Buffalo News Article re: Juco Recuriting

Recommended Posts

"I think some kids still act like they might be above Buffalo," Coach Nate Oats said. "Well, OK, we're ranked 14th in the country. Do you have a scholarship offer from the 13 teams above us?"

Yeah...I love, love, love his attitude about this.   It is 1000% the right approach.  Keep at it Nate!

By the way, the article (once again) emphasizes the importance of that first tournament appearance on recruiting.

Next milestone tonight:  Beat Cuse in their place.  They wouldn't stoop to come to Buffalo (last time in 1996), Ithica (1981), Olean (2003), Canisius (2006) or Niagara (1982).

The last time UB beat Syracuse was 1963 in Buffalo.  It was an overtime affair that UB won 63 - 61.

This was a great article.  Very insightful.  Love Oats and his words and approach.  Who wouldn't want to play for a coach like him. This article also gets me excited to see Rojas.  He sounds legit.  Does anyone else feel that in the days leading up to the Cuse  game and with the win we got more exposure and coverage than when we beat Arizona?  I feel like we are lasting in the spotlight longer now.  Loving every second of it.

For sure. March Madness is just that, magical upsets and a moment in the spotlight. What we've done since then is build on that, there's a momentum to this team and they simply can't ignore us at this point. Wins over local favorites in SBU and SU don't hurt as well 🙂

Really hoping this stretch helps us land some of these most recent recruits we have on the radar!
