That is what people said after Dartmouth. The truth is that the team is talented, but is missing a few important intangibles that will prevent them from being as successful as their raw talents indicate. Certainly the intensity seems to be lacking at times, which is a crucial one The coach has not yet been able to coax this out of his team on a consistent basis. At this point, we know who the coach is and we know who the main players are. I suspect this sort of up-and-down performance for the rest of the season. On our best day, we can beat any team in the league. On our worst, we will get blown out on the road. As a fan, I like teams that play hard and with intensity. Sometimes, despite hard work and intensity, a team just has a good shooting game and you tip your cap to them. Think Marquette last year. But this team, this year...they aren’t those plucky, hard-working, lunch pail overachievers. They seem more like the “turn it on when we need it / play to our opponent level” sort of team, unfortunately. I do wish Whitesell the best because I will always be a UB fan. But I’d be lying if I said I am very confident he will be able to fix this.

UB by 12 in front of a relatively sparse crowd, as locals are at the sabres game or waiting for bills start. I'd be very pleased if we can start MAC play in this manner. No games are easy, but this team is too talented to take their MAC opponents for granted and will play as a team today (hopefully)!

NIU has beaten us the last 2 years when we had much better/more consistent teams. I think we are better than them, but we also lost to Army and Dartmouth. This should not be the attitude for any of our games this year.

Yes, he isn't the best shooter, but he is shooting 33% this year, and he has to be at least willing to shoot threes so the D will play up on him and open up the drive.

Mballa has to start. Bertram has to earn his minutes. He certainly should not vault into the starting lineup—especially if it means displacing Mballa.

I hope its the first. I could however see Whitesell use Williams like Perkins. Jim 100% wants more size and would love to do Mballa - Bertram for stretches to help with the poor inside defense.

Why do people think we getting back this star or big role player. Mballa will still start at the 5. Brock will be good for 5-8 minutes off the bench, that’s it. Fagan maybe couple min also but neither gonna play big roles.
