St Bona won't be able to find tickets.  The Bulls have too many fans now and they will turn out in full force to see the team stomp on their biggest rival again this year.

    Biggest rivals?

I think you are confusing them with Syracuse. A team who has had a notable accomplishment or two in the last 50 years.

One question...why do I keep reading “Turner’s offense?” Last I checked he’s an assistant and never been a head coach. Therefore he is assisting in implementing someone else’s offense. Yes the staffs he’s been on have been run by coaches whose offensive style and pace are awful but they are in no way Turner’s offense. We have no idea what kind of offense he will run as a first time coach.

Are we that jaded by Reggie that we automatically associate Battle with him and think Battle will operate as Reggie did?

I can't speculate any better than anyone about Battle as a potential coach, but considering he was known as Mr. Textbook, I wouldn't expect the high tempo free flowing play that we've recently grown accustomed to. Anything is possible, and I loved him as a player but I'd be very skeptical.

There was a lot of fans in the stands for that one. I was one of them! I'm sure the Bulls fans will come out from every nook and cranny to get there.

But the thing there was everyone wanted us to slay a blue blood. We’re less established than either of our potential opponents but we are no longer the underdogs, so this will be interesting.

Trying to be objective I’d still think neutrals would pull for us. We’re fun to watch and have a great team/staff.

That worked real well for Gonzaga,

It obviously doesn't guarantee anything but it helps the cause. The only other real option is to go soccer style and base it entirely on conference play which makes the most sense in the fact that it rewards the best team over the course of a length of time but eliminates the system of truncating a season to 2-4 elimination games which will not go away in this country.

I'm not following you. The MAC is 9th and the AAC is 6th in conference RPI.

In fairness in a single year that doesn't mean much. I mean St Bonaventure plays in a lower ranked conference than us this year but on most years they are slightly ahead of us as a conference). They often get 2-3 tourney teams while we just get one. If a school like that located in the Amish country can recruit talent like they do to compete (near the bottom for 50 years) of a conference like that then surely we could do equally or better.

Akron scares me the most for the simple reason that watching them play is boring.  I have to work late wed night and if they put me to sleep, I’ll be pissed.

That’s what they do, win (nearly half the time) playing snooze fest b-ball. Even when we win we lose having to sit through that garbage but such is life.

The worst thing is if someone were to beat us I’d want a good showing from the MAC at the Dig Dance. Akron just plays to not lose, yeah sure they'll can keep it close and lose by respectful scorelines to good teams, but someone like Toledo I’d prefer representing the MAC since they might actually win a game, and could actually do so in respectable fashion.

    I'll guess.

    1) Bump in pay to a mil/yr.

    2) Practice facility is next athletic project. In the meantime they mock something up in the fieldhouse or put up a bubble.

    3) Within 2-3 years we'll be in the AAC.

I def agree with the first 2 points. The third may still be a stretch but I think a conference move will have to happen at some point. It may still be early for that and the conference in question still up in the air but that will prob have to happen.

I’m not too worried about Akron, even if we come out flat.

The only team that seems to have had our number a bit is Bowling Green. I’m weary of potentially facing them.

I'm more worried by Akron. They slow down the game as much as they can hope a few breaks go their way to pull the upset. In a one-off game that can happen. I honestly don't expect Bowling Green to even make it past Ball State. Toledo should get through that side of the bracket.
