True, by the time Ohio plays BG we will know exactly what we need to happen to get to Detroit if it's still possible. Ohio losing to BG just makes a three way tie UB-OU-BG go to the second tiebreaker rather than OU going 2-0 vs BG and UB.

Yea…..I’m looking at it this way.  As long as we get to the point where Ohio has more losses than UB.  It really doesn’t matter what Bowling Green does as long as UB stays even with them.  Bowling Green is third wheel at this point.  Right now all three are even making the turn on to the front stretch and racing for the line..

of course, UB needs to handle their own business first against two weaker teams in CMU and Akron.

And then see where things stand going into Kent.  We’ll know exactly since that’s the very last and MAC game of the regular season.  All the other games that week are midweek MACtion games.

Conference. We need Ohio to lose at least one game, preferably to BG.

I don’t think it really matters where Ohio drops the game at though.  As long as Ohio has one more loss than UB, they can finish tied or better with BG and still go to the Championship because of the head to head win

  3. I swear there's just something about that place....they looked like Zombies....no spark or energy

The receivers were going through the motions.  Big Mike went down on first contact how many times.  Cole was seeing ghosts.  DB's looked like they never played before.  The lines were seconds behind in reaction time.  Offensive playbook that got them to 5-0 was forgotten.  Defense had no second half adjustments (which theyve actually been pretty good at this year).  Even MO didnt have his usual spark on the sideline.

I dont know if anybody else noticed, but 3-4 times a UB player with the ball would have a choice between open field one way and a Ohio player the other, and they'd go right to the Ohio player (like right at them) and get tackled.  Big Mike did it once, Cole a couple of times, and a receiver.  Thats just uncanny.

I thought the easier travel might help, but at this point maybe bringing bottled water and packing your own sandwiches might be on the table for next time.  Or make crucifixes and garlic necklaces part of the uniform.

But we still have BGSU on our tail. And we are behind Ohio now. We have to win out and hope Ohio and BG drop one more.

It was an awful game. Snyder looked very hesitant, like he didn't trust or understand what he was seeing. He made some dreadful throws. And that "awful" Ohio defense looked pretty good against the Bulls. We couldn't get anything going.

I do take my hat off to Bobcat fans for showing up for the game. It was a great turnout for a midweek MACtion game. If it were at UB there night be a dozen people watching. You might as well play those games in the field house.

But UB has the Tiebreaker on Bowling Green.  Plus Ohio & BGSU finish the season @Ohio, so one of them will lose.  Any shot at Detroit at this point is to 1-0 each week, then hope Ohio loses one somewhere.  UB cant drop another one until Ohio slips up.  It amounts to striving for 3-0 to finish and hope.

UB has @CMU, then Home against Akron & Kent

Ohio has @Miami (rivalry game), @ Ball State (both Tuesday MACtion games), then the last home game against BGSU  (although its is another Tuesday MACtion game, unfortunately, and UB has to hope Bowling Green stays in the race for it to matter for them, Home WMU & Kent then @Toledo & @Ohio)

  5. I just can’t wrap my head around what the issue is with teams going into Athens.  And it’s not just UB.  All MAC teams.

is it built on a burial ground? Is it the water? What is the issue?  It’s not like Ohio has world beater teams ever.  They’ve always been the model of consistency with mediocre 6-6, 7-5, 8-4 teams.  Good enough, but not quite great.

At home, they’re world beaters, away they’re exposed

And what was with the animosity from the Ohio players?

Snyder is holding this team back, without a doubt

Who would you prefer to put in there??

Myers hasn’t been the same since his injury.

the other QBs evidently haven’t beaten out Cole

and for cripes sake, it was pretty evident in the spring game who was the best QB on the roster.

Id prefer to have Vantresse still, but since free agency is now allowed in College, he’s not an option

    So who??

Last week it was 27-10 a lot later in the game than this. Not predictin, just sayin….

That said, Ohio does seem to have some sort of curse on us in their house. Maybe we’ll turn the tables in the 2nd half, maybe we won’t. Either way, just remember how hopeless it felt at 0-3 and how much hope we’ve been given over the past 5 games. Go Bulls!

    Just…..NO

  8. It’s not over with…..but

guys need to make catches when the ball is right in their hands.  And they can still have the opportunity to run the ball.  It’s only 2 scores.

on Defense….big thing is the d-ends are starting to get loosie goosie on their rush.  Constantly taking the outside route.  Guys….they’ll let you do that all day and it’s leaving running lanes for Rourke,if he chooses to take it.  They need to stay inside and take away passing lanes at the same time

I feel like they’re  Giving up too much cushion on the receivers.

somebody needs to be in that little pipsquak Ohio state dick heads pocket.  And if you have a clean shot on him, take it.

That should help. I really want this win tonight. I hope they can make the transition to an evening game. I think our offense can thrive in this game, we need to D to limit Rourke picking up those cheap 3rd Downs with his legs. Hopefully we have seen enough scrambling QBs this year that we are used to it. Go Bulls!!🤘

Contain, Contain, Contain.......dont get trapped on the pass rush going for the big sack....chances are when they finally get there....Rourke wont be.

