He should’ve taken minutes when Caruthers had 4 fouls, when Davonta and Caruthers needed a quick break. But instead he got zero playing time, even if he got 5 minutes it would’ve really helped him to see what p5 competition is like for future tournament appearances. But instead he got put in with Brock and Fagan in the last 30 seconds of two blowout games

I fully expect to get some hate for this. I’ll start this by saying I don’t want this situation to happen, however there are some interesting signs pointing to it’s possibility. Recently UNLV fires their coach. This caused one of their players, Amauri Hardy, to enter the transfer portal. Amauri Hardy is an interesting player, he’s from Detroit and has connections to Nate Oats. UB also offered him a scholarship when he was in high school. He is a 4 star PG with previous connections to our coaching staff who showed previous interest in our school during his original recruiting process. Jayvon Graves also followed Hardy on twitter about an hour after Hardy announced his transfer intentions. This is purely speculation, but Segu got absolutely zero meaningful playing time during the tournament, the time he did get was garbage time. This is really inexplicable especially when Jordan and Caruthers ran into foul trouble. I have a feeling he may have told the coaches he wants to transfer or did something to get on their bad side. If this is true, which it probably isn’t but IF it is, we would surely be in contention to land Hardy as his replacement. Personally I like the potential Segu has and see a bright future for him and wouldn’t want this to happen, however Hardy brings a stronger scoring presence. He averaged 13.1 ppg on 43.9% shooting, 34.1% from 3. Multiple 20 point games. Again this is all speculation and primarily due to boredom at the lack of recent news about the team lol

A player with a nice mid range jump shot will always be a welcome addition. Not only just in case the play breaks down and we need a shot before the shot clock expires, but they usually bring an element of a player that can create their own scoring. Most of our points came from unselfish passing which ultimately led to spot up shots that were wide open for the most part. With 5 seniors graduating and a much younger team in general next year, I would like to see a player that can create their own scoring chances rather than relying on unselfish play from young and still inexperienced players

Part of me wants Texas Tech to win it all to make our loss look better, another part wants to see Michigan blow them out by 80

I’m just really not sure what else Oats needs to do to make people realize he loves Buffalo and doesn’t view it as a stepping stone to the next big pay day. He’s said and done all the right things, unless he goes against everything he’s led us to believe about him, I think we found another Mark Few -
Exactly, everyone brings up the player ratings I always make sure to mention CJ was a 2 star and barely listed as one at that and Brock is a 3 star

Highlights of Antwain Johnson show that he actually does have a very nice pull up jump shot from both mid range and 3. Not sure how he’ll compare to Clark but fingers crossed

After watching some of Durey Cadwell’s highlights I’m pretty sold on him as well. Looks like a natural scorer, only thing that really is unsure to me with next years team is how our defense will stack up compared to this seasons

You’re right I’ll accept 40 and no less lol

The money would get mentioned to get his attention for a possible interview -
Whatever it was definitely worked. The March Madness commentators couldn’t stop talking about how strong he looked and was

Think about how God awful Jordan was his freshman year. Zero jump shot capability, no confidence, poor decision making, tons of turnovers, and zero aggression on offense. Compare that player to this past season, shot 48% from 3, aggressive defender, incredibly athletic when driving to the rim. All I’m saying is that giving up on Segu and Williams this early is jumping the gun. They’re just kids, they’re still learning and adapting to the speed of D1 basketball

I hope you’re right lol, crazier things have happened though Same here, turn him into a monster

Turning Alumni into a basketball-only building leaves them with a lot of room to mess around with and create a pretty impressive facility for the programs. I'm all for it -
From what little I've seen of Grant, he appears to be a very good 3pt shooter, but he seems like more of a role player. Sort of a Montell McCrae playstyle

Plus he wouldn't have a boat dock in his backyard like he currently does. Heard he's a big boating fan lol -
Yes actually, it was about the officiating. I called the officiating embarrassing while the game was happening too. Regardless though I’m proud of this team, being ranked is something I’ve always wanted this team and town to experience, and now it finally happened. Regardless of our amazing senior class, the recruiting class is special this year and there’s always a huge improvement from a players freshman to sophomore year. Who knows how Segu and Jeenathan will improve. There will be a drop off for sure next year, but I don’t think it will be anywhere near as bad as people are expecting.

Same here, mistakes happen all the time, especially at his age. I hope he learned and grew from it

The best part of all of this talent coming in is they are all great players obviously but they also all appear to be great people off the court as well. Won’t have any type of Quate McKinzie issues

How do you guys see us using Hawkins if we do end up landing him? I haven’t seen much of anything in regards to him having any sort of jumpshot so will he be more of a replacement for when Perkins goes 1 on 1 down low with the other team’s big man?
