From the people I know who were at the parade the key phrase was "thrown at them". People reported having beads and boxes of food being whipped, as opposed to having them tossed, at them. May be I am just not a parade person. I went to two in my life. Both were the Macy's parade on Thanksgiving Day. Too cold to enjoy standing outside to see floats and balloons.
