  1. uhh...I have. The track makes me disconnected from the game. I do not enjoy watching games there. I'm glad you do. However, many people in the community do feel this way, as you admit, and that's a problem if we want people to actually come to games. Admittedly I am rarely in the stands for football games. However, when I do go up in the stands I have never had a problem with seeing the game and the track is a non-factor in watching the game. You want the front rows to be closer to the field? Why? Everyone who has written about getting the front rows closer to the field thinks you will see better. Unless the front row is elevate you cannot see anything from along the sides of the field. At Iowa if you are in the first few rows you cannot really see the game, even from the 50 yard line. Your view is blocked by players. At Met Life if you have the club seats behind the bench on field level if you want to see the game you have to go inside and watch it on television. Regardless of the stadium or arena, if your seats are low, your view sucks. As for the highlighted quote from Skrabukes above, thanks. If you think there is a problem do not just whine. Become part of the solution and not the problem, DONATE! Every contribution no matter how small will help. My first donation after graduating was $15.00. After graduating law school and getting a job a set aside a few dollars every week and still do that every week now. As I started earning more I set more money aside and the donations went up. If you think you cannot afford to do that look at do every day. For all the people who wanted beer sales at games, give up one beer a week and you will have nearly $300.00 after a year to donate. If you smoke cutting back one pack a week and setting that aside would lead to a donation of nearly $700.00 (this is based upon $13.00 a pack in New York City, which I believe is low) a year, and you would be healthier. https://ubfoundation.buffalo.edu/giving/index.php?&custom=0581

  4. Frank Spencer is absolutely the worst ref out there. Always have felt that way with him. He should in no way be officiating games, especially Q1 games with NCAA tournament possibilities on the line for both teams. The moment I saw him, I knew it was going to be bad...it always is when he's around. Great wins this week. 5 out of 7 on the road and now 10-2 in league. The ass-kicking this team takes from many on here day in and day out was put to shame with this win tonight. I don't want to hear how "horrendous the first half was" or anything like it. It's a 40 minute game, and the better team ended up winning, on the road, in each game this week. Now they can finish up with 4 out of 6 at home and hopefully get some momentum heading into neutral court games at the Q, where they are going to win 3 days straight. This team has to endure constant "highest attendance of the season" from their opponents in every game in league this year. They get their opponents (and fans) best when they step in to the gym. There's a reason why home court is worth like 8 points in the projections. We'll get those 8 points on our side for 4/6 now, that's a 16 point swing for the non-mathematicians out there. In Cleveland, it's no advantage, so our numbers should be heavy on the positive side, with regard to projections. I'm proud of this team. Harris has struggled with his shooting. I hope it picks up over the next month, but regardless, his rebounding has greatly improved to pick up for his low shooting %. Graves had some man sized rebounds early in this game, and is very consistent with his efforts. Dontay has been a beast, on both ends. Davonte can't seem to hit the FTs, but made a big 3 from the corner tonight. CJ wasn't his normal self, but hit a couple 3s in big spots tonight, playing with 3 and 4 fouls (soft ones, I might add). Montell was playing way above the rim. Perk, huge, huge, huge tonight. Jeenathan had 2 coast to coast plays that showed why he was rated highly. Rondo provides a few spot minutes to keep the speed up and let the others stay fresh for the big 2nd halves that we need (he and Jeenathan are still growing into the D-1 play). I look forward to the next many weeks watching and relishing this top-25 ranked team, something that we may have never thought would come around. What, 15 straight weeks next week? That's damn nasty, especially for a "just a MAC team". Big game tomorrow, go support the girls! Go Bulls!

  8. I'm sitting in the Toronto airport, could not stomach the scores other than reading this thread..I was sure we lost the lead...then I see we are up 9 with :50 left...big relief but I LOVE how much we all care for much better play. We could have won by 20 if we played just a few ticks better and the refs were not duds.

  9. I would have put this in the ultimate thread. But I thought it deserved a little more prominence so here it is. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/colleges/nate-oats-is-bullish-on-buffalo-building-on-last-years-ncaa-tournament-breakthrough/2019/02/15/4ea3b70c-3197-11e9-86ab-5d02109aeb01_story.html Grear pub for Nate and UB. It continues to raise his profile. Which is good and bad.

