As one of the highest UB baseball players drafted in the modern era (or ever). Im really interested to see how far Murphy can go.

We have had a handful of guys toil around in A and AA the last couple years. But murphy projects even higher with the bat.

He signed the max for his draft spot. Something around 450k.

Hes played 9 games with Single A Tri City

9 Games, .385 1HR 10RBI 1SB

A player of his calibr should smack around A ball pitching. Hopefully he can climb the minor league ladder quickly this year and progress well next year.

holy crap he's tearing it up! 10 RBIs in just 9 games?! I haven't seen those kinda single A stats since I saw jarrod saltamachia in person down in myrtle beach. Already 1 homer, 1 SB, and a .380+ batting avg....jeeeez...that ain't luck!

To be fair a prospect with his draft spot should be wrecking Single A short season. Cant wait to see if he can keep the bat going in AA and so on.

He currently has a 16 game hitting streak. Best in the Northwestern League this year.

Former UB Catcher Tom Murphy was named the South Atlantic League Player of the Week, and is now hitting .415 with 7 HR's and 23 RBIs in 2013

FYI, the Sally League tends to be one of the best in the low minors.
