Time to start a 72 game streak.

Well a modest 6 game streak is in the books.  Texas Tech will be tough this weekend in Lubbock....but as the great Buddy Holly said/sang...."that'll be the day"....a wonderful museum/spot to visit if you are ever in W Texas.  There is a tree there planted by (?) Sir Paul McCartney..........

UB alums saying no aren’t seeing the realities of New York State and there core values they want for all SUNY schools. The MAC matches Western New York culturally to a degree but not New York State at all and it will always be an issue. Western New York is a blend of Western New York, New York State, Canadian and Midwestern values culturally blended together that is why there will always be a divide between New York State downstate and Western New York. Downstate has some kind of mental block because they can’t see why doesn’t Western New York want to be like us like the rest of Upstate. I am saying because Buffalo has too much historical Canadian and Blue Collar/Midwestern culture to ever change. Your not changing that. I get it New York State tries and tries but it’s not happening because the Canadian and Blue Collar culture is too ingrained in Western New York.

I apologize.  I had not taken the time to read your comments prior to today.  Then, I saw Brooklyn's comment about "Golden" and it caught my eye.  Like a good buddy of mine, beer has a way of doing that!

In any event, I am honored/honoured that you think Canada has had a major influence on western New York.  Most southern Ontarians/Canadians would say the opposite.  I had family skirmish with Americans in the area in the War of 1812...but I'm still a UB fan.

I think the answer is pretty straight forward...."follow the money".  It usually leads to a sensible/not-logical conclusion.

UCONN is a road game. We are playing UMASS at home. That may bring a crowd assuming we can take care of business against Lafayette and play Missouri at a similar level to how we played Wisconsin.

...or how we played Georgia, in Athens for the first qrt/half; without K Mack (suspended by team for punching out Fred Lee).  Eventually Todd Gurley and crew took over.  UB has played well on the road for their "roadkill" games.  Remember leading PSU in State College?

Just like the final two International Bowls.  Back to back Bulls v. Huskies.

UB vs UConn and USF vs NIU.....let us not forget WMU vs Cincinnati, nor Ball St vs Rutgers.  Sadly only four games played.  Dar and I were at all four.  I wish they still played it.

Based on the announcement of the scheduling for the next three seasons (before they have to go back to the drawing board with the addition of UMass) the schedule should be release any day.

Travel Tip for Out of Towners:  If you are going back to Buffalo for a game or games, book your hotels rooms before the Bills schedule comes out.  Once that schedule comes out Saturday night rates will go through the roof.

Any updated scoop?  Not sure why the MAC would be the last conference to announce their scheduling.  Heck, even most of the FCS is announced.

  6. All good things must end....sadly.  If I'm going to rag on about how good OU WSB is, I need to be quick to pay respect to University of Louisiana and their starter, Chloe Riasetto for her complete game, extra inning win over Oklahoma.  The streak is over....71 games.  Fun ride.

OU will likely drop one or two spots in the stndings even at 18-1, and three time defending champ.  Look for a #3 ranking this week.

Great game.  Came back and tied in in the bottom of the 7th; but lost to the better team today. Boomer.

The other Love Field is in Dallas.

My bad....my time in business school was so long ago, I'm just pleased that I could remember that there was a Love Field in the Southwest business case.

  8. OU opens it's new Softball Facility today.  Miami (OH) will be the first team to play there when they face OU in the Oklahoma Invitational today at 3:00EST on ESPN+.  Love's Field will be the largest on campus softball facility in the NCAA, seating 4200 and expandable.

Oklahoma will enter the game 14-0 for the year, on a 67 game winning streak.

BeatWestern says you guys pulled hard for us.

The pleasantries aside, hope we kick your a$$ on Sept 14.

Glad you're still on the  UB bandwagon... :-)  Tequila up!

  10. They will never touch the UConn WBB streak of 111....but it sure is fun watching them go about business.  They're off to California this weekend for the Mary Nutter Classic.  A weaker field this year since UCLA decided it was no fun losing to OU....but it's still 5 more games in three days (and a two time zone change).

  11. ...that after UB, I am an Oklahoma "homer".....but OU Softball (three time defending National Champs) just won their 60th consecutive game.  Say what you will, but that is pretty freaking amazing.

  12. So what's the scoop?  Any word or updates?  For some strange reason, UB and the MAC do not get a great deal of coverage here in Florida?  On the plus side, I can talk NCAA football with almost everyone; allbeit they are likely Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa or Penn State fans.  It's a burden handling all this B1G chitchat.
