  1. NIU also got in.  And they weren’t undefeated.

Ugh, I’m assuming your a fan of the sport and the school and the conference.  And a conference mates best season is already forgotten.  It’s been what?  5 years?  Makes you wonder why we even bother in this sport.  We should of went all in on wrestling...

  2. Play calling was atrocious. Guess which team had more YPC until mid 2nd half? UB.  Going against a team that wants to hold the ball and has a defense that used to playing <20 minutes a game, oh and weighs about 50lbs less then you on the line.  And your top WR is out, and you keep throwing the ball?  Like Lance, but don’t know what he was thinking.

The MAC-West is the 14th best division in college football according to Sagarin ratings.  The P5 conferences claim the top-9 spots.  The MAC-East is lower ranked, coming in between the CUSA divisions.

The reality is that the Bulls are playing for a MAC championship in Detroit.  There isn't much concern about what happens outside of the conference games.  It was a great OOC that will help with recruiting but that won't change what bowls the MAC gets into.  The MAC isn't getting into a NY6.

Playing for a trip to the Camellia Bowl, Bahamas Bowl, Potato Bowl, or the Dollar General Bowl.

It wasn't the strength of CUSA that made TCU make great leaps forward.   It wasn't the strength of the WAC that propelled Boise State forward.

Just keep putting in the work and doing things the right way.  Be a Boise State or a Gonzaga for your conference.  The MAC is good enough to build a program in the conference.

The MAC this year is not getting into a NY6 game, they already have twice.

Yes the MAC is going to be fine.  The MAC is always fine.  So even by Saragrin ratings we suck more than usual, it’s fine.  Every year we are playing towards a conference championship and a bowl game, just like every other team in every other conference, so you made a great point there.  If only we scheduled up more often, play games against teams in the FCS Missouri Valley... we will be fine.  Oh, and they play better basketball in the MVC too, ain’t that a kick in the balls...

  4. Still think the MAC is up?  Don’t think the conference managed a single OOC win over a winning team.  Leagues best win may be over Nevada.  That is down even by MAC standards.  Bowl season may be ugly again this year.

Juniors draftees rarely achieve success in the NFL. It would behoove TJ3 to play his senior year. He could be a #1 overall pick in 2020.

This is a violent game at every level.  And the average professional career is a handful of years.  Success is a paycheck.  So by my definition of success every early draftee is a huge success.

Losing doesn't normally get you votes under any circumstances.   To me the bigger question is, why is North Texas getting more love than UB?  Yes, they beat a bad Arkansas team...and UB beat a bad Rutgers team...the MAC needs more respect; and it will come with more UB wins!

I don’t think it is a matter of more respect for the Sun Belt over the MAC.  The best I can explain it is, a.) N. Texas is a more established FBS program, they did rejoin FBS 3 years before UB, b.) they are in Texas and c.) they also routed Incarnate Word, which uses IW for their abbreviated name, and also have a logo almost identical to the university of Iowa, so despite the color being wrong, and the abbreviation, the lazy voters see a big win over a BIG. At least that is how I can explain it.

    Buffaloes 42 - Rutgers 13

im trying to think back and I think this is our first win against Big Ten. It might also be the first against P5 since it was organized.

I believe your right. Last win vs Rutgers was during their BE tenure, so not P5.  Sadly, this didn’t feel like a big win, Rutgers wouldn’t finish in the top half of the MAC East better yet compete for the conference.  Even their fan base was predicting a blowout. I know scheduling takes place years in advance but it would of been nice to see this year’s squad against a legit P5 or a top AAC team this year.  Timing is a bitch.  Army should be a good game.

  8. Scheduling goal should be one P5 at home every 2-3 years or so, 2 P5 games a year total. One FCS home game every year, and then one G5 every year, typically on 1 and 1 contracts.  Obviously with a focus on NY, NJ and Midwest opponents.  Only way into that access bowl game (the super bowl for any G5 team) on New Years Day is a tough schedule.  Just scheduling for bowl eligibility is a fools errand.

This is an absolute joke.  Croed Funding for a jugs machine.  Embarassment to the program

Took the words right out of my mouth.  Most likely a way to fish for new boosters than about a piece of equipment my neighbor owns and leaves out in the rain.

By no marquee wins I assume the wins over Purdue and Northwestern do not count.  Any time a MAC school beats a Big 10 other Power 5 school it is a marquee win.

Maybe I have a higher bar for MAC football, but I do not consider beating low end P5 schools marquee wins, with the exception of maybe the SEC. Especially when they are the historically bad ones. Don’t think most of the country and those who vote in polls do either. Plus the MAC generally gets a handful a year anyway. 2 thru 3 weeks isn’t great.

Not saying the MAC is down, but I would say QB play seems to be more questionable around the conference than usual.

  11. That’s pretty glass half full...

CMU and WMU seem to be way down, NIU tho with a tough schedule doesn’t look like they have any offense.  Ohio hasn’t looked very good and Miami who was supposed to be in the upper half of the East looks awful.  Jury still out on Ball St, and BG.  I think Toledo is still the team to beat.

League is below .500 with really no marquee wins.

Even if Akron or UB manage to stay perfect, hard to see an access bowl slot over a one loss American team.

Admin I think that flag was a roughing the passer but I don't remember seeing them replay it. Was a lucky one for sure.

I actually agree with going for 2 on the second TD with a suspect kicker. Not taking the FG later in the game was rough though

It was a roughing the passer. A friend at the game said they hit Tyree low, for whatever that is worth. Was strange that such a huge call in the game and no replay on ESPN3. Gotta figure they had at least one camera on the QB.
