UB92
Alex McNaulty. 24 straight extra points. That’s probably not a UB record, but it seems like it should be!

I think punting is the best, then our returns, then kicking, then opponent returns.

But at least the teams have a nice vacation. Speaking of, I see that Lance blew off a practice for beach time. I hope that doesn't bite us. I don't want to see a team 7 seasons into D1 win their first bowl game while we drop to 0-4. You are correct in that Coach LL cancelled practice only for the first full day down there. It was sitting in the high 80s, and the practice field is garbage. If you want to use the term "blew off", apply it to Coach Healy and "Club Lotte". Cancelled all of their practices, didn't hold a walk through the day before the game. While our players had curfews that saw them in their rooms progressively earlier each night, Charlotte had no curfew. The night before the game, we were walking through the casino at the resort at about 12:30 a.m.. A number of the 49ers were in there. Coach Healy needs to grow up and realize that he's their coach, and quit trying to be one of the boys. 1

No flights to the Bahamas available until Monday. American Airlines sent us home before the trip even started. We are very, very disappointed, but glad we are not stuck in an airport somewhere. 😞 Truth be told, this was shaping up to be an expensive trip. The hotels near the stadium are pricey and there are significant taxes and fees. We'll have to see if they will hit us with cancellation fees. This strikes me as a somewhat problematic venue for a bowl game, given the costs, logistics, and hit-or-miss weather. I'd imagine it's well off the radar for most students. No Ueber there and we understand the taxi drivers enjoy ripping off tourists. Will be interested to read experiences of others who were able to attend. To be honest though, most Bowl games are outside of a students ability to afford... The Bahamas Bowl combines some of the best bowl weather with a somewhat affordable packages... And this one is way more affordable than the spud bowl. I think as Buffalo makes bowl trips more often communities like UBFan (and Bull Run) should get better about having members pool resources. There are quite a few air B&B's down there, and hotels which are more affordable but not right by the beach there are also non uber ridesharing options like Bahrezy Transportation These are things we're not used to planning as a fan base, but we will get there. Next year, when we go Bowling Again 🙂 I'll do some digging on Bull Run for options to that bowl game.

This is what bit the Bills every year under Levy... Darryl Talley went to the bowl game with the Falcons and made a note of how different it was. Levy attitude was 'well they are professionals who don't need babysitting', where as other teams seemed to lock down to focus. Healy will get there I think, the guy has potential. I've heard that there was a marked difference in terms of discipline between Buffalo players and Charlotte players at the resort. Glad our guys enjoyed themselves in the Bahamas, but acted like they were there to play football.

If you want to make things more affordable make sure you have and use a hotel or airline credit card. I flew in game day morning and and spent Friday at a Courtyard by Marriott for free on my free anniversary night gift from their rewards program. If the game had been at noon, as it had been in the past, I would have flown home the same day and not needed a hotel in the Bahamas at all. The last flight out was at 7:23 PM and if the game ran long or had weather delays it would have been tight to make the flight, since you have to clear both security and Customs and Immigration in the Bahamas rather than when you reach American soil. Also I was able to cover the expense for all of my taxis on the island for free on winnings at Atlantis after the game. If you want to go to a the bowl game next year, start your planning and savings now. If you wake up on the day the games are announced and have to start having to put together and find the money to go it is probably too late. Ditto for March Madness.

That guy will remember #7. 2) Holding his passing posture on the fake that sprung Patterson for the big gain. That was a beautifully executed play by just about everyone on the offense, but the key was freezing the defense with the fake pass. I think I noted in the Bull Run gamethread, at the time, how well KVT sold the pass and how crucial it was given that we're a run first team. Everything about that situation said likely run, the score, the time left, our tendency, and KVT sat in there long enough to get the defense in position for the body blow by Patterson. Good advice especially for the Bahamas, however the Marrott Bonvoy program has turned to garbage since the SPG merger. See https://www.bonvoyed.com/ For big cities, I love Hyatt's loyalty program and credit card through Chase. Unfortunately, the Baha Mar in the Bahamas is just outside the free annual night category for Hyatt.
