That’s fair. I think we are mostly in agreement here. Back with oats we won some of these big games. Under whitesell and this group we have not. It’s that simple. And sadly our future looks way less talented then what we currently have. So forgive the fans for being a little worried here…

No it wasn’t. First off Michigan is way better than Bonnies. Second, Bonnie’s were missing best player. Third, this is the 4th game that we have played with a total lack of discipline and consistency. We pulled out one of them luckily vs N Texas. Fourth, this is coming off a disappointing 20/21 year with Williams and Graves. We are mediocre. It’s really that simple. We should be able to win one of these tough games every once in a while, but we hardly ever do. Certainly not with Whitesell and this core squad. Also the showing by the team is piss poor, they play like shit for 75% of a game and then roar for 25%. That type of spotty play has got to be partially on coach, no?

Played well? What game were you watching? We played well for like 5-8 mins of the entire game. Fagan was the only player on the team that played well. Maybe segu. Williams came alive at end… but he played terrible for 75% of the game. We are not really good. We are prob an 80-100 ranked team which is a major bust considering the talent and experience on the team. We have the ability to be very good, but we have yet to show any signs in hitting that potential. We can, there is still time… but we better pick it out quickly. Good news is, we just really need to get hot right time during MAC tourney to make noise. Nonetheless, you can’t take out your anger on us for pointing out the obvious. No we don’t want to just bitch- we are spending our time on this forum just like you - so obviously we care. We just don’t wear rose color glasses that force us to say we did a great job today or so far this season. Cause we haven’t unless you expected extreme mediocrity.

Normally I’d agree, but sadly it seems like you can just cut and copy your first paragraph for any game we play against a team that is ranked 100 or better. Ironically felt the same for UB football too. We had talent, but always found ourself playing terrible and digging ourselves in a hole before we decide to string some positives. Most the time too late…

Clearly we were not - but that is clear from watching our team all year. We are mediocre at best with the ability to score quickly in bunches. That wasn’t my point. My point is, Bonnie’s aren’t a 27th rank team without their best player.

Im officially on the fire whitesell train. I don’t often comment on coaching changes, but he is squandering arguably the two most talented players in UB history (Williams and graves) and like someone said in thread, we hardly even know who will be on our roster next year. Our best days are clearly behind us for the foreseeable future and that is not good enough. Only way for him to salvage this is to win MAC championship. Period.

I never said a word about whitesell either. Y’all can check every post I ever written. It’s time…

Ironically - Williams is playing the way he and we expect right now. It’s just too spotty- that’s the problem.

Filling up a stat sheet is not a success. Someone has to score the points. In order for Williams to reach his full potential he needs to win big games, play consistent, be a leader - far more than simply score a bunch of points in a lot of losses when it counts. Nothing against Williams. I think he’s great. But when he looks back at his career at UB he wont be (and shouldnt be) happy with its ceiling.

We should pin this handful of posts - cause this is the truth.

We need a run now if we want a chance to steal this game.

It’s good point… this is the best case for whitesell failing tbh. Arguably Two of Ub’s most talented recruits falling way short of ceiling. Graves was way better under oats too- although obvi he has the benefit of being 3rd/4th option to that beastly team.

Fagan and segu are the only ones playing semi good basketball at this point.

Williams is such a disappointment. So much potential and flashes of greatness, but just doesn’t have it. I thought he had a chance to be one of the best UB players ever.

What can be more disappointing then the 1st half… easy, the 2nd one. We should be ashamed.

Perhaps. But we have to be honest with ourselves. The team is disappointing. They are supposed to be experienced. That usually means limiting mistakes, and consistency in certain areas of strength like rebounding. But every game nothing is further from truth. Bonnies are good, but they are missing best player. And again, this happens every game real game we have. So it’s the frustration you are seeing. It’s alarmingly similar to the football team to be honest. Yikes.

So what. They gave us the travel and a few. It’s not the difference. The difference is that none of our shots are falling and out experienced seniors are always inconsistent.

Yeah, stop with the bitching about fouls. We aren’t losing cause fouls. Every game people complain about fouls - give it up.

Close but Bonnie’s are better even without their best player. Hardnett, Fagan and Segu look good. Williams is a mess, way too inconsistent. Hopefully he comes out with the fire he is usually good for quarter or 2. For a team with so much “experience” which telecast always raves about - we always play sloppy like a rookie team. We can certainly still win this one, but Bonnie’s have clear edge.

Our discipline and consistency is so bad. Come on boys, tighten up and make some buckets please.
