Jeseph
Dillard is current 12th on ESPN’s best available board with a 12 pick 2nd round about to start. Where will she begin her pro career?
ubmae86
She just got picked 8th in the second round by Minnesota! I'm so happy for her. I look forward to getting her Jersey

rma
How far this women's basketball team has come. Congratulations to Cierra, I'm going to miss watching her play in person.
BrooklynBull
June 12th vs. New York Liberty at Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York.
xDerekRx
This is so awesome! Huge for the program. Last thing I could ask for this year is possibly a men's player getting drafted like CJ Last time I watched wnba with any regularity was back when Candice Parker entered the league. I'll be watching some lynx games for sure.

bowz
Bummer! First player cut from the preseason roster..... https://buffalonews.com/2019/05/11/wnbas-minnesota-lynx-cut-ub-guard-cierra-dillard/

xDerekRx
I don't know how to wnba works but I just figured 2nd round pick had a good shot at roster and or at least another wnba team.
DooleyBull06
Just now, xDerekRx said: I don't know how to wnba works but I just figured 2nd round pick had a good shot at roster and or at least another wnba team. What’s the point of having a draft with multiple rounds then. They just outright released her. Don’t even own her rights. Then why bother having a multiple round draft. Keep your head up Cierra. ed
I've posted this before, but the wnba is a joke. even top picks aren't guranteed a contract. max salary is like $115k (after 6 yrs). Last year's top pick signed for $52k/yr. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/05/sports/wnba-los-angeles-sparks.html https://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/18/sports/basketball/diana-taurasi-focusing-on-playing-in-russia-where-the-money-is.html

Roster size is so small and their careers are so long (this isn't football where you'll play for only a few years) that a lot of the draft picks don't end up making the team. Happens every year.
