  2. Just turned college game day on a short while ago. And just in time to catch some Buffalo talk. Williams brought Buffalo up as a team that could make it with Bilas agreeing, Greenberg saying Buffalo really gets up and down the floor and Reece Davis concluding that “wouldn’t it be something if a MAC team made the final four!” just great recognition and a testament to what Oats, staff and his players have accomplished. The best is yet to come! Go Bulls!!

  3. It would be nice to get to the 2-3 line and avoid CMU until the finals. The 4 line would be challenging, having to face Toledo followed by CMU. Gotta win the final 2 and let the chips fall where they may. The team had a super week, beating the current 2 & 3 seeds by a combined 60 points!

  4. Wouldn't the easiest fix be to build some seating in the corners? I can't see how you can reconfigure Alumni another way without major expense.

  7. F him. He hasn't liked us all season. Whats the point of Net or Kenpom if we win out and are an 8 or 9 seed? That would be an absolute joke. If we win out, and we will, we should be a 5, give or take.

  8. I agree. I don't understand the hate for Danny White. He hired some of the best coaches this school has ever seen, tried his best to market the school, and overall was a very successful AD here. He left the athletics programs in a better place than when he got here, and that is all you can really ask for.

  9. AT the final home game of the season UB will honor UB Hall of Famer Rasaun Young. His number 11 will be hung from the rafters in Alumni Arena. http://ubbulls.com/sports/mbkb/2018-19/releases/20190228hxvc8l My favorite memory of Young was when UB played in a tournament at Iona College in his home town of New Rochelle, New York hosted by Iona College. Young had two great games and was named MVP of the tournament in front of many friends and family.

  10. They've been on a nice 3 game run since we blew them out. Beat BG, took Kent to the wire @Kent, and the big win today. We better not take them lightly on Tuesday.

  11. Nice win by UCF, giving UB the longest active home streak in the NCAA.

  12. Yep, missed by most of the students. The community has certainly bought into the UB teams, both men and women. It's a shame that the students refuse to show up for the women's games. They are an outstanding team with a great coaching staff, and a likely WNBA draft pick. One chance left at home, I hope for a nice crowd on Wednesday.

  13. I'm totally with you on this one. If Buffalo gets past the first weekend, I'm going to have to book some flights

  14. Oooo. Style points. Points that don’t count. They are a nice story and a team that could win one game in the big dance. Just way over hyped imo. If they get seeded higher than us I’ll lose my lid.

  15. No. I just saw it on a list of events from UB and posted the link.

  16. As much as this season has been tremendous I've been looking ahead most of the season toward the NCAA tourney. I've been so excited just to see if they can make a run that I probably haven't enjoyed the conference games as much as I should have. I just assumed they'd win most of them.

  17. Is it possible for a shooter to be too deliberate? It looks like Harris is thinking “How do I do this?”. Then, ever so slowly, he aims and releases - another clanked shot. He can’t be as bad as he looks just now. Will he get it back? The added dimension ups the Bulls’ probability of going deep into the Tourney.

  18. I agree with you and I don’t. This is a strange year for trying to rank the field. Almost every midmajor low major conference is down, outside a few teams (Zags, Nevada, UB, Wofford, Furman). We are looking at only the top 7 conferences getting multiple bids. Now those top 7 conferences don’t play anyone else when they can avoid it, or at least limit that exposure, so now when the seeding committee is looking at SOS, the Nevada’s, UBs and Woffords of the world can get buried because those conference tourneys are now all neutral court Q1 games. A team looking at a 7 seed from the ACC, B1G, BE, etc can make a conference tourney run and find themselves suddenly a 3 seed. Until the NCAA steps in and forces those teams to play OOC road games, this will always be the case. So we need there to be no surprises. if UB does get screwed on its seed, It will be fun to hear some P5 coach whine that they have to play US. “Not fair! How was a 30 win team a 6 seed?”... Because you had no business being a 3 dumbass....

  20. Looking for Nevada to lose their first Q1 game today.

  21. Agreed. I think it is all mental now. Our team looks... bored. I don't blame them. They had an OOC schedule where they played top ranked teams then came back to the MAC where they think all the teams are pushovers. I am not saying it is the right mentality but, to me, that is how it looks. MAC tournament this will be a different team. I would say for senior night as well.

  22. I need to keep reminding myself that we’re 26-3. I get so frustrated when this team struggles because I know we have the potential to be a great team. Can’t take this run for granted, we’re 26-3!

  23. I have all the confidence in the team this year and next year. I am guilty of probably thinking these two players would show more even with their limited minutes because of their overall status of athletic ability. We hear they are in the gym all the time and hope that will translate into play on the floor. Next year’s team is going to be like the women this year. A different makeup of players. Do agree we gutted out a win that maybe in other years we might not of won. Hope CJ is okay and a little concerned KitKat the last few games he has had ankle injuries. Go Bulls!!!!!

  24. I don’t care about their gym. I do hope their nationally televised games increase attendance at all future BB games around Buffalo.

  26. All we do is win win win no matter what! Call it ugly call it whatever. We won. I rather win ugly than lose pretty. Yea we didn’t shoot particularly well. Yea we missed free throws and yea we turned the ball over (mostly in the 1st half, only 3 in the 2nd half) but we won another road game. The one thing I’m deeply concerned about is Harris. His game all around has deteriorated. He needs to find himself. And fast.

  27. Survived. Glad to get a tough win on the road, but this game was like a checklist of all the problems this team has faced that Oats has been harping on.

  29. These long stretches where the team loses focus and goes to sleep seem to happen most games and will absolutely kill them in March against a good team.

  30. National games require pretending that the game was chosen for both teams. It wasn't. Miami is terrible. But they game plan ahead of time to talk about each team a certain amount of time. This broadcast has been 90/10 UB. But they have to give at least some credence to Miami as a team. I'm more than happy with how we're being portrayed on national TV.

  32. Thank you for uncovering this and posting. This. Is. Awesome! Raymond Hawkins is the type of person you root for in life. I will always be a fan regardless of the path he chooses. His attitude is outstanding, exactly the type of person and player Nate has been recruiting. He would fit here like a glove. What a pleasure it would be to root for him for four years at Alumni Arena!

  33. My one issue with this article is that is says we’ve barely been tested. I guess 10 true road victories (12 if you count neutral sites) in hostile environments means nothing. Still have two more true road games. Whoever wrote this sounds like they really haven’t followed us closely.

  35. Not going to happen. I think that is a requirement on a SUNY campus. Most campuses that I have been on have a wind tunnel some place on campus.

  36. I can't believe how excited I get for games now. Counting down the hours to game time. Also counting down the time til the Bowling Green vs. Kent game. P.S. With this comment, I have made the All-Rookie team. I would like to thank my family and friends.

  37. The solution? Schedule UAB at home and honor him at halftime. Make the 1/2 20 minutes long.
