I have to agree with the Ohio fan.  The vulgarity makes you and the school look bad.  I stopped taking my young kids to the games.  I wish Reggie would take control of the situation and let you guys know what is acceptable.  Sometime I wish he would grab the mic and tell you to SHUT UP!!!

I can't say things don't get vulgar. However, saying that any school isn't just as bad or worse would be a flat out lie

Is any other student section different? I think there is a common sense line being drawn here. If you're yelling "F the bobcats!!!" in the middle of the anthem, that ain't cool. However yelling, "home of the bulls!" or another nice quickly that is positive, then I don't see a problem with it.

Show me a student section that doesn't get the adrenaline rush...and show me one that doesn't and riled up for a game. That's what a student section is all about. We're the mighty maniacs...and we may act accordingly.

Happens here, but not during the National Anthem.

I have heard a USA USA USA chant after the anthem. Not disrespectful, but still gets the crowd into it.

ive actually had heartburn with this for quite some time.  i was a student at UB until 09, and hated it when the students sang at the end of the anthem.  i know that everyone on here is discussing whether or not it's disrespectful, but i think this should settle the score on it:
i returned from a deployment this year just in time to make it to the cornell game.  i went with a group of my buddies who had been overseas with me.  ive had season tix and been going to games for years, all but 1 of my friends (there were 6 of us) had never been to one before. when the student section sang "home of the bulls" at the end, my friends were so riled up and livid that they wanted to leave the game right away. they stayed through it and havesince had  no interest in coming back and supporting it. i had never thought about it, but everyday while i was deployed they played the anthem and we stood completely silently. there was no moving, screaming at the end high note, and certainly no inserting our own lyrics.
i hate to make such a serious post, but you're at the game for 2 hours, and have nonstop opportunities to let pppl know it's the Bulls' house. i think you owe it to yourselves, our vets, our fans, and our school to stand quietly for the anthem and cheer at the end. i know you feel it's not offensive and there's no harm being done, but i can assure you there are ppl like my friends who just see a bunch of young immature kids who are acting disrespectfully towards our flag (and im 22 saying this).
It would make a statement if trueblue decided there has to be SOME standards at the games for their section. i agree with harrassing and screaming fun things, i used to love doing that. there are rules that the arena has, you cant throw things, or scream racial comments or profanity. but there are just some rules that are unwritten, becuase it's expected you conform to them, to act socially responsible. this is one of those rules. GO BULLS

I do think it's bad form to do it at someone else's arena.
