So when can they expect your contribution?

When you tell me how the money is distributed to the athletes.

Call me "old school", but I'm already donating money to the Blue and White club (and purchasing season tickets). Why should I be donating money to the players as well?

Sorry, but all NIL and the new transfer rules do is causes players to follow the money and create no "brand loyalty".

If I could "donate" money to player and in return get a guarantee they will be good and stay 4 years, I'll do that in a heartbeat.

Blueprint Sports (BPS), the industry leader in full-service name, image, and likeness (NIL) collectives, proudly announced today the launch of  Nickel City Collective, an NIL Collective supporting all University at Buffalo student-athletes.

Does this mean there are 2 layers of administration of this money?

Looks like this is a St. Bonaventure Business instructor (with a misspelling of her title on the school's official web site), a venture capitalist, a business consultant, a chemist (?), and a lawyer.

Would seem like a bunch of people that would want to take some of that donation money.

Looks like Chanteese Craig has committed to Detroit Mercy. In her photo she looks slimmed down. We never really saw much from her, but I wish her well at her new home.

You are correct. She definately put on weight prior to arriving at UB.  While she was injured, she seemed to have lost alot.

    Losing:
    Center: Chanteese Craig (per WBBBlog)

No big surprise there. Came into the season way overweight. Played some with a big leg brace on. Then I assume she was injured sitting on the end of the bench (slimmed down). She didn't look too interested in the game as well. Then, just disappeared from the bench around January.

Played in only 5 games, went 3-11 and only scored the 3 times in the Drexel game. 0-7 in the other 4 games.

She should have been better prepared for the season.

  5. Good 1st and 4th quarter but nothing in the 2nd and 3rd.

Just no energy. Not sure if it was the Ramadan fasting or what but Elhusseini seemed to not have her usual energy. Only 3 of 18 from 3 for the whole team and those three all came in the 4th quarter. UB just seemed to be passing the ball around the perimeter but couldn't get any good shots or get the ball inside. Davis couldn't make a shot (even layup) to save her life.

as someone said earlier FB points are a result of active defense. Not one of our strengths.

Steals by UB this year, 188. Opponent steals again UB 238.  Only the second time in the past 10 years we haven't had more steals than the opponent. The other time was 2016-2017.

Probably not a good statistic anywhere in the books for this team this year.

The coach was in a tough spot with this men's team.  He painted himself into a corner when he allowed both Chatman and Adams to return.  They are not his type of players and do not fit his system.  Chatman and Adams let this team down by being selfish and lacking effort especially on the defensive end.

Not sure I agree with this statement.  I'm so tired of people saying "bring in his type of players" (still).  GH3 had MANY opportunities to bring in his players through the transfer portal before the start of the season. But instead, he brought in a bunch of freshman guards.  I was under the impression that he "brought in his type of players" THIS season and look what happened.

If GH3 didn't want them, he wouldn't have played them 1872 minutes combined this season and they scored 42% of the teams total points.

GH3 needs to be more active on the transfer portal.

Did a little research on 3 pointers made as well as 3 point defense over the years. This year, UB had the fewest made 3-pointers in the 10 years I tracked. Also, the worst 3-point defense. And had only 3 players make 20 or more 3-pointers on the season.

Those 3 players are Sabol, Adams and Chatman.

    Chatman was 37-144 for 0.257.
    Adams was 34-149 for 0.228.

A lot of 3-point attempts from the "big men".

Who was expected to be our SG? Was Adams expected to be our Point Forward, Shooting Forward and a Forward? Was he expected to be the Jeenathan Williams of this team?

If the Villanova system is 3-pointers, they will need a lot more than Sabol next year.

People complained the past several years that we had so many fast break points. Sure didn’t seem like we had so many this year. This year was a lot of “in-bound the ball, go down the court, try to break the defense”. This team needs to be faster in order to get the “easy” (and more exciting) baskets.

I've been called out twice now for this comment.  A quick forum search, you will find this:

It's public. It's Brayden Jackson from Fort Erie Academy. Plenty of discussion on him in the Recruiting sub forum.

I'll post something of my own when I get some time, but for now just a couple points of clarification to your previous post:

RH3...not sure if you have Robert Griffin in the brain or?

Sabol's three point shooting was not "off" most of the season. He was hot and cold for sure, with games of 0-4 0-5 0-6 balanced by 7-10 6-8 5-8. But he shot 37.6% on the season, which is excellent for anyone let alone a lightly recruited freshman.

Boldin was a useful player and showed a lot of promise before getting shut down with an injury. He doesn't belong lumped in with McVeigh, who struggled with the speed and feel of the college game most of the year.

    MuchMany, thanks for the corrections.

Coaches abbreviation has been corrected in my original post.

Why would UB's own coaching staff say it wasn't public?

Correct on Sabol. Hot and cold. 35.7% if you don't include the last game.

