Women at BG

While the men are again getting all the attention from this board, the women have started 3-0 in MAC play, cruising to a 16 point road win over BG, who entered on a 5 game win streak. Oh yea, Dyaisha Fair dropped FORTY....on 14 of 22 shooting.

The team was once again short-handed with Young still out and a few other reserves missing and just 7 players touched the court. The starting 5 combined to shoot 29 of 52 from the field, sparked by a huge 2nd quarter.

A comprehensive road win over a solid team, especially after nearly blowing a big lead on the road to Miami Saturday, shows that this team is truly locked in. Great job from Coach Jack and the staff for rebounding after the last 2 non-conference games and buckling down.

When Fair goes off like that it’s incredible. She’s such a scorer. The ladies are building something that could be special.

I think Fair is destined for the WNBA. We all thought Cierra Dillard was but Fair is the real deal. Hope we hear her name at the draft one day. Frankly I'd rather she leave for the WNBA early than transfer to Syracuse.

I'd rather she just stayed put and use up her eligibility in Blue and White, at UB.

It's also great when she scores with efficiency. You see people drop 30 on 25% shooting and that's usually a bad team outcome. Nice job to her and the team.

Heard McEvans done for the year. Doesn’t sound promising with whatever is going on with Young either. So that spot will be thin.

Terrible news on McEvans and also what is wrong with Young. Further depletes their bench strength. Now time for some of the reserves that have not gotten very little playing time to step up like what happened with the men last night. Have confidence in the coaching staff to get some players into the mix. Still concerning with Adeyeye’s foul troubles and Christie not showing any progress in her play. Only hope there are some players on the bench that can contribute. Another great game last night by Fair and Hemphill especially with Woolley having a rough game. The next game against Kent State will be another test as they have a big and athletic front court and a little surprising they are 0-3 in the MAC. Overall in the MAC Central Michigan lost again and Ohio has had their first three MAC game all postponed because of Covid!! Hope we can see a big and enthusiastic crowd on Saturday. This team is deserves fan support and when the students come back hope we can get more student support than just a handful that show up for their games. Go Bulls!!!

Women’s Basketball Schedule Changes

BUFFALO, NY – The Mid-American Conference announced today that next two University at Buffalo women's basketball games, January 8 vs. Kent State and January 12 at Ohio, have been postponed due to Covid-19 protocols. Efforts will be made to make these games up at a later date.

Earlier this season, the MAC announced that it has modified its 2021-22 COVID-19 rescheduling policy. The decision was unanimously supported by the Conference's Directors of Athletics due to the current rise in COVID cases and its impact on winter sport programs. If possible, games that cannot be played as scheduled will be rescheduled. If a game cannot be played and cannot be rescheduled, it will be considered a no contest.

The MAC Medical Advisory Group will continue to monitor and discuss the current circumstances and, if necessary, may adjust the current protocols. All contests will remain subject to national, state, and local health guidelines.

Season ticket holders and fans who have tickets for this game should hold on to their tickets, as every effort will be made to make up this game.
