  1. Wish him well, but DePaul doesn’t exactly seem like a step up from Davidson. Went 3-29 last year (0-20 Big East) and haven’t made the NCAA tournament since 2003-04. Assume NIL $$ was a factor. Nice player, too bad he couldn’t have been a Bull all 4 years (or 5) and be more than just a footnote in UB MBB history. With 3 teams in 4 years, sadly he won’t leave much of a legacy behind at any of those schools.
  2. I’m no economist, but I have to imagine the $$ their men’s and women’s programs bring in from TV, merch sales, etc would offset a good a chunk of that. That is, after the Big East gets their cut.
  3. I always hated them too, but now one of my kids goes there and all the winning has started to grow on me 😂 The winning vibe/culture/pride is palpable around campus, something it would be nice to see at UB if we could ever get it together on that kind of level. 🤘
  4. Alabama made it very interesting for about 36:00. Shot out of their minds from 3 in the first half but only made 3 after half to finish just under 50% at 11/23. A testament to UCONN’s D that they didn’t get off a lot more than that, and also had ZERO fast break points. But what a game for Sears, I sure don’t miss watching him terrorize UB with all his impossible shots.
  5. We already have 1 before tipoff We’ll have to give TBS a pass on “Of” instead of “At” 😂
  6. On ESPN pre game show they were saying Bama needs to make at least 16 three’s to have a chance. I think they’ll have trouble if they shoot 30% or less, unless they put up like 60 and make 18 of them 😂 It’ll be tough to match the drama and excitement of the Iowa-UCONN women’s game last night. Just hoping for a good competitive game. And to hear UB mentioned at least once 🤘
  7. Alabama +11.5 vs UCONN tonight. Will be interesting to see how much they play up Nate’s connection to the Hurley Bros. It would be cool to re-live some of his moments at UB as they tell the tale of Nate’s rise from HS math teacher to the Final 4 in the span of a decade. Storybook stuff! Big test for him and the Tide, would be a huge upset if they could pull it off.
  8. Nice to see UB at the top of the MAC in their scoring, and interesting that the newest member of the MAC is 2nd. Take it for what it’s worth I guess, won’t really matter unless we start trending upward in football and MBB, and continue the upward trend that BB has WBB on. Need to get back in the discussion of top teams in the MAC in all 3 sports!
  9. I don’t see what other option we fans have but to be patient under the current state of affairs. Unless there’s some miraculous influx of cash from donors or a major change in philosophy from the University from an athletics funding standpoint, best we can hope for are competitive teams with coaches that are building their resumes and are gone after 3-4 years if they’re lucky. The days of coaches sticking around for 10+ years with one program are gone, unless they’re the types that are churning out mediocre teams or like in Toledo’s case with MBB, very good regular season teams who can’t win when it really counts. Personally I’m going to enjoy the ride with WBB as long as BB is around, continue to look forward to Coach Lembo’s first season this fall, and hope that GH3 and staff are smarter than we think and start turning it around. Go Bulls! 🤘
  10. Nate beat Bobby Hurley and ASU in 2019. Now he will face Danny Hurley and the Huskies. Much tougher test
  11. CuJo leading Iowa St with 21 pts as they trail Illinois by 6 with 4:00 to go. With Bama advancing it’d be pretty wild to have another former Bull make it to the Elite 8. Illinois not making it easy Update: Curtis finishes with 26 including 8/8 FT but didn’t get enough help from his teammates to win. Will be interesting to see if he starts next year as a senior (assuming he stays).
  12. 12 seed Grand Canyon coached by sharp shooting Bryce Drew of Valparaiso fame, giving the big boys of Bama all they can handle.
  13. Her addition could bode well for WBB’s home attendance next season. That and Watson vying for leading scorer in the nation and the Bulls legitimate contenders for a MAC championship.
  14. CuJo with 14 pts including 3/5 from 3, 4 assists, 4 rebs & 0 turnovers in 27 minutes as Iowa St moves on to the Sweet 16.
