I propose this:  Saturday Dec 15, home game vs Southern Illinois at 2 pm.  The alumni take matters into their own hands.  Wear your old Mighty Maniacs shirt (or whatever you have from your student days), anyone willing to get the job done in the students' absence meet before the game in the True Blue end zone.  We make noise up in 113 but I gave up being too rowdy a long time ago (plus the other team can't hear me from row O) - I'm willing to come out of retirement for this.

We're not doing this to stand down there trying to look cool or play with our phones.  We make noise every time the Bulls are on defense and for opposition foul shots.  Get the basic 'BU-FF-AL-O-GO", "Let's go UB" chants going.  "BYAH" for blocks.

    Someone fly in Jeseph, lol

The night before Thanksgiving would be a tough night for local students to go to a game.  It has become a huge night for college students to go out with all of their friends as the come home for the holiday weekend.  All the locals who went away are home for the first time and they all go out.

This happens way late. We are talking 11pm+. I remember going with friends and then starting the party after the game.

The point is, groups of people are together NEAR UB. Lots of people travel back to Buffalo too from their schools. It seems like those people care more than the students who go for free. Pathetic showing so far even for the SF - PA game. With students, that game would have been full.

  3. I will admit I was disappointed.

For having a top 25 team, the public came out.

I NEVER missed games near the holidays. And that was during our average to below average Reggie years.

The students can go for free, I know they all went out that night.

The student fans/True Blue needs to be better.

  4. The team needs to shoot better than 39%. They haven't hit a shot outside of CJ.

I want an offensive explosion. Dartmouth has stats completed skewed by 2 non-D1 teams.

They beat Loyola MD who then went to get crushed by to Detriot Mercy. They did lose to Davidson on the road, who was on the verged of being ranked before their loss at Purdue. Dartmouth only lost by 3.

Could be a scary game, wish we scheduled a bit more of cupcake game, this one is at LEAST in the mold of SF (PA).

Marist on Friday should be a true tune-up.

  5. If Miami Wins at home against Ball State, then they officially knock Ohio out, making the Akron game useless.

If UB wins they are in.
If UB loses and Miami/Ohio win, Miami is in
If UB loses and Miami wins and Ohio loses, UB Is in
If UB loses and Miami loses, Ohio is in with a win

Root for Miami against Ball State because it knocks out Ohio. Ohio loses the three-way tiebreaker. What’s funny is that Miami then needs to root for Ohio to win (who’d be playing for nothing if they win tomorrow).

  6. Yeah, it's a strange one. Instead of three games like most, they are doing a 2 campus plus 2 games there

I think the reason for two champions is to eliminate the third game.

I'd probably rather get Dartmouth and Marist at home and play UW-M/San Francisco there.

The championship of UB/SF are the only "top 100" teams attending.

Bertram hasn’t shown any of the offensive capability that Stainbrook showed. After he transferred to Xavier he was one of their solid contributors. Even at W Michigan his sophomore year he was good for about 10 points per game - although he missed those foul shots in his last trip to Alumni Arena.

Meant this more in the guise of him wanting to leave because of the pace of play. We play to different for his skillset. He needs to be in a set-up half court offense. UB is literally the polar opposite and I think they will limit centers from ever coming here. Jeenathan Williams and similar is the style of player we will be recruiting now.

Having great student attendance is one of the most appealing aspects of attending a college basketball game or watching one on television. The problem at UB is that the students are away for a 1/3 of the home schedule. We’ll see how student attendance is during break. Typically it is very sparse.

They don't really represent that well when they are here though. That's a big issue. I would have loved to have the success a lot of the students get now.

If it's not a big game, its bad over there. The public impressed me against SF PA, it was the student side that was empty.
