  1. After the game Burke said that we have the best freshman in the conference. I think I agree! 🤘
  2. Reporters are not invited to donor events, and even if this does happen it’s nothing compared to what the local media does to the Buffalo Bills. They write hard-hitting articles on behalf of Terry and Kim Pegula such as: ”Rochester-area couple names new baby after Josh Allen” ”Young Bills Fan Breaks Down in Tears When Meeting Josh Allen” ”Shop puts up Bills flower display at Genesee and Ellicott” I wonder what other factors there were? Take a look at Mo’s resume with some critical thinking skills. Other schools around this time of year filled their vacancies in 2-3 days, so 5 is not unreasonable.
  3. So you're saying UB allowed a non-employee to hire an offensive coordinator? Or that he knew Saban was retiring last month? Agreed, I'm tired of seeing tweets about empty seats for women's basketball games and pictures of men's basketball games 30 minutes before tip. If she has an anti-UB agenda it's really starting to show. Scott Wilson is not a UB employee
  4. So what's in the ... that you cut off? Mo talked to Bama, Mo then talks to Alnutt, Byrne called Alnutt and said he thinks it will happen, reports surface that Mo is set to go to Bama, Alnutt calls Mo asking him if it's true after Mo didn't keep him posted. There's nothing contradictory there.
  5. Lembo calls Fort Wayne a cultural "hub" to the likes of Vienna or Istanbul compared to Muncie. He's a big fan of the oyster bar there.
  6. Just looking at the USC (east) reaction to this it would be a home run hire. Seems like he’s really liked there. But then you look at his decline at Ball State and it doesn’t look as good. I look forward to hopefully keeping quality coordinators for more then one (1) year.
  7. I thought the Leipold hire was exceptional, Leipold was great I thought the Mo hire was great, Mo was not great I think this is an awful hire. I really hope I’m proven wrong.
  8. Bill Greiner was inducted into the UB Athletics HoF and didn’t even play in a single hockey game for UB! What a sham!
  9. I don't think that's accurate. He's at every basketball game.
  10. UB Athletics' most prominent donor seemed to have no issue opening up his wallet to a D3 football coach and a former high school math teacher.
  11. Absolutely not. Tony Annese (D2 Ferris State) makes $150k Jason Eck (Idaho) makes $300k Matt Entz (NDSU) made $400k, unknown what he makes at USC as an assistant, a job he took recently Drew Cronic (Mercer) made an unknown salary, just took the OC job at Navy which does not disclose salaries Mo made $675k, in the upper half of the MAC. All of the above are coaches that have HC experience and would get a significant raise in accepting a UB HC job compared to their 2023 salary.
  12. Did Mo know when he was hiring these staff members that he 100% had an Alabama offer? I don't disagree with you but if he didn't have the job offer, he needed to be acting as if he was going to be here in the fall. Unrelated, @Jeseph we might need the dog to be taken on a walk...
  13. Is our lack of a Raising Cane's hurting our recruiting? My 24 page analysis will be finalized shortly
  14. They (Mo and/or Bama) also have the UB buyout to deal with too. Mo's an expensive hire for somebody with a reputation of jumping from job to job.
  15. Great game from Watson. Nice to pick up a road win at NIU too.
  16. Seems like there aren’t a whole lot of people saying anything to the contrary right now. Usually you see some former players come out and congratulate a coach on their new job, doesn’t appear this has happened or will happen.
  17. Polian is making less than what Mo was paid and should stay at John Carroll.
  18. You're right. I was looking at a website that had the rules incorrectly cited. From the NCAA rule book: The following pertain to a designated spot: a The designated spot is the location at which a thrower-in is presented disposal of the ball out of bounds as in Rules 4-101a through c b The designated spot shall be 3 feet wide with no depth limitation c The thrower-in must keep one foot on or over the designated spot until the ball is released Pivot foot restrictions and the traveling rule are not in effect for a throw-in d The thrower-in shall not leave the designated spot until they have released the ball and the thrown-in ball crosses the plane of the sideline or end line
  19. Agreed on the uncalled 3 second violations but, assuming you're talking about the inbounding play at the end of the third quarter, the it was the correct call. Because it was an out of bounds call, KLW (the inbounder) needed to have one foot planted when inbounding. Amazingly none of the Akron players noticed it despite it happening right in front of them.
  20. https://ubbulls.com/news/2024/1/9/ub-football-announces-three-future-opponents.aspx Two games against Army have been canceled.
  21. SUNY has been waiving a lot more application fees recently, including a blanket waiver* for a couple of weeks in 2023. That's probably what's increasing that number. I had no interest in the other university centers but a free application might have changed my backup plans. SUNY schools were the only schools I actually paid an application fee for, so I only applied to the two I visited. Despite the UAlbany campus' attractive prison aesthetics, they got some of my hard earned money. *Waiver is only for New York residents which is quite a decision since New York has a 3.8x the number of reasons to attract out of state students here. Maybe eventually those in charge will open their eyes and decide to change course. 🤷‍♂️
  22. https://www.buffalo.edu/provost/oia/facts-publications/factbook/student/applications-admitted-and-enrolled.html Note that I'm referring to less selective in terms of acceptance rate, which isn't a 100% comprehensive view of selectivity. The incoming freshman class in 2022 actually had higher submitted SAT/ACT scores than the 2013 incoming freshman class, but the percent submitting those scores went from 84% in 2013 to 33% in 2022 so there's a bit of selection bias there which makes it an inaccurate comparison.
  23. I really do not see how these should be exclusive in any way. Athletics boosts academics. SUNY (as a system) is losing a lot of enrollment and facing budget problems. UB has the money and reputation to stay above that, but has been getting slightly less selective. Athletics is effectively a marketing arm of the school. Need to get more people interested in going to the school.
  24. Georgia Tech ranked 127, 72, 94 in total offense yards per game under Patenaude. They dropped to 115 after he was fired. Was the OC for Temple in 2017 and 2018 under Collins where they went to a bowl game in back to back years. At Coastal Carolina his teams went 8-5, 12-3, 12-2, 9-3, 10-2. Led Georgetown to their only winning season (8-3) this millennium. Seems like he could be a good hire if Georgia Tech was just a bad fit.
