2  UB Sports / Buffalo Bulls Football / UB Selected as Inaugural partner for ESPN U Production Intitative on: September 24, 2014, 03:34:48 PM

BUFFALO, NY - The Mid-American Conference and ESPN announced on Wednesday afternoon that the University at Buffalo has been chosen as one of three institutions selected to begin the ESPN University Production Initiative at their respective universities.  Chosen along with Central Michigan and Northern Illinois, the ESPN University Production Initiative will allow for a minimum of 35 sporting events at each school to be picked up on one of the ESPN Networks through out the year.

“As we continue to build America’s next big time college athletics brand, this is a huge opportunity for us,” said Athletic Director Danny White.  “With the ESPN University Production Initiative, we will now have the ability to showcase our great University, our facilities, and most importantly our student-athletes to over 230,000 alumni worldwide.”

In year one, the Bulls will be producing 37 events beginning with the men’s basketball exhibition game on Nov. 6.  The schedule of events will include the entire home men’s and women’s basketball schedule as well as all five home wrestling dual meets.  The package will also include the final four home matches for volleyball.

This initiative will also allow for ESPN to broadcast basketball postgame press conferences.

All 37 events will air on ESPN3, but ESPN will have access to cut to any event on their main station, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNews or during basketball season, the ESPN Buzzer Beater channel.

Offense off to another slow start, but we pick it up and end up making this one net very close at all.

As someone who watched the game with some friends, (who rarely every watch UB), I can say it was positive experience. My friends don't follow the MAC, they follow various bigger programs and they were surprised with the fan turnout. They also were surprised with some of our athletes. I think for a home game on a Friday night on ESPN, against one of the best teams in the country, it went pretty well.

9  UB Sports / Buffalo Bulls Football / Re: Which UB Football Player Breaks out in 2014? on: August 21, 2014, 02:44:04 PM
I voted for Boise Ross, as I have heard nothing but good things about him since he stepped on campus. There is opportunity there, and I think he takes advantage.

My runner up would be Jarrett Franklin. Playing behind Mack can only benefit him, and I think we will see him breakout. Would not be surprised to see him lead us in sacks this year

I agree with this post entirely. Bobcatattack has had hundreds of posts about what their football team looks like so far this preseason. We're coming off our second bowl season ever with a top-5 NFL draft pick and ubfan is dead with no posts about what the team looks like. Is anyone at these practices that can tell us what's happening? I've only read the couple of blips that buffalonews gave us in the campus watch blog but from what I've read the defense has been great so far in scrimmages. Plugging holes, stopping the run game. Does this mean the defense is great or the offense is struggling? I don't know. Someone on here must have a better idea.

I have heard similar things, I think our defense will have to carry us through the beginning of the season as our offense tries to find it's feet with both Neutz and Oliver gone. I think our WR's have a lot of potential and ability, but it remains to be seen if any of them can step up and be a number one.

love it. Maybe it's irrelevant, but I think it really does get the players pumped up and energized for the game. Can't wait!

This is crazy. I remember watching Clowney when he was still in High School and I thought he would be the greatest pass rusher in the history of the sport. His video looked like an NFL player who decided to step onto the field at one of his kid's games. He was twice the size and had twice the speed and skill of all the other kids in a pretty decent HS football state. It's still hard to believe that Buffalo had a guy on its roster who is now projected by some big time analysts as a better overall player than Clowney. It's incredible. I can't wait to become a fan of whatever NFL team he lands on. I'm buying his jersey immediately.

Same here man, I just really hope he doesnt go to the Vikings. As a Bears fan, I was planning on getting a Starks jersey wherever he went, with the exception of the Packers and Vikings. Obviously, being drafted by Green Bay I didn't get his jersey. I don't want the same to happen to Mack because not only will I not get his jersey but I have to see him tear my team up twice a year, like Starks seems to do.

I'm hoping for the Bucs, as I love there jerseys
