UW-M got close midway through the second half this morning but UB stepped on the gas for another convincing win. Great to see Harris finding his rhythm and Perkins stepped up for a big game. UB will get a bit more rest than San Francisco but they're a solid team. Let's come out firing and bring home a trophy 🤘🏻

San Francisco went on a late run against SFA to seal it. It seems they play a similar game to us with uptempo guard play. This game scares me a little bit.

SFU plays some Top 25 teams multiple times in a year. Our ranking shouldn't phase them. I think it will come down to our guard play vs there guard play. SFA tried putting pressure on the guards but it backfired.

Definitely going to be a great test. Honestly could be the best team we have played this year tomorrow but if you're going to "win" one of these tournaments you have to play a good team.

I love this test. Win this a very tough game against a solid 7-0 team on neutral court makes our rank even stronger.

Loss would most likely knock our ranking number off (oh well not end of the world). But it would fun to see them destroy Lemoyne Wednesday night ranked in the teens :)

Dons fan here, just checking in. I expect this to be a great game as well. Love to have a crack at at Top-25 program like yours to gauge just where we really are right now. USF biggest strengths so far have been defense and team rebounding. They are a very well-coached team that tends to minimize mistakes, especially at the PG position, where Frankie Ferrari has a very high assist-to-turnover ratio. They are a tough group to rattle, that's for sure.

A quick rundown of the starters:

Frankie Ferrari (PG) - As mentioned, doesn't make a lot of mistakes (9 assist, 2 turnovers in today's win). Will drop at least one assist a game that makes you go "ooooohh"

Charles Minlend (SG) - Probably the most talented overall player on the team. Can be streaky.  Has a great nose for finding ways to score.  You will look at the box score at the end of a game and think, "where did those points come from."

Jordan Ratinho (SG) - Fantastic three-point shooter. Usually guards the other team's best perimeter guy. A real lunchbox kind of player

Nate Renfro (F) - An incredible dunker. Likes to shoot threes too, although he doesn't shoot a high percentage. Great defender/rebounder. Insanely athletic. Terrible FT shooter

Jimbo Lull (C) - Slow as hell, but has improved his game considerably this season, causing teams a lot of problems in the paint. Splits minutes in the post with Matt McCarthy, who is a wily veteran that has a lot of moves around the basket.

Good luck tomorrow!

San Francisco really hasn't played anyone in those 7 games, except maybe Harvard, remotely worth gushing about.

They do have very good guard play it appears, but, can they keep up with the tempo we play at for 40 minutes? Have their guards really been tested at all this season? I just see our batch of guards being too much for them. It could be a close game at some points, but we should be taking the W here.

I think the fact that UB goes so deep on their bench for meaningful minutes...and plays with so much pace...can be the deciding factor.  A good test, no doubt.

Welcome to the board, thanks for the cliff-notes!

Glad we get to see this matchup out of a tournament with an otherwise unimpressive set of teams.

Man, this is a tough one.

However, we need to add these type of games to the schedule, UB had to hope it would land San Francisco once the teams came out. Playing Albany/Brooklyn does nothing for this team.

A bjg neutral court won against this team would go a long way for the resume.

Big game! I was looking into these USF Dons box scores, stats, usage, mins etc, and I am feeling pretty confident going into this one.  Which makes me incredibly nervous after last night.

ill start with what concerns me, UB played maybe their worst game of the season yesterday.  I know the first 10 minutes were god awful and that skews some things, and maybe we were just getting our legs and used to the court, we will see.  USF played one of their better games of the year vs SFA.  And SFA is better than UWM so maybe they got the better warmup game.

anyway, what I saw.  Very good guard play, but no guard depth.  Point guard looks very good but plays pretty much all game.  They start 3guards and only one comes off the bench that plays any significant minutes.  2nd game in a row should play right into UB’s hands.  Mr Ferrari, meet Mr Jordan and Mr Caruthers, they will be happy to escort you around they court.  Try to keep up.

their renfro kid kinda sucks.  Like shouldn’t be starting for a good d1 program kinda sucks.  Stats say he should be playing Bertram type minutes, yet he is on the court most game.  He seems to have some good shot blocking and rebounding skills, but every time down the court he shoots is a win for UB.

they will have a slight advantage inside with their 7fter Lull but our pace may take him out of the game.  No way he gets up and down the floor with a McCrea, or even Perkins.  If we push the ball when Lull is in, their defense will be switching before the shot clock even resets. Should create some open looks.

One last thing that kind of jumped out at me, USF doesn’t get to the FT line very often but also doesn’t put their opponent there much either. Game should be won with the game clock ticking, which I like.  Just got to shoot decent and I predict a UB win, 79-69.