  11. Wow, that was a painful season. I've been quiet on this board the past several month, so I apologize for the long post.

I'm still so confused on the coaching. This includes both recruiting and play calling.

I was concerned back in the off season with the lack of experienced players being picked up from the transfer portal. We lost 8 and only picked up one.  Bowling Green had 7 transfer in while most other MAC schools had 1-3.  UB needs to do a better job recruiting JUCO players which add experience quickly. That has been our success the past 5-7 years.

We were all told the GH3 was looking for the best players that fit into his style of play.  And then, he only gets Graham from the portal (and he had eligibility issues).  I wasn’t really impressed with Graham in his limited play. Did we leave scholarships on the table? Fulcher was also a transfer? Good driving to the basket when he did.

And then he picks up 5 Freshmen. Diovion Famakinde went AWOL before the season even started. At the start of the season GH3 didn’t appear to want to play his Freshman until he realized he didn’t have enough players. Sabol had the most minutes of the Freshman but his 3-point shooting was off most of the season (until the last game). Wilson was good on defense. Boldin and McVeigh were so so.

What happened to Kanye Jones? He went AWOL midway through the season.

This team just lacked experience.  Smith just seemed uncommitted to playing. Never really went after any lose balls. He wore his emotions on his sleave and often got into foul trouble. Fulcher had some nice drives to the basket. Williamson showed glimmers of hope with the inside game. Will they return next year or think the grass is greener elsewhere? Adams and Chatman were only talents on the team.

Now, on to coaching.  How could GH3 expect to have Adams to play point-forward the entire season as started out the season?

Rarely did I see this team do “organized plays”. The women every single possession looked at the coach to see the play. Nothing like that on this team. Always seemed like a “pickup game” plays. Similarly, I never understood UB’s side-line in-bound plays on offense. UB always seemed to move away from the in-bound player.

People complained the past several years that we had so many fast break points. Sure didn’t seem like we had so many this year. This year was a lot of “in-bound the ball, go down the court, try to break the defense”. This team needs to be faster in order to get the “easy” (and more exciting) baskets.

Sure would have liked to have seen more ball movement and better ball screen. Less turnovers as well but that probably comes with being a less experienced team.

In short, I just got the impression that this team wasn’t coached well.

  12. What happened to Chanteese Craig. Hasn't played since middle of December. Last I saw her was sitting unengaged not in uniform on the end of the bench. Now, she's not even there.

She came into the season "unathletic" but seemed to have lost a lot of weight sitting on the bench.  Did she leave the team?

  13. By far the best game I've seen the team play all year. I know it wasn't a very good Eastern Michigan team.

Finally, I see ball movement. Good quick ball movement to break the 2-3 zone and then get the ball inside. Now, I'd like to see them with more player movement and ball screens when being guarded 1-on-1.

I actually think I saw some scripted plays there today. Usually, it just looks like a bunch of players passing the ball around without a plan.

Sure would be nice if we had a reliable guard shooting 3-point shots. Sabol is either hot or cold. 4-20 from three the past 4 games. Excluding the Bowling Green game, the last 11 games he's 11-53 from 3-points.

Nice that we had an inside game. Very impressed with Williamson.

Great game by Sy. 13 rebounds, 4 steals, 4 blocks and 23 points.

Short bench worries me if they get in foul trouble. Hasn't been an issue the past couple games. They only have 11 players on the roster. Did they not fill several scholarships?

What is the status of Jones, Boldin, and Graham?

You are telling me that somebody goes to a basketball game for what happens during media timeouts and halftime?  I though people went to basketball games to see basketball.

You serious? When the team is bad, I look for ANYTHING to entertain me.

Play on the court is only 40 minutes. I'm sitting in that seat for a full 120 minutes. I don't have commercials to watch.

I've taken many people to games and a basketball game is a basketball game. What they don't see on the court during the commercials is usually what stands out to them.

The 94 Feet video segment is great to know the players more. I do like that this year Jack is interviewing the players, which is great. There was one year (possibly last year) where it was players interviewing each other. One of those segments opened with "Hi ___" "Hi ____" "What's up?" "Oh nothin' much." and I make fun of it every time I see the 94 Feet video. I was indifferent about Jenna H doing it when she was here. I thought she was a great in recapping UB games, did not think she was amazing at those interviews.

Pep band is better than it was when I was in it. Full band including drumline and they're standing and making noise the entire time. Hell yeah.

I was sitting next to Alexa Davis' mother the entire game. It was interesting to watch her on plays. She was most "active" when she wanted the guards to pass the ball to her daughter in the post. It didn't happen the entire game.

It was also interesting watching Alexa Davis' mother during the 94 feet video.  You can just see she was proud of her daughter.

I don't remember seeing the 94 feet video at all the games this year. Also, sometimes hard to hear the conversation.

I think the Pep band in the fall includes the marching band. More drums. I think they change in the spring to just the actual Pep band.
