Any of you guys close to the program know when the schedule will be out for 2012?  It's usually out around the end of February......just wondered if anyone had any heads-up info???

Thanks in advance......

With the Temple/nBe story breaking today about a possible 2012 move announced next week, it could be a while as the MAC decides what to do.

They don't have awhile

1) Kick out UMass
2) Keep UMass

if you kick out UMass bring BG back to the East done
if you keep UMass do the same schedule voodoo you've been doing with Temple

Agree with you, BIE.....no time to dither.  However, kicking UMass out is likely not an option; suspect the 13 team voodoo is the answer.

The MAC has to dither a bit, they have no choice but to wait for the official annoucement on what Temple does. Which so far sounds like next week, at the earliest. UMass will stay because we signed a contract and there's no way we put egg on our face as a conference the same way the old BE did kicking out a football affiliate.

YUP, sit around and wait while others dictate.  Sounds about right for the weakest conference in college football.

I would love to see Temple leave for the Big East next year and never winning a conference championship.  Will mH55 still make appearances on this board?

We're far more powerfull than the WAC and still ahead of the SBC. We added UMass in good faith because they fit what we, Temple, and UCF all added, new markets, sizable tv markets, and academics. Per the contract the MAC can amend the terms to 2-year deals. We can deal with 13 short-term if needed then let them go, take their $500K withdrawl penalty rather than breaking deals and kicking them out or find another team. Who knows, leaving BGSU in the West for football instead of yo-yo'ing them back could finally push them to do away with the divisions in other sports.

I totally agree.  I can't stand Temple athletics or their fans in general.  Hoping they move back to the BE and get clocked year after year.

Ideal cumpanace scenario would be TU paying through the nose to get FBall only and then AQ going away in 2014...

I see where mh55 posted ta-ta under another message............it was moving; coffee and hot peppers can have the same effect.

It would also be nice to beat them when they are an AQ. Is this a done deal. I haven't seen confirmation on ESPN.com yet. Unless Doogie has some inside sources...

From what I read on ESPN website.  Last year Temple signed a 2.5 million dollar exit fee and a 2 year grace period.  If they want to leave early the Big East will have to pay up.  Probably 5 million plus the exit fee.  Just, my guess.  WVU had to pay the BE 5 million exit plus an additional 15 million to exit early from the BE.  They had a 27 month grace period before they could leave.   The BE may also guarantee a certain amount of games over the next 5/10 years with MAC teams.  That is what the ACC did back in 2004.

Great idea someone had on NCAABB's for the 2013 season... Have each MAC east team play home and home with a rival

Kent / Akron
Buffalo / UMass
Ohio / Miami

Brings each of these teams back to eight

I like it.........

It would help to build/enhance rivalries; add the missing game; start to create a divisional feel; give us a better shot at a bowl game in the near term (at least)!

It'll never work...........  :-)
