  1. Past hour
  2. If they play together and run some sort of system that gets good looks and not just a group of chuckers, that play with defensive intensity, I will be happy.
  3. On one hand, we say these are kids and should have choice, etc. Now they need to be slick businessmen or hire agents or Uncle Rico to negotiate deals, etc. for them. Is the actual sport even important anymore? Good Lord.
  4. Still a couple of pieces to add. Hopefully one of them is the ball handler - that grad transfer from Bentley is an intriguing option. I realize he won't put up 20 ppg - but he could produce at a level similar to Foster.
  5. Michigan State would make some sense, but I think he likes the south now and the SEC. I think one of his daughters is a student at Alabama now too. Plus he's closer to the major talent producing states of Georgia, Florida, Texas, and North Carolina where. Not sure how much he'd value moving closer to "home." Can't see him going to Madison anymore either. He's turning Bama into as good of a job as any Big Ten job.
  6. I thought Michigan but the big raise took care of that. Maybe Michigan St when Izzo is gone.
  7. Today
  8. Agreed, always saw him there someday. Ambitious innovators who can motivate are a rare commodity. I think he's 5-8 more years at Bama then NBA. Kentucky is the only job he'd leave for now imo. He's got the perfect ratio of resources to expectations/scrutiny at Bama. Congrats to him on the Elite 8. That was a wildly entertaining game. And every red-blooded American I know enjoys seeing UNCheat's annual exit the tournament.
  9. Long Island Lutheran is the clear top program in NYS at the moment with an embarrassment of riches on the roster. The fact that Michaels started for them is a hopefully a strong indicator to offset his lack of rankings. I don't hate grabbing a glue guy with size from a program of that quality. VJ Edgecombe, the #5 player in 2024 heading to Baylor, was the top dog. Villanova and GH3 were after him hard when he was a mere top-50 recruit before he blew up. Their 2025 group has five guys in the national top 100, including Carmelo Anthony's son Kiyan. I was banging the drum for GH3 to go hard after LuHi 2023 point guard Jayden Reid as an available sleeper last spring (had a great freshman year at USF.) Our staff should know LuHi well. Re: Michaels, it's hard to get a handle on his game from the little info online. He seems like a big wing that will play the stretch 4 in the system that GH3 is pursuing. Likes to shoot the three. Speaking of that system, he certainly has a type of player that he prefers. I'm just wondering if we're ever going to add players that can dribble. Re: the Canadians and Brits, I think someone may have mentioned it already but their limited access to NIL income likely factors into our focus on them. Hopefully the staff finds some gems. What's the lineup look like right now? Fulcher/Sabol Boldin/Akot Batchelor/Wilson/Jackson Zaakir/Michaels/McVeigh Oboh A lot of unknowns and some intriguing potential, but it's hard to say that's a better roster than this year's.
  10. Trying to get some perspective on latest commit. Here is a breakdown of LI Lutheran roster sorted by PPG. You can see that this roster is loaded and full of P5 caliber players. Michaels' stats are most similar to Tajae Jones (RPS on verbalcommits of 3.04) who has offers from Quinnipiac and NIU. The potential seems to be there to play in the MAC - time will tell how he contributes.
  11. It will be interesting to see how recruiting the under the radar international players translates onto the court. I for one, am hoping the staff found some talented players.
  12. Probably not going to find anybody more passionate to lead UB wrestling than Stutzman, especially with him being an alum. Headscratcher for me.
  13. He was insane in this game, I didn't think he had this type of game in him. He was taking pretty much anyone off the dribble I've enjoyed having a rooting interest in a random big 12 program this season
  14. Sticks with the foreign theme of this recruiting class, great Britain and Canadian Also looks like another under the radar recruit, hopefully four year kind of player
  15. There's several leaders within P5 programs that think some of these issues need to be addressed as well. The biggest problem is that the NCAA is powerless. They tried to force 2nd time transfers to sit out a year but that was struck down in court. I don't think the majority of the P5 schools care about the money aspect but I do believe there's some anger about the unlimited transfers and players attempting to use NIL against in ways that are detrimental to their own schools.
  16. I’ve always thought that was his trajectory but honestly Bama has deep pockets and he is a genius at the college level. I don’t know if night in and night out pros wanna play his style. He’s perfect where he’s at. The only logical move is to a true blue blood. Otherwise he can be the next Saban at Bama.
  17. I haven’t listened yet but I plan to. Without having listened, it’s only a matter of time before those giving money wisen up and realize that they aren’t getting enough in return for their investment. Now we don’t know what the players do off the court when they receive NIL deals (what obligations they have and fulfill) but I can’t imagine boosters being happy pumping millions into a program that doesn’t win. Therefore I can see the funders essentially saying to a player, you want this money…you need to stay at this school for X amount of years. And the only way you can leave is graduation, coaching change or pro entry. Essentially NIL deals will become contracts and you will have full fledge minor league ball.
  18. CuJo leading Iowa St with 21 pts as they trail Illinois by 6 with 4:00 to go. With Bama advancing it’d be pretty wild to have another former Bull make it to the Elite 8. Illinois not making it easy Update: Curtis finishes with 26 including 8/8 FT but didn’t get enough help from his teammates to win. Will be interesting to see if he starts next year as a senior (assuming he stays).
  19. Gonna be a NBA coach in a few years if he keeps this up.
  20. Unless the P5 teams think it’s a problem, it won’t change. If they do, it will change but it will be geared to benefit them the most
  21. Football and basketball sucked, get rid of the wrestling coach.
  22. I went in-depth regarding some of the unintended consequences of NIL and the transfer portal and why it's absolutely vital that both be regulated in the near future. I also discuss why that's easier said than done with the NCAA being essentially powerless to do anything at the current moment. Let me know your thoughts!
  23. Here's a video I made with an in-depth breakdown of the consequences of NIL and the transfer portal and why they need to be addressed by the NCAA.
  24. I do not see any. He retweeted a bunch for his teammates. Lots of P5 offers, especially the kid that ended up at UConn.
