Sure, UB likes to play faster, but the talent on this team is more than enough to overcome that. They solidly beat Syracuse who slowed things down with the zone. They can, and should win games like that, especially in the MAC and especially against NIU. The UB Bulls shit the bed in this game. There was no ball movement on offense and everyone was chucking up terrible shots and praying. They had no hustle or focus on defense, and they turned the ball over like a Reggie coached team. This loss is 100% on the players in blue and no one else. If you don’t think the refs had any influence in that game then you are naive and/or just haven't played basketball to fully understand. For example, that 5 minute call on the inbound. When was the last time you saw a ref call that? And at that time of the game? Comon. That was bs. We do have a good team when we play the other team even if they throw a zone at us but when we play against the other team PLUS the refs dectating the tempo, we get no rythym and no chance to build momentum. weareub46
Refs were terrible both ways. Looked like we got a TO on that five second call but just because it doesn’t happen often doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be called. The refs aren’t the reason we shot terribly from the field and the charity stripe
BullsFan14
You know, reading stories about NIU's victory is awesome. Yes, we lost it sucks but it needed to happen. But look at how much we are respected. People see us as a powerhouse. A year ago, I wouldn't have thought we would be where we are. This quote is what struck me: “When the opportunity comes along to play a team like (Buffalo) that’s ranked in the top 25 and play in front of the home fans and get a win like that, it’s a marquee win,” McCarty said. “It definitely means a lot for the program. (Beating Buffalo) gives us a sense that we belong and a certain level of respect we should be given.” Link: https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/college/ct-spt-northern-illinois-buffalo-upset-20190124-story.html
