I’m not saying she got the offer but I can see a (possibly unlikely) scenario where she would say no to Syracuse to be at UB with Jack for his senior season and where it’s too late in the summer for Syracuse to move on a reasonable plan B. This would be a good year to groom our coach in waiting and get the recruits to buy in. My concern is seeing Fair in Orange. She was a huge get for FLJ and she’s at UB because of FLJ. I don’t either except if she would’ve taken the job this close to the season. School starts in a couple weeks, to me it would’ve been unfair to the players on the roster. I don't think it's throwing in the towel for them, they promoted a decent assistant to keep some consistency and hold their core together. They don't screw two teams right before school, they aren't getting recruits anyway, you are where you are. I think she is definitely on the short list for the permanent position. Kudos on both sides for trying to do this and not pull a Kansas football situation. With that said, I still think we are as well off, if not better than we would have been had LL stayed. The OL and DL play could change my mind, but everything I see exudes confidence and energy, so I full expect these guys to be prepared and will work hard. Don't forget how many transfers out SU had. The towel was already thrown. Maybe Syracuse thought Jack would bring all of UBs best players with her this year but her son transferring probably prevented that. I bet she's done after this year, though.
