  1. How might this affect NIL? Many companies forbid employees from accepting compensation from outside sources. How could this impact schools with unprofitable sports programs? Should school administrators be allowed to fire athlete-employees without coaches making that decision? Will the hiring of athletes have to follow the same rules as other hirings?
  2. I’m a UB alum. I go to every home volleyball game, women’s basketball game and softball game. I used to attend every home men’s basketball game (since 1971) but stopped very recently. Why? The facility, the parking, the concessions, the restrooms, the postgame traffic control all suffer from even moderately large crowds at AA. For me it’s just not worth the aggravation. I don’t attend football games for other reasons but the perception that you’re sitting a mile from the players certainly doesn’t help.
  3. I don’t throw good money after bad.
  4. He has the right to mock anyone he wants and you have the right to not like it. Until UB gets serious about building and supporting winning programs, and until someone can show me a positive correlation between private donations and success on the court/field, I’ll keep my money in my pocket.
  5. And didn’t UB cut a handful of sports around 7 years ago to save money? They’re very unlikely to add another sport.
  6. Couple of unusual moments in the game…UB scores easy layup inbounding under their own basket after bouncing ball off the defenders butt. Late in 2nd quarter UB player drives to basket and gets called for foul…she then threw the ball onto the floor near the defender and very clearly mouthed “a$$hole” in front of the ref - no call.
  7. Yes. Any of 1 or 2 fewer unforced TOs (traveling), 1 or 2 more kick-outs to an unguarded Ogden beyond the arc, 1-2 fewer attempts to drive in the paint against 3 defenders, 1-2 fewer cheap calls from UB-killer Steratore.
  8. Oh, I wasn’t excusing the inbounding violation because I couldn’t see what happened from my seat. Rather, it was my dismay at refs for not applying the same attention to detail when it came to 3 sec violations. As far as the throw-in, I thought players could move but not more than 3 feet. No?
  9. Just an aside… In a close game like this every possession counts. I had to shake my head when ref called an inbounding violation on UB (I assume the player stepped on the line), but completely ignored several pretty obvious 3-second violations by Akron.
  10. Could be in some small part that I can go to a BB game and be close to the court instead of sitting 100 feet or more from the action at a FB game; that I can see the BB players’ faces and recognize them on and off the court; that there are several-fold more home BB games than FB games. Basketball is by its very nature more intimate than football.
  11. Extension based on what exactly? Having most of the team and staff walk away? Win-loss record?
  12. I’m unclear how to find a player’s “worth”. Is that an objective or subjective value?
  13. Bench was in until ELAM ending. Still won by 21.
  14. Is the 13 number stuck in my head for NCAAM?
