Iowa State's remake from last season to this season is remarkable. The portal changes everything. Nobody is likely to go to the portal from the team. Whitesell is beloved by his players. Who knows what is possible for next season, right?

    Nobody except…Skogman…😮

  2. Absolutely amazing Tyree leaves early and can't even latch on a practice squad anywhere. Maybe he was listening too much to Brad Riter and Scott Wilson who were talking about him being a first rounder on twitter and really inflating his ego all the time with their UB homerism. Anyone that could take a step back could see he needed another year in college, at UB or as a grad transfer.

Not sure I understand this move.  The Bulls picked their quarterback for the future last year.  All the money is good for an undrafted player I would have thought there would have been a better spot in the league to sign.

Also the experience of Drew Haddad and Naaman Roosevelt with the Bills would have led me elsewhere.  I think both were hurt by being seen as drafted and signed because they were hometown players.  Are tehy on hte tem because they should be on hte team or because you e=want to be nice to a local kid.

    Either way good luck Tyree.

Yes I’m sure Drew Haddad should have been on his mind when deciding where to sign hahaha

Naw, kids can be pretty fragile, especially when you keep yanking them around the country because Daddy wants more money. And grown ups make up these excuses to make themselves feel better about wrecking their kids lives. Like I said, hope it's all worth it, Nate.

    Haha holy salty.

I just thought it would be a Kentucky, Duke, UNC, UCLA, Indiana, etc. I would put 'Bama one step below them.

Haha..he would have to start getting into some sweet 16s before a blue blood would even think of him. He’s not anywhere near that level yet.

Those jobs, (well maybe not Indiana anymore) are a different class.

After reading this - I don't disagree with any of it.  Harsh as it may be.

Right? Same. It doesn’t mean it wasn’t an amazing season. They just aren’t good enough yet when it comes to playing with the big timers.

I was shocked it was mentioned on CBS when they revealed the potential matchup. How can you miss that tidbit?

Probably a bigger deal here than nationally. It’s been what, 4 years now. Are there even any Hurley guys left here? We all knew he was gonna move on to a bigger spot. I dunno. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal at this point. Yeah it’s neat and something to talk about but.

He has a vision, he wants to build something special here, and not just build us up to leave for a big paycheck. He’s said it in multiple interviews and has given zero reason for anyone to doubt his commitment to staying and building the “Gonzaga of the East.” Yet all these “experts” are convinced that when the “big boys” come calling he’ll leave us. It’s more than just the program that is keeping him in Buffalo as well. We all know about his wife’s health history and each year his daughters get more involved in their school district (friends, eventual boyfriends, etc.). Gonzaga, a “mid major”, pays their coach around $1.7 million per year, and I’m sure he’s gotten his fair share of offers from schools willing to pay more than that. Yet he stayed and didn’t leave to go to one of these “big boys”. This just confirms what I’ve thought about Oats and I’m tired of hearing people doubt his commitment to the vision he has for UB. Go Bulls

I think the rightful skepticism is that the cases of Archie Miller, Bobby Hurley etc are far more common than the case of Mark Few. Not that it isn’t possible, but, of course Oats is going to say the right things if he means it, or not. I don’t read as much into that in sports than you do I guess. If a 2.2 mil a year offer from a power 5 school came along, you know he’d have to really think about it, and he should.
