  1. If this team doesn't go wire to wire and keep their foot on the gas for 40 minutes straight, they sure do suck, eh? Take a look at any ranked team and see how consistent they all are this season...hint, they're not.
  2. If FLJ leaves for Cuse, so be it...she has more than earned an opportunity in a power conference if she so chooses. I understand the taking half the roster concern, but in thinking about it for months now, it would be somewhat shocking to me if FLJ totally left the cupboard completely bare and essentially tore down what she has built here in an instant. Fair going to Cuse for a year, yes I can see that to potentially improve draft stock playing against more ranked opponents, but players like Woolley, Wilson, etc would be a real disappointment to lose. I can't say it would ruin the legacy of FLJ for me but it would sure leave a sour taste if most of the roster left with her.
  3. Uh oh, now I'm scared. Senderoff might be mad. You know, he could also use the fact that his starting 5 scored a whopping 35 total points as bulletin board material.
  4. Oh come on...how about don't throw the ball away. Have some fun and throw one down. This isn't modified ball. Whitesell is no fun.
  5. UB had a decided athleticism advantage which they exploited well in addition to Adeyeye and Christie dominating the glass. Rebounding has been a weak point for the Bulls but they showed great fundamentals and drive on the glass tonight. If Ade and Christie can play close to this level consistently, the women should run through MAC play, even without much of a bench, as no team can match our guard play.
  6. A 0% chance to win this conference...lollllll. Is Gonzaga, Baylor or Duke moving into the conference mid-season?
  7. Covid is afraid of the SEC
  8. Hey, at least everyone will be safe now.
  9. While the men are again getting all the attention from this board, the women have started 3-0 in MAC play, cruising to a 16 point road win over BG, who entered on a 5 game win streak. Oh yea, Dyaisha Fair dropped FORTY....on 14 of 22 shooting. The team was once again short-handed with Young still out and a few other reserves missing and just 7 players touched the court. The starting 5 combined to shoot 29 of 52 from the field, sparked by a huge 2nd quarter. A comprehensive road win over a solid team, especially after nearly blowing a big lead on the road to Miami Saturday, shows that this team is truly locked in. Great job from Coach Jack and the staff for rebounding after the last 2 non-conference games and buckling down.
  10. Good offensive showing...defense less than ideal. Fortunately CMU coughed it up around 30 times, the majority of which were unforced. This CMU team is not very good but a Conference win is what it is. Will need to shore up the paint defense and rebounding. Not sure what was the issue with Young, assuming covid related as she was not on the bench. Hopefully she returns soon as she had been playing well.
  11. Let's shut it all down again...everyone get tested, no, tested twice!
  12. Is there a specific issue occurring in Lewisburg? Unless a number of players/personnel specific to one of the team's came back with positive tests, I do not see a game not being played. There have been some postponements/cancellations around the NCAA this season but it seems like they are far fewer than last season.
  13. I watch every game...it was bad loss bc of the situation they found themselves in OT. Frustrating in that a big time opportunity was missed and that Summer took 2 shots.
  14. Right, assuming all else was equal, they could've won by 10 if not for a brutal start but they were still in a position to win in the 2nd half and also in OT against a shorthanded team.
  15. The T to start OT comes back to haunt them in part...also Fair was the only one taking shots all game but the ball is not in her hands when down 3?
  16. Fair takes 29 shots, Hemphill took 2...that sums it up. Did not change their approach against a shorthanded team in OT. Just brutal.
  17. Lost to a team down 3 starters nearly the entire OT...this turned into a bad, bad loss.
  18. VCU was leading South Florida for much of the game yesterday but faded late...would've been a nice boost for UB. Anyway, UB jumped one spot in the NET, up to 43. Princeton dropped back all the way to 40 after a home loss to #135 Seton Hall. Tomorrow's game is still a big one. Bucknell has also dropped back to 103 despite not playing since the 6th. Toledo is now the second highest MAC team at 75, while Ohio has risen to 88 and Kent has fallen back to 97, likely due to playing D2 Clarion this weekend. Still, four in the top 100 is a very good thing for the MAC. Princeton is good defensively but have given up 70+ in their last two to Fordham and Seton Hall...UB is better than both those teams. Will be tough but if they continue to share the basketball and create turnovers I like UB's chances tomorrow.
  19. A big final three non-conference games all against quality opposition...UB is currently 46th in the NET rankings. URI comes in at 53, so a quality win on Sunday. VCU is 57th, Princeton is all the way up to 20 after beating FGCU on the road and Bucknell is 81. Winning all three would of course be a massive boost to a chance at an at-large, as that would give UB five top 100 wins, with Cuse currently at 84th. Winning 2 of 3 would likely still keep UB firmly in the conversation heading into MAC play. Elsewhere in the MAC, Kent St is 73rd, Ohio is 100th, Toledo 126, Ball St 142, NIU 152, BG 157, Miami 182, WMU 190 and EMU, CMU and Akron all over 200. By my rough estimates, I would only put the WCC and Summit ahead of the MAC in terms of mid-major conferences this season, so UB and/or Kent can definitely play themselves into an at-large position.
  20. Solid win today...would like to see not so many offensive bounds given up but other than that a good performance, particularly from outside. It is nice to see this team can get contributions from different players and not need to rely on one or two in order to win games. Another tough one Wednesday with a chance to finish 5-0 at home in non-conference.
  21. Also, the final four non-conference games are huge for any at-large hopes the team may have, especially with the expansion of the field to 68...Rhode Island is 7-1 including a win over Princeton, VCU is an always strong A-10 program, Princeton is the class of the Ivy and just defeated a ranked FGCU on the road last night and Bucknell is a decent team in the mix for the Patriot League bid. Four wins would of course be a massive step towards the at-large chances. Going 3-1 would likely keep the at-large hopes alive heading into MAC play.
  22. I give credit to NU for at least trying something different with pressing most of the game, although it worked a few times early on, UB did not really have many issues bringing the ball up. The biggest issue for UB was trying to be too unselfish at times rather than simply attacking the rim continually...NU is also possibly the worst team I have seen lately in getting back off of missed shots as this led to about a dozen easy UB fast breaks. The Parker's are both solid, the play hard and confident....not a ton else for NU, especially in terms of offense. The guard play from UB was again very strong...McEvans continues to be a high motor player that this team really needs (see first half of JMU game) while Young has been a steady presence in handling the ball, allowing Fair to play off the ball much more. I would also expect Woolley to continue to get solid minutes as she is clearly capable of providing a big spark, especially in MAC play. Post depth is certainly an area of concern...Christie has been off this season so far and still unsure as to if Gaba will return this season. Hemphill staying healthy and Adeyeye staying out of foul trouble will continue to be of the upmost importance to the team's success.
  23. Ohio lost by 18...spread was 12. Is the Bobcat board freaking out? Have they now relinquished the team to beat label they held in the first half? Doesn't seem they have much depth either...imagine that.