  10. Then please round up $$ to change it. I'm not sure how people constantly being negative about it helps UB sell tickets in the future. I'm at every game, and like I said, I see the games just fine. Sorry that it's not to everyone's (including your) liking. Instead of knocking everything UB does wrong constantly, (players, facilities, coaches) push for something to help promote it or make it better. This is supposed to be a UB Fan forum. Yes, everything isn't perfect and things can always be improved, and no I don't see the world with rose colored glasses, but come on. If the small number of people who actually utilize this site, and are "UB Fans" aren't the positive ones, how can we expect John Q Public to get behind UB?

  11. I love how so many "Buffalo people" crush our football stadium. I see the games just fine from my seats, in fact, I've never once had a problem seeing the game well. For all those who don't like it, please make a donation to the UB football excellence fund today, and make it a big one to fix this "terrible place". I do however agree with the rest of your statement.

  12. Honestly, out of all the capital projects possible for the athletics department, making changes to alumni would probably be bottom of the list. Not that it couldn't be better, but I think that money would be better spent on making the football stadium not a terrible place to watch a game, or on training/practice facilities which will help lure recruits. Top of my list would be a dedicated basketball facility for practices, training, etc. State of the art.

  13. I thought Nate did a great job of subbing and managing the foul trouble. You mentioned the freshman...I felt Williams gave us great minutes in the first half. 4 points and like 4 rebounds. Solid minutes. But of course Oats is gonna ride his seniors in crunch time. Any coach would. The roll of the freshman are to steal minutes throughout the game to keep the main 7 fresh.

  14. I agree. UB has to show both appreciation and a commitment by giving him another raise and contract extension. Will be sending Mark Alnutt emails and supporting the UB athletic fund and we will show Mark we are committed and support UB athletics. I hope Nate would not take a bottom P5 job with only money on his mind. Go Bulls!!!!!

  15. Yep. Good teams are able to push through it. It was highly slated against us in the first half. That charge on segu was insane. Tilted our way a little in the second half though but terrible terrible officiating. That foul on caruthers rebounding the ball and falling out of bounds was awful. It would’ve been Toledo ball but no way that’s a foul. There were some bad calls against Toledo in the second half too. Really tough to watch

  16. A team breaking UB basketball records by the game and season will do that to you. Just awesome stuff. Now let’s close this season out with a bang!

  17. Phew, some lucky shots by Toledo to open up, a slow start, still not fully firing on all cylinders (Harris) and we win on the road to a 20-4 team. A huge win. It gets easier on paper but at the same time a loss from here on out looks that much uglier on our resume. Let's keep this train rolling and turn it on full blast come March. Go Bulls!

  19. Still here. Listen, I love this team and this season. The way i vent during horrific performances like the first half is that I post my frustrations with other fans who can identify. If you can't handle that, the forum has the option to hide my posts.

  20. That’s a great win. Full marks for that 2nd half. Very impressive by UB. Again, the script of falling behind big in the first half, works better for UB than being up big early.

  21. Still under water on the assist turnover ratio. 10/12 And Harris 4-15 from the field and 0-4 from 3. Imagine if he regains his touch we would have win that game by 20+

  22. No knocking the team? Come on, it was a bad win, ugly, something? 16-2 finishing record is in our sights. Battled awful reffing and a full house against a top 35 team. Stayed composed after starting poorly and eam them out of gas in the end. Great job boys!

  23. 22-3. I’ll take it! Go Bulls!!

  24. All we do is win win win no matter what! How’s that for a statement. Quad 1 win on the road against a Toledo team that statistically is good. Gritty gutty victory. Come on home boys. We’ve earned a homestand.

  25. Perry Mason: ...and I would submit that the Bulls are indeed a Final Four contender. Hamilton Burger: Your Honor, I have no objection. Judge: Be it so recorded - The Buffalo Bulls are a Final Four contender. Court adjourned.

  31. Harris is taking over a bit, he's such a good 2 point shooter its nuts.

  32. Agreed...one of the best ever! Except when the Bulls put up 110 against the hot defense. LOL

  33. baaaaaaad but yet only down 3. These officials swallowed the whistle (no fouls since that comment) and look! it's a three-point game.

  34. These referees are straight trash, i dont care. That's two bad goaltends, missed charge/block calls 14-7 fouls for Toledo, a mess.
    1 point
  35. Meh, both teams play in front of the same refs. If you're a top 25 team you need to be able to adjust.

  36. What is this lineup? McRae/Segu/Williams is a really bad mix

  37. Not sure who’s off to a worse start, UB Mcrae, the refs or the announcers. The only thing I could do anything about was the announcers so I muted the tv.

  38. If next year's team goes 20-11 will the arena be standing room only? Let's work on ensuring the team keeps winning so that the arena becomes a problem before we focus on all the shortcomings of Alumni arena.
