  1. by way of Great Britain and national powerhouse Long Island Lutheran 6’8”
  2. COBL as a site has been around for many years and is very well run by Josh Verlin. It is often my go to for Philly area hoops info and is also very reliable. They run prospect camps in the summer and have great coverage this time of the year for all the playoff HS and college conference tournament games going on.
  3. watched him play in HS at St Joe's Prep - wore the prestigious #10 on the same team as Jeremiah Trotter Jr.; All-Ivy LB too - would be a 'smart' pick up.
  4. His introduction to the UB community -
  5. Good win, able to watch the 3rd and 4th quarters and read afterwards first win in DeKalb since 2004 (?) could this be true?? And second road win in a row. Watson is a straight bucket and look out once Ogden and hit a 3 with even somewhat consistency, 0-5 tonight - oof.
  6. watching my Sixers get back on track versus the Houston Rockets yesterday 1/15/24, with about 5 minutes to go our guy subbed into the game wearing #19, I started watching intently once again - 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 foul, 0-2 from the field, 2-2 FT: 2pts - and a whopping +10 while on the floor - it was good to see especially when Reggie Bullock and Boban didn't get into the game.
  7. New OC! Surprised no one shouted it out. https://buffalonews.com/sports/buffalo-football-offensive-coordinator-dave-patenaude-dj-mangas-maurice-linguist/article_ab2b0f88-a669-11ee-af28-b3883aa35f8d.html
  8. their opponent Archbishop Carroll is a middle of the pack Philly Catholic League team - they can compete
  9. I was at that game! I chose not to rush the field as I was a recent college grad and was thinking of my new job and not wanting to get arrested. I believe I remember a feeble attempt to bring down the goal post
  10. Unfortunately, Coach Killings has Philly inroads with his coaching experience at Temple, not that Halcovage doesn’t.
  11. another Philly Catholic League kid - Archbishop Wood, playing along side Jalil Bathea, last years PCL POY. Should be fun to watch their recruiting stories and the upcoming season.
  12. Yes and yes - Philly Pub champs, PIAA champs and playing summer ball with the excellent Team Final squad. This season Imhotep will be lead by their 5star guard Ahmad Nowell, he has all of the typical P-5 offers. Taylor is good, I was at their PIAA quarterfinal game against PCL foe Archbishop Ryan with their rising senior center Thomas Sorber who this summer committed to Georgetown, he has 2 inches on Taylor and he struggled a little against Sorber. He should have a bigger presence to balance the team's scoring with Nowell shooting and driving as well as he does. I like that UB got in early on him as well.
  13. but of course, they have that N-G connection
  14. not many videos longer than a few minutes with that game, mostly highlight videos. There are many on youtube of catholic league games where you can watch him work. Good games too.
  15. Same HS, same tough Philly Catholic League. School is in South Philly and played for legendary coach Carl Arrigale. I first saw him play during his Jr year at a early season showcase at the Sixers Wilmington G-League facility against the all-boys Salesianum School. He was good and that team went on to win both the PCL and the PIAA championship. He played two seasons with PG Robert Wright who's headed to Baylor and participated in this years USA basketball U-17 team. This season Neumann-Goretti lost both the PCL chip to Roman Catholic and then lost the PIAA championship game to Lincoln Park from Pittsburgh who has the states #1 2025 player on their team. I think he would fit in nicely.
  16. In Tyree Jackson news today - He Re-signs!! 1 year deal through the 2023 season The Eagles announced the following roster moves on Monday: • TE Tyree Jackson signed his exclusive rights tender Since making the conversion from quarterback to tight end after originally signing with the Eagles in 2021, Jackson has played in 14 games (3 starts) and recorded three catches for 22 yards and a touchdown. This past season, Jackson appeared in five games and played 34 snaps on offense.
  17. Ha! I live in Philly and try to get to as many local games as possible - and then of course if it has tie-ins to the UB basketball community, I try and take closer note. The PCL is unparalleled in regards to competition and season long rigor and the semis and finals at the Palestra are a great atmosphere. I made it to the Giant Center in Hershey for the first time to see Roman Catholic take on Reading HS (largest HS in PA). PIAA is still old and not amendable to a shot clock which hurts the game overall. I'd be happy to post as much as it's relevant.
  18. Bethea was the Philly Catholic League MVP this past season and Carson Howard was the center on a very talented Archbishop Wood team!
  19. I was at that game in Ithaca! and 10.7 is FAST - I don't remember Drew having that kind of speed, hands oh absolutely!!
  20. and he's got wheels! I do not know how fast his Dad ran 100 meters, but already he has run 10.7 seconds early in the season which would win most state championship races.
  21. Completely understood and with all due respect BB, having a coach through the Spring and Summer will better be able to recruit and retain future and current Bulls and I am thinking about state playoffs which are going on right now as well as the summer AAU circuit for starters.
  22. Spoke with my brother last night and he told me he's going on the 27th, driving from Atlanta its only 2.5 hours for the noon game!
  23. You mean Bennett HS coach and former UB linebacker Steve McDuffie ('95) - and NYS champion!
