The refs are horrible, still need to hit our FTs though, if we lose that is the reason.
-
Tried to give that one away but I am happy they are starting conference play with a W.
-
We always seem to play WVU pretty tough, hopefully this group continues that.

Not sure if I missed this somewhere else, but looks like they are finally getting a proper fitness center for the athletes. https://buffalonews.com/sports/college/ub-announces-plans-for-7-5-million-sports-performance-center-project/article_de1e1686-70cf-11ed-8280-8baddc957708.html

I would be shocked if he gets the job, he hasn’t really proven much yet.

Just tuning in, how is the crowd?

Hardnett having a career game and then gets a stupid tech

Well this game looks over already not 4 minutes in…
So every team should just give up if they aren't playing well a tenth of the way through the game? Good thing the team doesn't have the same mindset

I've heard of most colleges and Universities, but who the heck is Stonehill? and I see UB won by 6 and the game was tied at half?! Yeesh, it's gonna be a tough year for them.
It is in MA, I think this is the first year they are D1.

UB sports don't have a big enough dedicated fanbase to fill the arena/stadium unless they are a very good team. It is what it is. Hopefully the fact that it was a Monday night lowered attendance more than what it would be on a weekend. As we saw with those Top 25 teams, if you win, they will show up.

Love the aggressive defense
Still slightly sloppy overall but not bad so far
Totally agree, very active hands. Good defense goes a long way

No killer instinct. They assumed Canisius was going to roll over after getting down by 8. That 4th quarter was tragic. No flow, terrible execution, missing FT. I hope the men didn’t watch that one
I meant the men actually, but I agree

Weird watching this team and not knowing most of the roster

Need to pick it up if we want to beat them on the road.

Starting the season off 0-3 seems to really have taken the energy out of this board. No one even talking about the game.

What a run by Henderson!

We definitely look like the better team in this one.

We might not be playing against Bates this year

He was great. While not everyone agreed with his vision, at least he tried to make UB seem like it was an exciting place to be and tried to push us to higher levels.

Don't forget Lance had years like the one we're having right now...without a transfer portal to deal with.
Oh he definitely did, I mentioned that in my post above. There was just a lot of negative talk about him because he never won a MAC chip, but he is still a great coach.
-
Still can’t believe people wanted Lance gone. He has done the impossible and gotten Kansas to a 3-0 start

Lance has no loyalty. Lance is not afraid of difficult challenges. Lance will take the money if it's offered.
I will laugh at Kansas if that happens and hope that he takes half his players with him.
This is true, but also just the name of the game in college athletics. There are 5-10 jobs that are the most desirable and if you aren't one of those schools, then there is a goo chance your coach will get hired away if they have success.

Lance Leipold doesn’t seem so bad now after all the people were knocking him here for not winning a MAC title but he just beat WVU in Morgantown and the new guy is clearly a failure already. People will be wishing for those 8 win seasons with the MAC title appearance on occasion
I was always confused about the Leipold complaints. People just love to complain and the grass is always greener. But it is like they forgot what UB football has been for the last 25 years besides when he was here.

You don't think the short off season hampered them?
It definitely did so I obviously could be wrong (I hope I am) But I also think that it takes a couple years for a college coaching staff to get “their guys” and it also takes players a full year to really understand a new system, even at the NFL level. So if the program takes a big step up I think it will be 2023. The betting line is 5.5 wins, I think it is most likely that they end up at 5.
Edit: Just to add on. Even Lance went from 5-7 his first year to 2-10 his second year.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to watch the game. Maybe I am bad luck. Regardless I’ll take a huge win!
