Someone else pointed out to me a couple minutes ago, 2 wins were by an idiot backup QB on ODU running onto the field and an idiot lineman on Ohio offsides on the final kick. However - a win is a win, and it feels great when they come back at the end like this. I had a lot of fun as one of 2 people most of the time up in 326.
At the end of the first quarter I thought, was there a gas leak in the locker room? The whole team was sleep walking. I can't recall an opponent rounding the end and going all the way untouched on UB like that since Donald Brown for UConn in the International Bowl.
I think Vantrease is a bang-average QB. No more, no less. I thought the pick he threw was probably due to the fact that the WR didn't cut back. I really appreciate and commend the leadership and character the team showed down the stretch - hopefully that is something they and the staff build upon. I'd like to see this team put together a whole game - not just play okay for half of it.
This came out more negative than it should've (or would've, had they lost). It was fun to see a win today, however it came about.
