Two games I was definitely going to go to this year: VT @ Boston College  and  UB @ UCONN. and with my luck, they've both been scheduled for the same freakin day. son of a biitch

First thoughts:

Post Turkey day, at Akron?

No ESPN2 games.

Doesn't look as exciting as it has been in years past.

- -
Nonetheless, I can't wait.  I have a friend who plays for URI, I'm dying to see him play.  The next 3 will be a challenge, then straight into conference play at BGSU.

On second thought, it's not a bad schedule.

Lots of Saturday games. I like. Was never a fan of mid week games, cos kids have class, exams etc. I guess we can do that this year cos ESPN didn't want to pick up any midweek games. That's probably expected after last year's poor showing.

What I don't like is that after Sep 18, our next home game is Oct 23. That's a lot of time for things to go wrong.

Plus you missed the big one Shep,

Fri., Dec 3   Marathon MAC Football Championship   Detroit, MI

Can't wait for September 2nd!

I agree it isn't an appealing to the eyes as the past few schedules have been.  I think we caught a very... generous cross over schedule.  Probably the 3 weakest teams in the West.  Getting to avoid Central, Toledo, and Western was a nice surprise.  Northern is solid, Ball State and Eastern are pretty weak, or at least have been.

I also believe this is the first year we're not playing all 6 East teams and two West cross over games right?

Lastly, I really like the Saturday games.  While playing mid-week has it's advantages, like ESPN games, there is just something about playing on Saturday with the rest of the nation.  I'm a fan of it.

Early Predicton:  7-5 (5-3)

Looks to me like yet another season where we don't get 20 wins and an NCAA Tourney bid... are we even trying anymore??

http://www.ubathletics.buffalo.edu/football/news/ftb03-01-2010-schedule.shtml

Thursday, Sept. 2   RHODE ISLAND - Good way to start the season. Hopefully we can take care of business and get very valuable game time experience with the new scheme and QB before heading down to Texas.

Saturday, Sept. 11   at Baylor - Big challenge for us, but it will be good for us to get some exposure down in Texas. This will give our coaches a chance to contact some Texas recruits in person if they so choose.

Saturday, Sept. 18   UCF - A winnable game for us at home. Hopefully there is a nice crowd for this one. Dont see UCF come up here that often

Saturday, Sept. 25   at Connecticut - Toughest game of the year. As I have stated earlier, play hard and play with pride. Make it a good game and I'll be happy.

Saturday, Oct. 2   at BGSU - First conference game vs Bowling Green. Very winnable. Would be huge for us to start MAC play with a victory on the road

Saturday, Oct. 9   BYE - Good bye week. Gives the new staff time to re evalute things after one MAC game, and after playing some tough OOC games.

Saturday, Oct. 16   at Northern Illinois - Possibly the toughest MAC game. Hopefully I will make it down for this game if my schedule permits.

Saturday, Oct. 23   TEMPLE - Always exciting when Temple comes to town. Our first MAC home game. I expect a big crowd, and our team should be in the groove by now. Should be a good one

Saturday, Oct. 30   MIAMI - Home vs Miami should be a victory here

Thursday, Nov. 4   at Ohio, TBA (ESPNU) - Will be a tough game at Ohio. Love the fact its on ESPNU so we'll all be able to watch it.

Friday,      Nov. 12   BALL STATE, TBA (ESPNU) - Another favorable home matchup. Should be able to get that dubya on a Friday night

Saturday, Nov. 20   EMU - EMU at home.. we better not lose

Friday,      Nov. 26   at Akron, TBD (ESPNU/ESPN360.com*) - Could be a pivotal game in deciding the MAC. To bad it is in Akron. Hopefully this is not the last game for the season

Friday,      Dec 3        MACC in Detroit  - Would definitely make the trip to Detroit this time around if we made it.

I have to disagree with you on NIU being a weaker team in the west. I think they are the team to beat in that division. CMU has been neutered, WMU lost Hiller, and Toledo has to prove they can do it every week. BSU may surprise and you know they will be motivated for the Buffalo Game which started a twelve game losing streak for them. EMU may be better than last year but yea BSU and EMU are probably the two weakest teams in the west right now.

Agreed BIE. Orlando, you said that we play the 3 weakest teams in the west, and then you said Northern is a solid team. I think you mixed up your words lol

Finally UB gets to play Eastern Michigan. I was beginning to wonder if reports that they were still in the MAC were rumors. But no Kent State this year. I think it's ridiculous that everybody in the East doesn't play everybody else. The MAC has got to tell Temple to go all in or GTFO. I'd also rather see UB playing division games late in the season. This seems like a team destined to struggle at the beginning at the season. At least there are no Tuesday night games this year. Hopefully that will help with attendance.

Disappointing to see very little tv time, I thought we were on an upswing before... hopefully it will get more Buffalo folks to come out rather than sit at home and watch, at least.

I like the schedule.  I like getting three western teams this year, and of course seeing Temple at UB again.

Now that the schedule is out, I have started my annual planning.......I see catching all six home games; a road game @ Baylor, and another @ Ohio....in fact, I am starting to plan UB@Ohio on Nov 4; WMU @ CMU on the 5th (a long drive from Athens to Mt. Pleasant!); and Wisconsin @ Purdue on the 6th.........a triple header!!

Like the rest of you guys, I am ready for football.....especially UB (and OU!) football!

See you on the 24th of April at UB!
