I'm more worried about any of ours going on to this list than I am worrying about gaining anyone at this time.  Until we have a full coaching staff in place, we can't really go after any of these guys anyway.  I would be more than happy if we are just able to have a lineup next year that includes Jordan, Anderson, Grant, Graves, Segu, Williams, Fagan, Bertram, Rojas, Cadwell. Then hopefully the new coach can try to work on Allen and Williams again, maybe get lucky to get one of them back (not promising, I would guess). In my opinion, we would need to target a Big that can play right away, although I'm not sure if those guys exist, that would be better than Fagan or Brock. Then see if anyone has slipped through the cracks, find that next CJ, then maybe go after one of those guys listed above.

A lineup of those guys would be competitive in the MAC, even without all of the bells and whistles of Allen, Hawk, Williams. Anderson will be a strong force in MAC play. Graves should be a 1st team type player. Jordan would be a top 15 guy in MAC play. All 3 of those in my opinion should be top 15-20 in MAC. Williams, Grant and Segu would provide quality in MAC. Not a 32 win team, but a solid team. Just have to keep them in place.

I love that you've started this list however, good work. It will be fun to look at in a week or so when the pieces start coming into place.

Thank you! Yeah I fully agree, keeping the current team together is everything, but really quick who is this Anderson that you mentioned?

As long as many are discussing transfers... remember... Ikenna transferred out. He could have stayed. He might have made a positive difference in 3 games we lost.

And who wouldn't have been on the team if Ikenna was still there, Grant or Johnson? I doubt that Ikenna would've made THE difference in any of our losses. He wouldn't have won the Marquette or TT game since they were big point losses. As for the 2 MAC games, it's unlikely. He was a nice guy and a nice role player, good glue guy, but his slow pace of play wouldn't have been advantageous to this quick paced offense for more than a couple minute spell here or there.

I’m going to go through the transfer portal list again and check out some of the 2 ️ players that I ignored. I admit when I went through, the only 2 star players I looked at were from teams that made the tournament or have had recent success

Nevada won a ton of games with 8 out of 13 players having played for another DI program. Not my ideal long term strategy but we need players and it’s getting late.

Very true so there’s always a chance of it working out, I just have my doubts about the team chemistry if that were to happen. Nevada kinda collapsed at the end of the year

I’ve tried to bite my tongue but I can no longer. This list is a bit insane. Really...Players like Lawson and Lewis are gonna come to UB. We are talking about top 100 recruits who on the transfer market are being contacted by other top programs. Lewis for example is being “re-recruited” by Oats to stay at Alabama. And he’s been contacted by Duke. Even Utomi is being contact by North Carolina. Again I emphasize players from top schools are looking to transfer to other top schools and players at mid majors are looking to transfer up to top schools.

We have to set our sights on the guys that fall through the cracks. So I’m sorry to say we will be in the transfer market for at best secondary caliber players. Not former top 100 recruits. Dare I even say guys who can just provide a warm body. We have to find a diamond in the rough. I’d be shocked to see us land a former big time recruit as a transfer. With Oats here sure. But as it stands we still don’t even have a coach and future direction.

Dooley I like you man, that’s why I’m simply going to point out that this is simply a list of players that are on the transfer list. I went through and looked at each player and their stats to see if they could contribute at UB. It’s as simple as that and it doesn’t mean that we’re going to get the top guys on this list. I simply made it so that people can see what type of players there are out there that are available. Simple as that, relax

Will Regan was a 3 star recruit at Virginia, it’s a shame we never could have convinced him to play for us.

Wes Clark was a 4 star recruit at Missouri, imagine if we had him on our team for even just one year?

Wish we had Wes for longer than a half season. But Wes had  a connection to Oats. So that was an exception.

Guys I agree with the whole transfer thing. We are gonna be players in that market. There’s over 500 players listed it’s hard to think we won’t get one or two or three. It’s modern day college basketball. I just had a discrepancy with some of the players listed is all. Appreciate the time you took digging through all that and compiling the list. I just think if we do get transfers it will be under the radar guys. Who knows. And that’s my whole point...we don’t have coach and we don’t know what direction we are headed in. I guess my impatience and frustration is just growing. It’s all out of love though guys. Sincerely.

Exactly I knew what you meant and I could see where my enthusiasm may have been portrayed as unrealistic so no harm at all. Personally on the list of players shown, I’m most interested in the 2 ️ players : Shakur Juiston, Noah Horchler, Adam Flagler, Caleb Daniels, Desmond Cambridge, Takal Molson, and Jalone Friday as well as 3 ️ players: Max Hazzard and Chad Lott

Is that you Reggie?

Are you forgetting this team is potentially targeting a head assistant from a P5 program who is used to recruiting 3+ stars?

Segu/Williams? Hawkins/Noah?

Jeremy Harris was a 4-star then JuCo player. Technically the best recruit to ever play here, via 247

You can get high recruits to come here and play for a ranked team (yes we will finish in the polls ranked). A team that's made the tournament 4 out of 5 years, under different coaches. A team that's been selling out seats, winning tournament games, and has buy-in from a P5 AD.

A new coach has this portal at his disposal and will grab some of them who "underperformed". Alabama cant start 400 players.
