  1. https://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=29141936 Do you think this'll happen? Do you think it's a good idea?
  2. We're talking about an NFL team that's been here for 60 years and an NHL team that's been here for 50 years vs. a College Program that's been in Division 1 for only 20. Ok. I'll admit I might be wrong about fan attendance. I was making an assumption based on what I've seen on other College Programs across the Country. My point is for the last 5 years, both UB Football & Basketball were starting to cement themselves into the Buffalo sports scene. Attendance went up, TV ratings went up. But now it's gone (at least for Basketball) Now we're wondering, can Whitsell bring it back or can another coach bring it back? Not only get back to where we were under Oats but surpass it as well. I apologize for bringing up a Conference change, but from what I've been reading I'm thinking that might help.

  4. As far as the Bills-Sabres country goes, winning will sell. Even if UB was a Power 5 School. If they were good and competing for National Championships, fans will show up. If they suck, the stadium/arena will be empty. UB does draw strong TV ratings when they have a big game on TV. Last year during the NCAA Tournament, they drew strong ratings. When the Football team faced Penn State, they drew strong ratings. They will probably draw strong ratings then they face Ohio State next year. Even higher then Sabres games. The Bills have come close to winning the Super Bowl. The Sabres have come close to winning the Stanley Cup. The closest UB Football has come to winning a National Championship was winning the MAC Championship & Bahamas Bowl, and the closest UB Basketball has come to a National Championship was getting crushed in the Round of 32.
  5. This was posted in the GDT when I mentioned Dayton. Dayton is a basketball school and has been for decades and decades before UB. The A10 and the MWC have been ranked among the top 10 conferences for the most part over the past 20 years. The MAC has been ranked in the top 10 twice in the past 24 years. I’m not sure what their coaches earn, but it probably dwarfs what UB pays Whitesell. In the last game at Dayton over 13000 fans were in attendance, at San Diego St there were over 10000. You can not remotely put UB in the same class as those two programs at this point. And should UB remain in the MAC, it will never achieve the status of either as far as basketball is concerned. By the way, there were 3700+ fans at Alumni Arena tonight to cheer on the women’s and men’s teams. I've been hearing rumors of UB joining the AAC. Could that be what the doctor ordered?
  6. Forgive me. I'm new to College Basketball but I don't see why not? Look at Dayton. Last year they were like us. Had a 20 (21) win season and flamed out in the 1st round of the A10 Tournament. This year they're #3 in the entire Country. San Diego State too. Another Mid Major team in the top 10 (and Gonzaga) What do you think these schools have over UB, and why fans here think UB might never get back there?
  7. 20 wins this year. To put into perspective we had 20 wins in our 1st year under Nate Oats.
  8. Congratulations to the Bulls Patterson was a beast tonight. But a shout out to the O-Line as well. They were great.
  9. Heading into this season I was predicting the Bulls would qualify for a Bowl game. Maybe not MAC Championship, but a step down. I was feeling very confident after the Penn State game, deflated after the Liberty game, and now I don't know what to think. Hopefully we can get 4 more wins (although we might need more to make up for the Liberty loss.)
  10. Very disheartening to see that after the Penn State game. I'm trying to be optimistic and say this is a young and rebuilding team but today was a harsh reminder that they have a long way to go
  11. The Buffalo Bisons have just signed a deal to air 10 games on channel 4. https://www.wivb.com/amp/sports/buffalo-bisons/buffalo-bisons-and-nexstar-broadcasting-partner-to-air-10-game-schedule-on-the-cw-23/1945522199 Since this is happening do you think UB could ink a deal to play games on a major network? They drew strong ratings and if they had a TV deal more people would jump on the bandwagon.

  13. UB fans should be proud of this season. I admit. I'm jumping on the bandwagon. I've enjoyed watching both teams this season. I'm a little disappointed that the Football team didn't win the Dollar General Bowl and the Basketball team didn't get to the sweet 16, but I'm still proud of both teams. (I'm not mad at the Basketball team. I'm mad at the selection committee for under seeding them and they ran into Texas Tech way too early) I hope they keep growing and one or both of them bring a Championship parade to Buffalo. Also a shout out to the Womens team
