Nice reality check. I’m hoping the AP poll has a similar reaction as those other metrics but it’s also dependent on tonight’s game. A win or loss will greatly change the consensus on this team

I just want to make sure you know this is a validation of my score, not a dig at your prediction
Trust me no offense taken haha I love the response
looks like we are 8 point favorites on the road against a good Kent team...scary. They’re going to be good and winning in Kent seems near impossible at times. I’m afraid for the officiating tbh. BG did blow them out of the water in Kent earlier though and then they got smashed but EMU away. I guess they’re beatable but you know they’re out for our blood

Good win for the women. They seem to be on a good roll right now

If the Bulls drop out of the rankings, they have essentially zero chance to get back in. There are no ranked teams left on their schedule. This highlights another advantage of being in a P5. A team can muddle in the lower middle of the standings, but could see one or more ranked teams leading into March. Have one freaky good game and beat a ranked team and you’re immediately in the conversation for an at-large and possibly even a Top-25 ranking.
I don’t know if I agree with that. If we drop out I’m assuming we’ll at least be getting votes. So many top 25 teams are getting beat up. I think if we kept consistently winning we could work our way back up but we’ll see. We need to take it to KSU and hope a 2 point road loss at the buzzer to a Q2 team doesn’t drop us more than 11 spots
-
With only 2 losses so far we still have to be considered an at large but we’re on a super short leash.
Would love to have MAC as a two bid league this year but I’d prefer we just won the tourney. If we do I just don’t think anyone else has the resume to get an at large. If we don’t, we pray

It will be awesome if the voters see this just like every other top 25 team, a bad loss, that is a statistical outlier. Odds are against us, but it would be very nice to see us keep solid.
Hopefully this is a serious wake up call. STOP. TURNING. THE. BALL. OVER! For a team that has been awesome at keeping the ball, we have been real sloppy lately, getting that mojo that kills a mid major. I hope Nate is imprinting it into their heads that just because we are ranked doesn't change the fact that in conference play, anyone can lose to anyone. We know each other, so anyone is easier to beat.
Let's have a statement bounce back game. If we can win this impressively, I think the voters will just see the last game as an outlier.
101-66 Buffalo
LET'S DO THIS!! GO BULLS!
That’s a bold prediction haha but I’m not opposed to it. I just think it’ll be closer. I say we win by 8

Refs were terrible both ways. Looked like we got a TO on that five second call but just because it doesn’t happen often doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be called. The refs aren’t the reason we shot terribly from the field and the charity stripe
-
Kent will be a huge factor on whether or not we are ranked next week. We win and I say we are around 20. We lose and forget it. I mean we dropped a whopping 6 spots for losing to a ranked Marquette team..
-
Agree with pretty much everyone here. Here’s to hoping it lights that fire again. We don’t have much time to turn things around.
I couldn’t really post last night. To see them march right down the court with little to no resistance (like they had done many times already) after cj ties it up was so heartbreaking yet you could feel it coming all night.
-
Well we escaped another week without a loss. These last 2 games kinda felt...iffy. A tight one against a not so great (albeit better than their record shows) wmu and again just didn’t feel like we were just not playing well. Hope we aren’t losing it especially with arguably the most difficult week in our conference schedule coming up next week RIGHT before students return...In any case we can enjoy Saturday and root for some good upsets and see if we can inch our way up anymore. Lots of good stuff
Two major games:
WVU at home vs #7 Kansas
#14 Auburn at home vs #12 Kentucky

It seems that everyone’s strategy against us in the MAC is to extend their own offensive possessions as long as humanly possible. Everyone wants to slow our pace down and not let us get into a groove. Just gotta stay disciplined on D and we come out with a W

Super frustrating to watch. The refs are terrible both ways. Our ft shooting won us the game. I guess that’s one way to win when the refs call a foul for breathing on someone
glad we escaped but we gotta clean things up. We are gunna get these spirited efforts to beat a ranked team everywhere we go and next week especially is going to be brutal

ODU just beat W Kentucky at home. CUSA is a one bid. Hope it’s ODU or N Texas. Anyone but W Kentucky.
Why don’t you like the Hilltoppers?

Yea two notable absences for duke for most of the game but hey I’ll take it.
Sounds like good news for perk but I’d still err on the side of caution and limit his minutes tonight. If McRae and Bertram can hold down the fort let perk rest up as much as possible. If we need him, that’s fine as long as he’s truly ok to play but still
-
Thanks cuse!! Lots of action still this week that can help us out but nothing matters unless we take care of our own business!! WMU might not have a great record but any MAC road game is tough to win. Lets go bulls

Ed I would put UNC at 15 right now. They definitely have great talent as they have good wins vs Gonzaga and nc state but are inconsistent (losses to Louisville and Texas). If it was me I’d have UNC around 15, Gonzaga around 8-9 and Nevada 13-14. Then have Marquette 16 and us 17. I know I’m not accounting for how everyone else in that mix would fit in between 1-14 but this is my (extremely unqualified) opinion haha.
I do however agree with your idea of a whole team aspect and not just a move up or down due to losses or lack there of. In reality I don’t think we are better than 15th in the nation although you know I’m going to be rooting for us to slowly climb the ladder. Once the tourney starts all hell breaks loose anyway and rankings don’t matter in terms of anybody can and will win. Going with the idea that you shouldn’t move down just because of a loss though makes it more confusing that we moved down so far after losing at a ranked Marquette in which I don’t think any team I the nation could’ve beat them that night.
-
I agree it would be near impossible for us to get top 10 although we’ll see what happens. The rest I don’t mind just UNC.. let’s just keep winning. Would really love to be top 15. Just need someone 15-10 range to lose
-
The fact that UNC dropped one spot after losing at home to an unranked Louisville by 20 points is ridiculous. Also Louisville should be ranked (though they’re not far off)
-
Sounds good to me!!
-
So...what are you all predicting for tomorrow? I say 16
-
I found 8971. That’s a lot lol but we’ll see what happens when students return
-
Idk I could see Marquette jumping us and I’d be ok with that. Still it’s going to be great. If only Kentucky would’ve lost...lol
I agree ole miss should be ranked and maybe k-state but I don’t think they could jump us
Let’s go SF tonight!!!

Like RMA said any win at Kent is a good win. There’s just no way this one wasn’t going to come down to the wire and we went on a run at the right time.
I agree that our defense has not been as good as we’ve seen it but it’s def accentuated when the other team start making stupid deep 3s at the end of the shot clock. Def a mix of both. I agree we need to figure out how we were playing early in the year though as March approaches.
Not worried about Harris, he’ll get his mojo back. Perk had some major 3s and also seemed like they couldn’t match his size inside.
It was a typical game at Kent where you can get shanked inside the paint by 3 players with no foul. I swear it happens every time. Glad we were able to grit it out when it counted.
Def an improvement from the previous games but we still have to get better. Luckily we have a ton of conference play left. I’d be happy if this was a 1 point win. Should keep us ranked. Thank god we get to go home before @BG
