It’s going to dire.
Honestly take your negativity elsewhere. It’s the offseason. We’ll have plenty of time to cuss and throw fits. This is GH’s team now. We can be realistic but still optimistic until it’s time to roll the ball out.

Previous staff didn’t even trust him on a swing pass. Amazing.

All she had to do was mention Buffalo once during her interview, and that alone could have ramped up recruiting for future years
She has said multiple times that Syracuse is her “hometown team”. Whatever.

Nah. As far as I’ve heard she doesn’t mention Buffalo at all…ever. Best of luck to her, but she’s not #ForeverABull

This could be a fun team to watch!
To be fair, if this were GH3 you all would be roasting him for bringing in someone with .6 pts per game last year, only scoring in 1 game. Hopefully she has more upside.

Toledo WBB hired the Monmouth coach who beat us in the WNIT

Wow. I get it, but it's going to be a challenge to get Bama consistently to the level that Cal had Kentucky. The resources, facilities, NBA connections, etc are just different.
Aside from Brandon Miller, Oats hasn't really sniffed the best talent in the country yet. Maybe this Final Four run will change that, but it's the next step needed to consistently challenge the blue bloods. Let's see if his recruiting cranks up now with his new contract and success.
Since NIL Oats has been much better than Kentucky every year. There comes a point of diminishing returns with money. Oats will be fine.

Those are the two big questions right now. I think Oats could become one of the best coaches of this generation if he goes to Kentucky. Knowing how much he cares about winning, it's hard for me to see him turning down that type of opportunity.
What can Kentucky offer that Alabama can’t? Seriously. I know Kentucky is the “blue blood”, but Bama has just as many dollars to offer. Oats just went toe to toe with the likely back to back champion in the Final Four. Clearly he can do it at Bama too.

According to the Twitter machine BH raised over $300k NIL dollars a few weeks ago.

I’m no economist, but I have to imagine the $$ their men’s and women’s programs bring in from TV, merch sales, etc would offset a good a chunk of that. That is, after the Big East gets their cut.
Nope. The athletic dept runs a $40-50 million deficit, even after all that. The university covers the deficit to balance the books.

I always hated them too, but now one of my kids goes there and all the winning has started to grow on me 😂
The winning vibe/culture/pride is palpable around campus, something it would be nice to see at UB if we could ever get it together on that kind of level. 🤘
The university subsidizes the UConn athletic dept to the tune of $40-50 million per year bc they deem it important. It’s just priorities.

I hope Oats and Bama get boat raced.

The Big Ten and SEC didn’t even take a meeting. So looks like more just an opinion column than anything with traction.

Anyone familiar enough with WBB to know how the other MAC programs - Toledo, Ball St, Kent - have faired?

Wow, Ogden is a surprise. The other 2 maybe not as much since freshman and transfers are coming in at their positions. That opens things up a bit.
in other news, Syracuse women is losing one of their solid freshman to the portal too. Nobody is above the portal.
For someone like Hattie, I would think it has more to do with wanting to be re-recruited and see what your market is rather than unhappiness.

Hearing some rumors Toledo is chasing Adams and offering him a bag. Will be interesting to see where he ends up.

D1 limits are 15 for women’s basketball.
If all of the roster and coaching movement is done, this is a massive win for Burke and she absolutely proved me wrong. Portal is still open for about a month, but so much happens early on. Retaining the MAC FOTY and the conference’s top scorer (who I have to think has a degree by now, meaning transfer without sitting out is a possibility) is also huge.
Again, any player can transfer infinity times without having to sit out. Graduate or not.

We had a lot of talent on the field, but much less on the sideline. We kept 95% of the team and all the recruits. I really think this could be an 8 win team given the improved staff
I’d settle for a non-conference win to start 😂

we won't be able to add any veterans that anyone wants without NIL.
Lots of our peers and programs with less resources but better teams than us this past year in the same boat. Bowling Green won 20 games with a brand new coach. Think they’re handing out stacks of cash?

That’s why I don’t understand the urge to remove the track when we don’t know if we will have the sport. I can’t imagine any SUNY school having millions to cover the worker’s compensation cost.
Almost all schools in the G5 down through FCS and Division 2 and 3 are in the same boat. Politicians won’t let that happen and the resulting Title 9 implications. Most student athletes don’t even want to be employees. Let’s just see where it goes.

Toledo dodges another bullet and keeps Kowalczyk. Our old target Calhoun from Youngstown State gets the job out west.

No, when Graham was granted the ability to play this season, basically the court ruling said there can't be transfer sit-outs anymore so anyone can go anywhere, anytime regardless of previous transfers or what year you are in. It's currently the wild west. Maybe it will change, but it will be a court ruling and I'm sure everyone already in the portal will be protected.
Only restriction upheld was they can’t transfer in-season and be eligible immediately.

Definitely thought we were Graham's third transfer and thought he was stuck here. No crocodile tears for a very underwhelming player. Best of luck to him.
We were. Unlimited transfers now. All eligible right away.
