Strange to see both weir and Watson not on any of the stat sheets considering I think most expected them to be our guard scoring threats this year. Injuries?

Also don't know what to think about a forward not named auraum shooting a three to end the game

Lastly, anyone know who this may be? http://www.ottawacitizen.com/sports/7090696.bin?size=620x400s

Tony is out temporarily with a broken foot that needed surgery. It happened this summer during practice. Stan is also out due to knee surgery which he is still recovering from. Both are expected to be ready to go for preseason.

That makes a lot more sense then.

Yep, just had to check quick if I was allowed to post it haha. Tony helped out TB with our orientations this summer so we got to hang out with him. We were all pretty worried when we found out but I guess its something thats been bothering him for years now. Hopefully now after surgery he can make a full recovery for this next season. Also, Tony and Carissa from the volleyball and a few others they brought from their teams helped a TON. It's the personal connections that really make you want to cheer even more for our athletes.

The mystery is further compounded by the fact that Regan is wearing the number that he (never) wore last year instead of his new #2.

Raley-Ross is looking like someone who could break out this year and provide another scoring option in the backcourt, which we could definitely use. His brother Brandis was one of my favorite players at South Carolina years ago. I'd love to see him live up to that. We have a great set of forwards already, we just need the backcourt to show improvement to put us in serious contention these next few years.

Losing to Carleton is embarrassing and it serves the Buffalo Bulls basketball team right for not being ready or tough enough down the stretch late in games in my opinion. This is one of the reasons why UB basketball comes up short every year in the MAC tournment under Reggie Witherspoon in my opinion. Don't worry Reggie Witherspoon excuse makers Reggie isn't going any where just like Buffalo Sabres coach Lindy Ruff jobs for life as mediocre head coaches in my opinion. Is that great for Buffalo basketball and hockey I guess that is in the eye of the beholder. I say no fire both of them but I want more for both Buffalo teams then average middle of the road teams. Let's Go Buffalo

This argument has been rehashed many times on this board and elsewhere since those 2 have been coaching in Buffalo and surely it will come up again during their upcoming seasons. I accept that it will continue to do so until both of them either win a title or get fired. I think we can all agree that we would like to see one of those things happen sooner rather than later, at least in Reggie's case. Why not this year?

It's a preseason basketball game in August for Pete's sake. Grasping for straws and making a fool of yourself, BSF. Calm down.

Losing to Carleton is embarrassing...

So should the many other D-1 teams who Carleton beats every pre-season be embarrassed, too? Carleton took KANSAS to a last minute game a few years ago and lost by 1. The only embarrassment is your assumption that the virtual Duke of Canadian college basketball stinks.

Carleton played UNLV last night and only lost 74-70. The same UNLV that made the NCAAs the last 3 seasons. Watch in a few days when Carleton likely challenges Northeastern of the CAA. That we lost on the final possession, playing with only three scholarship guards due to backcourt injuries, is not something worth UB fans hiding in shame about.

In my opinion:

--  You aren't really a Buffalo Super Fan, just a guy that likes to complain a lot
--  You need a dictionary
--  In that dictionary, look up the word "homophone" and see some examples
--  Buy the book "Eats, shoots & leaves" and read it.  Then impart the knowledge learned from that book in your next post.

Here is the deal.  I haven't been the biggest Reggie fan out there and I am certainly on the "Quinn was not a good hire" bandwagon.  But when you go on both topics and blast both Reggie and Quinn with your tired, rehashed, sometimes baseless (as RH points out) "opinions", it makes the rest of those who share the overall opinion that you do seem irrational.

I have to agree with you.  This was a bad loss and cause for concern because we had a significant talent advantage.  Even though this is just a summer exhibition, I hope it is not the first sign of another underperforming year to come.
