Great post B_I_E. I must be more optimistic than most on Lee and Neutz.

While the receiving corps are a big question mark, I think you are being a little pessimistic about the situation.  How times were Terrell, Ike, and Brandon's numbers called in the shadow of the seniors?  Looking at your numbers, these 3 accounted for 15% of our receiving yardage.  How much would they have gotten if they were starting?  Comparisons like this are difficult, because you can't extrapolate from incomplete data.  What were their completion percentages?

Keeping in mind also that Brandon Thermilous is a back, rather than a WR, and he still came in tied for 5th in reception stats.

Jeffvon Gill didn't get many touches, but he looked great on many plays, both running and receiving. (I will admit, that I may have selectively forgotten his broken plays)

I remain optimistic about these guys.  I don't think they had the opportunity to show their best consistently, and given the chance, can step up.

The biggest questions to me is Marcus Rivers, and if he gets over the dropsies, and who will be our deep guy.  Ike and Brandon are both end around, or dump and run guys.  Neither has the speed to get down field fast for a breakout play.

As far as the schedule, I do agree that the stretch between Baylor and NIU is critical to make or break the season.  Not only for Bowl contention, but also for fan support.  6 weeks with only one home game and a bye could be the death of local interest for the rest of the season.

Ideally, you would like to see UB go W-L-W-L-W-L through the first 6 games of the season, maybe sneak in an extra win if possible, though it would be tough.  I think that may be enough to keep interest alive.

Wrong! Ideally you would like to see UB go W-W-W-W-W-W for the first six games.  Your pattern may be a realistic view, but not an ideal view.

Seriously, you wasted time responding with tomato, tomato.  And you may want to go check Websters.
