Agreed with others, the song didn't match at all. The point comes across though, and I can't wait for opening day!

A prediction is that UB may have a decent size class of JUCO transfers this year.  Based upon some of the new "follows" by the coaching staff on Twitter it looks there has been a decent amount of contacts with JUCOs in search of this year's recruiting class.

This would make sense considering our staffs late start to the recruiting game.

My point is that there should be some honor and ethics in the recruiting game.  If a kid says he is reconsidering a verbal commitment then talk to the kid.  If the kid remains committed leave him alone.

The words "honor and ethics" are rarely ever stated when talking about recruiting in college athletics. You know this.

Not sure what you're getting at here Brook. Bottom line is verbals are just verbals, nothing is official until signing day, as we all know. Maybe there is some unwritten rule about not going after someone elses verbals, but if there is a coaching change anyone is fair game imo. Kids often times commit to a coach more so then the school itself. As BIE noted, the same thing happened to us during our coaching changes. Lance would be smart to at the very least gauge interest on these kids and let them know what he has to offer as a coach.

Thanks.

Looks like a decent get, nice size and good frame to add more weight.

This is an awesome video from CMU... They tricked the players in thinking the were going down the road to lovely detroit, when they were really going to the Bahamas

That is great

The following post below is my opinion, don't sue me.
**************************************************************************************************************************

As UB football fans do we really want UW-Whitewater to really go much farther? I mean Lance and his staff need to be in Buffalo where there is a lot of work to be done after Jeff Quinn's recruiting for the four years in my opinion. The sooner UW-Whitewater goes home the better for UB football we (UB fans) gain nothing with UW-Whitewater continuing there season much longer it puts off work that needs to be done at UB with UB football recruiting and getting the current UB football players offseason program for next season going with new playbooks, new weight training conditioning programs etc in my opinion. Let's Go Buffalo

Put yourself in their shoes.. Lance is leaving a program that he's been around basically his whole life. I would expect him to give nothing less than 100% to finish his last year as national champions. I hope he comes to Buffalo a defending national champion.

Still one of the greatest moments in UB history. The raw emotion from Turner during that interview, and directly after the emotion from Ward Manuel in a long hug. This meant so much to both of those guys, and the team. Something i'll always remember!

As someone else stated, I think the players are going to like him. I don't see too much roster turnover going in to next season, as I think most players will stay and want to play for Lance.

I like the hire, the only question will be the recruiting. He has a pretty damn good sales pitch though considering his ridiculous winning background.

I found the Turner Gill tidbit interesting, we would be lucky if Lance took us where Turner did in his time here.

Sitting alone, behind a closed, locked door in a darkened room illuminated only by the glow from my computer screen, WECKing.

Sounds about right

Happy for Mack but really a #5 pick should be more dominant than he has been.

From what I have been reading I think he is already being double teamed by everybody.  Many have him as the defensive rookie of the year and Merrill Hoge says he is the best linebacker in the league.

That doesn't sound quite right. No NFL DC would double team a rookie until they showed they needed to be double teamed.  Draft rep means squat.

PTR, it's clear you haven't watched many Raider games (I don't blame you). This isn't week one anymore, rookies aren't being prepared for and evaluated off of college film and hype videos. They are being evaluated off 9 weeks of NFL game film, and Mack has impressed every week. On top of everything already said, Mack is T-2nd in Tackles for Loss. If Mack had the sack numbers he would be a run away rookie of the year. He is still the favorite as of right now.

I've read the same thing. Seems to be front-runner for DRoY, and is being praised by all the "experts." They ran a re-draft on ESPN last week and had Khalil Mack going with the number one pick. I've also surfed various Raiders forums and all fans are extremely pleased with him and look at him and Derek Carr as the only bright spots of the season.

I like the helmets.. I'd be more excited if we were competing
14  UB Sports / Buffalo Bulls Football / Re: Let's talk about Joe... on: October 13, 2014, 11:52:40 AM
The words overrated/underrated are pointless. I prefer desciring him for what he is rather than labeling him against other peoples comparisons.

I think Licata is very good and one of our best QBs Ive seen us have. Even better than Willy because of his arm. Im in the camp that agrees play calling hinders him. His ability is beyond some of the vanilla nature of the calls I see. Hes a good leader and has ability to move the ball at will. He certainly isnt perfect. The occasional WR stare down happens but doesnt bother me when I know hes capable of scoring enough points to win MAC games. If we had a lick of defense this team would be pretty decent.

Better than Willy? That is a pretty big statement. I don't see Licata having the success that Willy is enjoying in the CFL after he graduates.

I don't know if his ability is beyond these vanilla play calls. He is a QB who should make his mark with his accuracy, considering his lack of a tight spiral and velocity. At times he can be outstanding, but far too often I have seen him over-throw the hell out of the ball. If the offense got any more "less-vanilla" I don't know how he would handle it.

To your point on the defense, you are right. The defense is our biggest issue but the inconsistency from Licata this year has not helped us either.
15  UB Sports / Buffalo Bulls Football / Re: Let's talk about Joe... on: October 12, 2014, 08:41:33 PM
I agree with your original post BFIC.  In fact, I believe I said almost identical things to an unnamed BullRun reporter sitting in front of me at the game yesterday.  Joe has clearly regressed.  Easy guy to cover........just watch his first look; wait five seconds, and after the ref has thrown the holding flag, go block his first look receiver.

I have watched the last 9 years of QB's............Joe's performance yesterday was likely one of the poorest.  He over threw; under three, and just generally was not crisp or decisive.

I am one of the biggest Pollyanna's on the Board, but tomorrow is Canadian Thanksgiving, and Joe delivered the turkey early.

Good post, sums up my thoughts well. If licata wasnt a local kid he would be looked at by the fan base very differently.
