Then maybe AD needs to go as well. ADs in mid-major conferences that have successful programs are required to have some measure of skepticism IMHO. I mean, it just happened right here only a few years ago. Is our institutional memory that short?!?

Sorry if this was covered here already, but I'll take the chance and ask this anyway: Was our AD so naive that he didn't have a disaster plan readied in case this happened???

Texas Tech. For me it’s always best to lose to the team that ultimately won it all.

I was ready to leave Santora's before the men's game was over. Many people did. The women kept chipping away at the lead. By the time the men's game was over, the ladies had turned their game into something very close. CD went down and the team kept on going. CD then went back in and gave it all she had.
This is the closest game UConn had at home to an unranked team since 2012. The fight in these ladies is unreal. I cannot wait to see what CD does in the WNBA and what this team does next.
I was in my living room with the big flatscreen on the men's game and the small kitchen TV tuned to the ladies game. At the men's game half I switched - and never switched back. The girls were magnificent in their zeal and energy and toughness. Coach Jack has built a program based on sound basketball and positivity. Can't wait for next season. Go Bulls!

Yes actually, it was about the officiating. I called the officiating embarrassing while the game was happening too. Regardless though I’m proud of this team, being ranked is something I’ve always wanted this team and town to experience, and now it finally happened. Regardless of our amazing senior class, the recruiting class is special this year and there’s always a huge improvement from a players freshman to sophomore year. Who knows how Segu and Jeenathan will improve. There will be a drop off for sure next year, but I don’t think it will be anywhere near as bad as people are expecting.
Poor officiating? You bet. But mostly poor shooting by UB against an outstanding defensive team. And our coaching was disappointing; I never thought I'd ever say that coach Oats was badly outcoached, but there's a first for everything.
I have high hopes for next year and wish that the new season would start right away!

I’m a suspicious sort: UB has to play #2 seed and CMU would play #1 seed if they won. Feels a bit anti-MAC.
Sad to see CMU lose in such a dramatic fashion. Happy to see Presley and Reina graduate.

Was that honestly an offensive foul?
(asking for a friend)
That was a textbook, training film, block. Defender was moving feet and body.

A solid hooray for Jeremy looking more like Jeremy and Jeenathan looking like he belongs.

Poor FT shooting on us. Very poor officiating on refs.

Canisius gym is pathetic. Looks like they are playing in a smallish high school with terrible lighting.
Good for Spoon, though. Classy, smart, Buffalo guy. Good luck to him and the Grifs.
I shake my head when I go to a D1 volleyball there and the ball gets caught in the ceiling rafters. Maybe Canisius can appeal to the Pegula’s for a donation to build something other than a Middle School-class gym.

It's a good game. BG arena seems to have very few students, FWIW.
Officials pretty much tilt the game toward BG with bogus technical foul call.

We had another thread about renovating AA. There was a debate about adding more seating. I'm all for that, but this (see photo) is NOT what I had in mind. Whoever is in charge had the brilliant idea to add 4 seats in the aisle that is used by hundreds of fans to get to the GA section. There was a guard posted next to the seats the entire game, where his only job was to tell folks they had to "go around". Going around meant walking onto the court in front of the court-side seats. Wow, are we THAT desperate for money?

Pretty much all that can be said about the game, the fans, the coach has been said. Let me add that this is the second game in a row where the refs were pretty much a non-factor (I suspected as much when I saw that one of the officials was Kevin Ferguson) and recall booing (and my dear wife screaming “Are you kidding me!”) only a few times. Additionally, there was another thread here about future changes to the arena. This game, with robust beer sales to a record crowd, really emphasized the gross inadequacy of the restrooms. Lol.

Women’s team nearly pulled off a “hold my beer” game one day after men won by 47. They were ahead of Ball State by 41 with 2 minutes left but couldn’t build their advantage to 48 points. Entire team played, and all scored except one. Good job, ladies.

I'd rather play that than have Hammerhead by The Offspring be played at a game vs NIU (2011 football I want to say we played it in the stands). Great band, decent song, however some awareness/discretion would be nice.
That's a good one. I wonder if DJ Milk/DJ Yes can put that on for the next game.
R&RP2 should NEVER be played.

Great wins by both men and women. Another great game by Dillard scoring and in and distributing the ball especially to Hemphill. Still going to be tough in the upcoming games when they get no scoring from their point guard and not a good game from Morrison. Central Michigan coming in next Sat will put big time pressure on Dillard so other players will have to step up big time. Hope some of the fans that showed up early will come back for the women’s game next Sat. One of the keys will be to limit Reyna Frost of Central. The coaching strategy has to change. Go Bulls!!!!
Having an outside shooter changes the visiting teams willingness to pack in their players down low to prevent easy baskets by Cierra and Morrison. This is why Courtney is so valuable when she is hitting her three's. The mystery is why Hannah Hall sometimes refuses to shoot, especially 3s since she is often in position and her mechanics are very good.

I was surprised and dismayed to hear Gary Glitter's Rock and Roll Part 2 played at a woman's game during the break. That song has been pulled from the play list of every pro, and most university, arenas for quite some time.

Assuming he meant NET? But in KenPom the 7th ranked conference has gotten *at least* (in most cases more) 2 bids every year in the last decade. Granted the MAC is currently 9th in KP.
Typo. MAC is 8th ranked. Not sure if that changes anything.
-
With this loss we’ll drop out of the Top 25. That might be a good thing, but it pisses me off because we are better than the crap show we brought in the 2nd half tonight (and it also pisses me off that teams with 5-6 losses will remain in the Top 25). As for an at large bid, MAC commish said we are 8th ranked conference - that’s not exactly a strong argument for a second team in the tournament.

Jordan going coast to coast, down 3 with 27 ticks was beyond cruel.
I walked away from tv before the finish. I couldn’t stomach watching this team sleepwalk through the second half. And I honestly don’t understand Harris getting so many minutes, so not happy with Oats right now.

Looks like it’s time to stop thinking about being ranked and getting an at large.
Gotta win the conference tournament.
It’s always been “have to win the tournament”. The immediate issue is what does Oats do with Harris?

I'm not asking for much...just a backup plan. That Alnutt didn't have one is a bit concerning. Hurley leaving and Oats leaving are "just business". But the AD's job is also "just business", and good businesses have backup plans.
