great vid...except for Reggie saying the "2008-09 MAC Co-Champions" part.  I can't be the only one who cringed there.

The video is wonderful, but I have a question after watching it.  What is True Blue?

At no time do you tell the incoming freshman, who the video is directed at, what True Blue is, how to join and what True Blue does.  From the video you know it has something to do with athletics and if you pay attention to the first few seconds you know that it is a SA sponsored club.

The video needs explain the questions I mentioned above by saying that True Blue is the Official Student Cheering Section at all sports.  If there is video of True Blue at the sports other than football and both basketball teams you should show it.  You will get athletes who participated in the other sports whose careers ended in high school to see that their former sports are supported by the entire student body.  You also have to mention the most important thing that True Blue does, officially sanctioned road trips to see the Bulls on the road and let them hear some friendly voices.

Also it is great to show how sunny it is at UB, but the sunglasses have got to go.

I think the salient point is that the football team, the tennis team, and the MBB team, ALL won or shared MAC titles.  And don't quibble about the RW's comment.  Remember, how much was made of the MAC East Co-champs in FB in 2007.

I'm sure that when they show this video to first-year students they'll be explaining the club and how to join.  Also, if someone doesn't get that TrueBlue is a student cheering section they're too dumb to be at UB.  "Welcome to the UB family..."  "This is your school"... "These are your teams..."  etc.

Also, advertising isn't all about selling the product at one particular time, but establishing the brand.  This video shows a ton of different sports and the fact that UB is starting to win consistently. It brands athletic events as exciting, and it shows the importance of student involvement. This isn't the only prong on the fork.  Paul and the guys will be promoting the heck out of True Blue at orientations and throughout the year.  They'll know all about it.  The video piques interest and shows what True Blue does.  And it does and excellent job.

Not sure what to make of the sunglasses comment....

AWESOME VIDEO! regardless of what some people might say about it.  Its great that it has already garnered some interest in the incoming freshman.  Im sure others will see it and want to join as well.  The best part of the whole video is when from the womens tennis coach said "be a part of our winning tradition"  Exactly what is needed.  Great Job by everyone who worked on it.  And the sunglasses of Reggie's, im assuming that what the reference was to, gave me a good chuckle when I saw them.

I doubt this will be used as a standalone promotional video, but then again, if it were, it would take a complete idiot not to put two and two together here..
