    This didn’t age well 😬

Guess Jim gets the last laugh tonight

Funny thing with Jim, he doesn't emote much watching these games. I've seen him in person at 3 of these TBT games, and he just doesn't react much.

This was a tough game to watch. Ice cold after 1. Almost wonder if the first quarter was a fluke because Wilson missed a few minutes after getting hit in the eye early on.

BA used their size effectively, but also our shooters couldn't shoot. There were some signs of life in the waning moments, when they absolutely needed to shut BA out the rest of the way.

Oh well. I hope they're not discouraged from coming back for year 4. I hope we find a way to host it in Buffalo.

  2. Going full Homer again this year, at least for the opening rounds. It's a nice replacement for UB being unable to make a run in Cleveland the last 4 seasons.

I bought tix to the first two days in Cuse when it was confirmed we'd be there. I just booked a hotel for the week with points and bought a ticket for Friday night as a gamble. Surprisingly, the seat availability for Friday resembled what I saw when tickets went on sale in early May.

Anyone know when the schedule will be available and the location?

They're going to be in Syracuse, at the OnCenter, allegedly. Tickets went on sale last weekend. I bought tix to the first 3 sessions. Weirdly, the opening round is being played on Monday, round 2 on Wednesday, and round 3 on Friday.

The only game time that had been announced was that Cuse had the prime time slot Monday. I presume they wouldn't put BCU in that match up; instead, they'll likely be in session 1 Monday for the possibility of a Cuse-Buffalo regional final.

The problem to me is UB Bulls fired there coach at the worst time when college athletics is going through a culture shift like all the movements this country has gone through. But unfortunately UB Bulls refuse to recognize the worth of the individual person because it goes against the state’s collective one for all commune good policy. Basically hippy dippy 1960’s political philosophy and they are in the position of power in New York State and definitely at UB. The same people that lead to canceled UB Bulls football because of there counter culture protests movements of the 1960’s are in elite power positions. Think about it there is a much deeper dark place UB and New York State is in ruling class positions today who were hippy dippy counter culture wanting total control and power not looking at the worth of the individual it will not be New York State and UB downfall just left behind everyone else that adjust to this shift in college athletics and business today. BSF are you basically saying we are a backward state and school? Yes no more callers we have a winner. My generation has nothing to do with this we aren’t in power yet so it’s not on my generation yet we are going to have to clean this mess up unfortunately if there still is a Division I athletics to clean up because the fools in charge are running it into the ground again. And it’s sad because you ask what is the point? We fire Jim Whitesell spend $500,000 for this absurd mess it didn’t have to be like this we could have paid Bobby Hurley, we could have paid Nate Oats, we could have Lance Leipold. I hope you all are enjoying the political power total control nonsense because you all are embarrassing not just UB but Buffalo.

I take no responsibility whatsoever for this political stuff from the elites from UB and New York State there both a big joke. Wake up Bobby Hurley, Nate Oates and Lance Leipold have value and these fools that run New York State are UB don’t get it. I have three other basketball teams locally I can watch until UB stops playing politics and gets there act together it’s embarrassing the individual has worth in this country wake up we are in a capitalistic country the individual is going where the money is that is why I have said UB will be left behind with no NIL and $1 million dollars plus head coaching salary. Maurice Linquist is gone he sees this who mess who knows what he is thinking? Most likely I got win big to get away from this crazy state and school policies to make my individual worth in my opinion. UB Horns Up! Go Bulls! Let’s Go Buffalo

Curious why Davonta Jordan only played in 2 games for a total of 12 minutes.

Also surprise the prize money wasn't divided evenly among all the players.

At the first game in Syracuse, he stopped to speak to a man who was sitting near me. When he left, I asked if he had mentioned why he wasn't playing. I was told that he had a calf injury.

  6. Settling in to watch BCU play for the eighth time in a couple hours.

Regarding Alumni Arena and AC, I believe they have brought in AC in the past for big events. Not sure the tournament will get the attention you think it will - unless Boeheim is in our region next year. Those games were far and away the most well attended last weekend in Syracuse. It will still be a good time, but the draw may not be enough to bring in AC for it.

I was talking to some Dayton alums last night, while waiting for CJ to hit the final shot (there was quite a gap between the first 8 points during the Elam ending and the final bucket) and they mentioned that AC was only recently added to the arena here in Dayton. This place blows Alumni away, though.  It's a true basketball arena.

I did....I said as much a little later in the post.  I'll keep an eye out, maybe they'll have some more offers.

Are you still looking for tickets? I have a pair that I bought during the flash sale, but I also have a ticket to a fundraiser/benefit that afternoon.

  8. Just got back to Buffalo from Dayton a few minutes ago.

They'll be back next year, better prepared. Hopefully everyone is healthy, and in good condition. I look forward to Williams and Segu joining them in a couple years, but I'm not really in a hurry to get rid of CJ's buddies. Dennis was great in a couple of the games - not sure why he didn't see much playing time today.

CJ missed a 3 late in the game, and when he got back on Defense, he happened to look over at me. You could sense how disappointed he was with the way the game was ending. That was a bit gut-wrenching.
