  1. My guess? Supporting out our recruit James Rojas in post-season action just outside of Wichita. Rojas and Hutchinson played Coffeyville Community (#3 ranked JUCO team) and won behind a line from Rojas of 30 pts/8 boards/3 assists/1 block/2 steals. He hit threes, was good from the line, and led his team to a big upset. Congrats James, and can't wait to see you in blue next year!

  2. i don't think it's crazy to discuss indiana as a bubble team. they got some bad losses, but they beat michigan st 2x, wisconsin, marquette, and louisville. they're 55 in net - can't use that as a uber metric for why we're an at large team, then dismiss it when talking p5 teams, right? not exactly made up of a bunch of blue bloods, but many will roll with that narrative. ;D

  4. So if you are in a power 5 conference of one of the top rated conferences your team can have a 500 record or a little above a 500 record, a losing record in your conference and if you have 3-5 wins against the top teams you are going to make the tourney and a mid major that is say overall a 20 win season with 2-4 losses might not get in because of strength of schedule being weak because the majority of the big conference teams donā€™t want to play the UBā€™s of the world?????? There is no fairness in this system and there will never be. Again I am just letting off steam again. It of course is unprecedented for us even to be in these discussions but this is the beauty of college basketball at our level. Go Bulls!!!!!

  5. A new b-ball arena is gonna cost at least 100 million. I think a lot of us, myself included, have blinders on. Example...both basketball programs have had great success in recent years. So naturally we the fan base wanna dream big. We wanna move conferences and build new facilities. And yes while I think UB is a basketball school...football is still king. And football will always lead the way in the future. We wonā€™t be able to change conferences unless football is up to par. And as it sits now...Iā€™m sorry but our football program isnā€™t. Mainly bc UB stadium is a dump (mainly the track around the field and capacity). I know this is a b-ball thread but when it comes to college sports and money football leads the way and everything comes second. We all want resources pumped into the b-ball programs and they deserve it. But for all our bigger dreams (new facilities & conference re-alignment) we need greater success from the big time money maker...football. Now if we can get some big donor to make a multi-million dollar donation dedicated to the b-ball team thatā€™s a game changer. As it was for the new football facility.

  6. Right on, idc if we score 120 points or 60 points, we need to win these next 2 games.

  8. The MAC deserved 2 bids that year. Had Miami lost in the finals they would of been the snub. The general understanding was that if UB or MU lost in the finals, the team and the league did enough for said loser to make it. I know, leagues donā€™t earn bids, teams do... blah, blah, blah. No easy games that year. But when almost every media outlet had you down as the biggest at large snub, you just have just been snubbed. And then you deal with it. Maybe I should of scrolled up first, why is this being discussed?

  9. Yes, I remember it was discussed in a lot of bracketology discussions. RPI was one factor, of many. Not the largest (strength of schedule was a larger factor). And it always comes down to the committee anyway, and buffalo didn't have a good resum.

  10. Fire codes were meant to be broken lol. Pack it till people are standing on other people. Iā€™m joking obviously. And @squire17 Iā€™m not getting at you, but we canā€™t complain when itā€™s not packed and complain when it is packed.

  11. Can we move the conference re-alignment discussion to one of the 60 other threads on the topic?

  12. I like that you called out your Ohio University degree. I hope you enjoyed your time there but welcome back to the light side. Were you part of the Ozone while you were there? Your time there was the DJ Cooper days.

  13. We're spoiled in Buffalo. My commute is 13 minutes if I hit green lights, and ~20 minutes normally. Of course, Buffalo isn't 70/80 year round like some of those places you're talking about šŸ˜‰ South McBride St on street parking is where I go. 10-15 minute walk to the arena and you don't have to battle other drivers to get out of lots. There's alternate side parking, and the area isn't the greatest, but people pay $10 or $20 to park literally right next to where I park.

  14. The closest space you could get parking at the Syracuse game was like 15 bucks and at least a 10 minute walk away, then you were stuck in traffic for extended periods of time afterwards. I don't see how anyone can possibly complain about the free parking that is right near the arena. Seriously, I've stayed every game until 0:00 and then walked to my car. I have gotten home within 30 minutes every game (with the exception of the one game where I drove home not being able to see a car's length in front of me!) and I live a minimum of 25 minutes from the arena.
