Danny Hurley seems like a perfect fit at UConn, doesn't come across like a Kentucky coach in my opinion

Oates on the other hand to me screams Kentucky

Hurley is 51 years old. The farthest he’s been from Jersey City is where he is now. He’s not going anywhere. Oates just assured Bama that he’s staying put. Billy Donovan?

I guess just another side effect that may turn into a bad outcome for the kids they are supposedly helping. You know the IRS is going to want their cut no matter how many points you score.

I think the teammates who are majoring in accounting will set everyone straight on how to navigate that issue.

  3.  By cutting instructional staff salaries $5000 across the board, and funneling the proceeds to the Athletic department, UB paradoxically enhances its comprehensive reputation. This would initially fund $12.5 million. Successful college football and basketball programs are viewed by many teenagers as equaling personal success. Think what that money could do for the Bulls. A frenzy ensues, with more competitive students trying to get admitted. Does the local economy suffer? No. The 2500 or so professors are out a little, but it’s matched by increased earnings for athletic staff - the heart of academia. Everybody loves a winner. It’s time to join in the pursuit of a permanent win-win proposition.

  4. If I were the AD, tapping into UB’s Fund in Athletic Supreme Court Output would be at the top of my priorities. Pay off the fired coaches. Lure the best coaches with top salaries. And to forestall bickering concerning favoritism, FIASCO wouldn’t be limited to Basketball. All teams would have access, but primarily Basketball and Football. The money is there. Tripathi knows it. Do you want to be a laughing stock or an academic powerhouse? Please, do the right thing: Put the money where it will do the most good for the University’s reputation. Cut faculty salaries across the board by $5000. Funnel the proceeds to Alnutt’s department. Watch as UB regains the glory that has eluded its grasp

  5. I once was involved with a basketball team that started the year badly. They were, in fact winless. Not just winless…they were getting destroyed game after game. Late in the season, they faced the top team, which was undefeated. On game day there was a problem: No referees showed up. The coaches asked for a volunteer to ref the game. I said I would help. I had no experience, and had never even played for an organized basketball team since eighth grade. Somehow, the winless team (which my third grade son played for) traded baskets with the undefeated team. As the game progressed, the complaints grew louder. By the end of the game, there was almost a riot, and I gained some respect for those who executed a thankless task. My son’s team had knocked off Goliath. The underdogs went on to win at least one more game that year before the pizza party/awards banquet. I think the Bulls can win against Eastern Michigan, but I refuse to ref that game.
