Decided to take a look to see how efficient it would be.

Visited the NFTA Metro website and this is what they gave for their trip planner... NFTA - Page Not Found

So I did some googling and found this which is linked from the NFTA website:  From University At Buffalo to Keybank Center (Arena Keybank) by Bus or Light Rail (moovitapp.com)

If I want to leave at 10:40 AM from the Amherst Campus, I will get to the arena at 12:10 PM at the earliest. So, a 90 minute trip, one way.

Or if going by car/bus it is a 23 minute trip.

I don't think Students will travel by transit and waste three hours of their day commuting.   There is a reason other schools have invested in running their own shuttles.  They know that you can't depend on students taking public transit.

Temple Students can take public transit from their dorms to games but the school runs shuttles for them: Temple Football Game Day Shuttles | Calendar of Events

Pitt has public transit to take students to football games.  Yet they still offer shuttle busses directly for students: Heinz Field Shuttle | Parking, Transportation & Services | University of Pittsburgh

You can not rely on public transit if you actually want to get students to the game.  That's part of the problem.  There hasn't been enough care and consideration given to making sure students get involved.  It must be as frictionless as possible.  There needs to be efforts to make sure students get there.  It isn't enough to make them aware that the event is happening.  It needs to be done in a way that gets students there even if they don't really care about the sporting event.  It needs to be a social event where they are simply moving with the crowd of other students and everything is effortless.

When I was a student in the early 2000's I had an internship downtown. I would drive from the North Campus to the South Campus and then take the subway to to the internship which was right near the baseball stadium. I want to say it was more like 45 minutes or so \each way.

  2. As someone who lives in Rochester, where we have an empty soccer specific stadium, my advice is to don't build it. Public funds were used to build the stadium in hopes that the Rhinos would end up in MLS and it was a colossal failure. Marina Auto Stadium opened with much hype but quickly fizzled out and in the long run the Rhinos should have probably stayed sharing Frontier Field with the Red Wings. The stadium reminded me of a mini UB stadium - Basically concrete and metal bleachers and not a whole lot of amenities.

If professional soccer is really a dream for Buffalo, I think New Era Field, UB Stadium or Coca-Cola Field would be more than adequite options.

  3. I dropped it in May after I reallized I wasn't watching it anymore. I'll sign up for it before the basketball season. With the Bundle Disney announced with Hulu and Disney+, I have a feeling when I re-up I'll end up keeping it.

  4. I think learning behind Allen is a perfect spot for Tyree. They're both very similiar quarterbacks and have already been training together with Jordan Palmer. I can see Tyree either beating out Derek Anderson for the third string or being on the practice squad this year. I think he has the chance to be groomed as the eventual BIlls #2 QB behind Allen.

And yes, you're better off being an undrafted free agent than a 7th round pick. Undrafted free agents can at least choose where they're going to play.

Where to start. How many years can the WGR hacks keep talking about 2 teams that never amount to anything? If making the tournament is equal to making the playoffs UB is light years ahead of the other 2 laughing stocks. Bucky and Sully actually follow basketball and UB and tell the truth much more than the cheerleaders down the dial. B/S have had numerous players on this year.  If the Bills or Sabres ever do anything itll put UB on the back burner again but I'm confident both teams will continue spinning their wheels for years to come.

Rochester area sports talk is very much the same. Basically Bills or general NFL 24x7. Even the Sabres tend to be on the backburner. All of a sudden the hosts talk a ton about Syracuse this time of year and then forgotten the rest of the year.

I was at Dick’s yesterday and there were racks and racks of Sabres,Yankees and some Bills stuff along with Syracuse???? I found a rack of UB stuff in the middle of all the other racks. Dick’s very slow to jump on the bandwagon. Again money and influence talks with the pro scene. Our family have stopped buying over priced pro apparel long ago. Support our local UB teams that are winning and giving us exciting times. Go Bulls!!!!

I'm pretty sure Dick's gets stocked at a regional level they only carry 1 team for each sport. It's frustrating being a Mets fan too when they only have Yankees stuff.