And... the locker room material has been forwarded.

So do we know the the travel plans yet for the team??

Last time, I believe they ended up flying to Columbus, staying there, then boarding a bus for the 1 1/2 - 2 hour drive before game time, got off the bus, sleep walked through the game, and got their asses handed to them 52-17....

UB hasnt won in Athens since 2008.  Many teams dont win in Athens for these Mid week MACtion games.  I havent really kept up with how things have played out for Ohio since that last game in 2018 as far as their winning percentage at Home in the Midweek games, but when I did look into it following that 2018 game, they do have an advantage (almost unfair) to forcing the away teams into crazy, un normal, travel just to get to the game, and it usually goes just as bad for other MAC teams as it did for UB in 2018.

This is one of those, at least for me, show-me games for the coaches more than the players.  Yes, the Toledo win was nice, but this game means alot more.  There is alot on the line.  Its one thing to have to worry about the Xs & Os on the field, add on top of that getting these guys motivated, aware of the situation, and keeping them hungry, focused, and ready as they walk off that bus from where ever they had to bus in from.

Is UB's roster worse than Ohio's?  No

Maybe the coaches can read quotes from BobcatAttack as the bus meanders along.....I mean what else is there to do for 2 hours....

Well, they aren't wrong in that Athens is a rough place for UB to have to win.

But correct me if I'm wrong, even if the Bulls lose there are still 3 more MAC games.  UB could run the table and OU could lose to Miami, Ball State or BG.  I just don't think it's a forgone conclusion that this one game decides the East.

Is it a forgone conclusion....no.  Does it give UB at least a 2 game advantage (with tiebreakers) with the three teams in striking distance of the top spot...YES

Best to handle their own business when its in front of them instead of relying on other teams to do it for them....

    Follow up on this.

    1. Won the turnover battle

    2. 4 for 35

    3. 4 touchdowns, 2 field goals

    4. We gave up some big punt returns and had punts of 12 yards and 16 yards so I guess we checked this box even if not in our favor.

Im kind of curious where our Toledo Friend went.......

  13. Thinking about this game, UB, players-wise, should just be better......

With that said.....I think the onus is primarily on the coaches this week to get these guys ready to go, motivated from the start, and handle their business as they should be able to do.  No sleepwalking....

Should it read "3-0 going into Toledo"?

Yea, possibly.  I guess it would depend on how you read it.

I meant 2-0 just for the BGSU & UMASS games, but I see how 3-0 would work to solely as the division record.

  15. Its early yet....I know.....but starting to look at MAC East aspirations....this game against BGSU isnt one than they can just let slip away  (Nor the UMASS game as far as overall record goes for Bowl Games) but for at least the division, the schedule after these two games dont do UB any favors.  Home against Toledo....then @Ohio (who get an extra (almost unfair) benefit win% wise from Mid Week MACtion Home Games because of where Athens, OH is) ..... then followed by another road trip @Central Michigan.  Thats a tough stretch to get through unscathed division standings wise.  2-0 (3-0 division record) going into Toledo would be ideal.

The Buffalo Bills are fantastic.  The fan base appears to be  equally fantastic.  Can we somehow get the energy and smarts of the Bills absorbed by our Bulls?  Buffalo is a large community and supportive of good football.  With so many UB grads in the metro area,  we should be able  to generate more support.  I cannot buy the excuse of limited $$.  We can attribute some underperforming teams, unexciting MAC teams and less than state of the art stadium. That all said, we have had some good teams and players in the recent past.

More than opening the open ended discussion of why do not generate more community support, please have the Bills adopt our  Bulls Let's make an even greater football town

I grew up a NY Giant fan.  I try to be a Chicago Bear  fan.  I have added the Bills as one of my favorite teams.

    Go Bulls and Bills

9/29/2018……….look it up…….that was the last, best opportunity to gain some local support

Usually the first game or two of the year, the student turnout is pretty good to the point where students are put in the 300's. I doubt this is because somebody is counting people but more of an eye test of what the section can fit.

I've been to a couple stadiums where every seat is a seatback and the student sections seem to be much less tight, as you don't want to be the guy that is getting into your neighbor's pre-defined space, but also at the same time if the student section is standing nobody really needs all that space.

So yes, it's mostly about getting as much people in as possible.

On the chairbacks, the only ones at UB stadium that are good are the ones that are way out of my price range so I'd love if the seats that are bolted into the benches get removed. I have mostly praise for DW but this was one of his braniac ideas that sucked.

I don't have the numbers, and I doubt there are many that are publicly available at the UB Stadium scale, but I imagine benches are multiples cheaper than chairbacks. I'd rather that money go towards a better videoboard and better sight lines (no track).

I always wondered if these seats would have been more comfortable......

Seeing that a certain someone, "mis-informed" us.........way back when.
