I just grabbed a ticket (Sec 17 Row F). Who else is going? 17 is behind the UB sideline and still has plenty of seats available. PRO TIP: UMass charges for parking. Buy it in advance with your ticket and it's $10 instead of $20.
We're in Section 16 Row N. Bought parking in the South Loop

Lanceball at the end of the half?

I did not want to get shut out. Whew....

We've got another Boom

Based on this tweet, I'd say they are set for the Syracuse Bracket. However TBT just announced that they'll have a Rucker Park region. I'd love to go see them there.

Taking a step down to go to Binghamton. Forced out as part of Coach Burke's desire to not do a rebuild?

UConn and UMass, no matter how good or bad they are, are good games for us. Better than Old Dominion and Nevada (Coastal Carolina would be here too if they didn’t improve since the series was scheduled).
I get to go relatively close to home. That's a good game for me.

The worry about eliminating the transfer rule was that coaches from lower level programs that were successful could leverage their whole teams to come with them to a bigger name if they got a payday. I believe they’d call this a textbook example. Hot garbage.
Clearly UB was good enough to be in the ACC last year.... no?

Another one from her old school. Maybe we're the becoming USC Up Up Up State

Agreed, I was kina thinking Rachael may be a today or tomorrow commit. I know everyone wants their own day in the sun.
I believe she's in the portal. Perhaps evaluating options

I'd like to see some UB (and perhaps SB too) complain about that.
-
Just reading her resume... it says she was HC at Charleston before USC Upstate. Would going from CAA to Big South be a step down or just lateral? I don't know all about Womens basketball conferences.
-
Just because they're in the portal doesn't necessarily mean they're gone. Some might want to evaluate their options. I wouldn't put Fair in the category - she's either going to wind up a Syracuse or somewhere else, but I'm not so sure about someone like Loren Christie. I haven't heard about Gaba going into the portal or may be I just missed it.
As I was trying to figure out what Gaba was doing I saw this in TBN.

QuoteBurke now has a few immediate tasks at UB. She has to build relationships with current players, and re-recruit players from this year’s roster who are in the transfer portal and who have not committed to a new program. Among the attendees at Burke’s introduction Friday was UB forward Loren Christie, who entered the transfer portal last week.
Burke also told reporters that she’s been in touch with Dyaisha Fair, a junior guard who was fourth in the nation in scoring (23.4 points per game) this season, and who entered the transfer portal March 28.
Burke also has to assemble a coaching staff – her assistant at USC Upstate, Candyce Wheeler, was in attendance Friday at Alumni Arena – comb through the transfer portal to find potential players, and recruit incoming freshmen. She also has to reach out to UB’s lone commit, Lexi McNabb, a guard from Arizona who signed a National Letter of Intent in November.

I'll miss her, but I think leaving would be a good thing for Sharkey whether or not she goes with FLJ to SU. If she wants to be in the coaching biz you need to move around. I hope one day she comes back to UB as head coach after some other fabulous coach leaves us for something bigger. I really hope one day we're the bigger thing relative to more programs out there.

I find it annoying that there hasn't been a single news story speculating on who might take her place at UB. The only stories are about her going there.

Cherie Cordoba left us for a lateral role at a P5, would presumably do so again if she can win a MAC or two.
Jumping up and down for Sharkey. Sharkey has been at UB since 2010, played with or coached with Kourtney Brown, Loesing, Dillard, Fair. She could keep us winning and represents the best chance for us to retain a successful coach.
Duke could get any coach to replace K, they are staying in house. Cuse could get almost anyone to coach their women, they reached out for an alum who bleeds orange. We should to do the same.
As a lateral move Cordoba could go over to Syracuse and be "back with Jack" at the higher pay rate. Move back to UB is upward for responsibility and perhaps downard for salary... setting her up for her next jump.
As far as Sharkey.... To me she's been in the background so I don't know much about her as a coach. She was a great player (who also got screwed of MAC POTY if I recall correctly). As much of a leader there as anyone we have ever had. I'm a bit torn between the "bleed blue", and going after someone who is moving up and looking to make a mark.
The opportunity to use this Gif more often also comes into play.... -

Agreed. I think Fair is all but gone but maybe we have a chance at keeping and building around Woolley.
I have to think Wooley is gone too.

It's a very young team. It will be disappointing losing Summer and Hanna, but I'm "bullish" on the future.
-
I was wondering if that was Fair or Jack. The whole team didn’t let up

I don’t get this? How it is a job?
there are easily 500 former high school basketball players from the Buffalo area that go to auB. You would think they would care and go tot he games...
Not sure I ever even saw going to school as a "job". Looking back on it I didn't seem like a job.
