  1. Nice recap.  With UB's success this year (both men's and women's + football) I haven't paid too much attention to the rest of the Big 4 this year.  Pretty disappointing to see the other schools struggle this season after such good records last year.

If UB stays in the top 25 multiple years, we can build a good college basketball culture in Buffalo.  But this is unrealistic - the rest of the Big 4 needs to be at least around the NIT level.  There's no reason why any Big 4 team should not sell out most home games given the population of the Buffalo metro area and talent of UB/SBU.

He will want to play and all the marquee programs have better options than betting on a "project".

I don't disagree with you on Tyree, but it worked for Minshew this year.  I don't think WSU would take Tyree given their roster situation (2 RS-Sr QBs next year), but Tyree would do so well in that offense.

  3. Dillard played 19 minutes total and scored 26 points

Bonaventure played 0 minutes total and managed to score 43 points

Real talk I don't think I've ever seen as many air balls as bona threw tonight.  Not even good shots, just something to say they put one up in the air.  At times we would leave their players wide open for a three and they wouldn't even attempt it, electing to move up for the mid range jumper or pass it.

Bona also dressed 10 players, 12 total on the team (scholarship limit for WBB is 15).  With all due respect to the 4 cut sports, I am glad that we put some form of resources towards more than one sport here.

  4. This is where Alnutt needs to advocate to the University for some money.  We have proven that we can have success in multiple sports - do we linger around in the MAC or push for something better?  This is regardless of what happens with Leipold - right now I think we give him a small raise and maybe another year or two.  I'm not impressed with the coaching, especially given the talent we have.  I feel like I said this 5 years ago (minus the extension part).....

The SIU basketball game I talked to a couple of alumni in their forties who seemingly haven't been on campus in a couple decades.  Our alumni donations/engagement is towards the bottom of the AAU.  This is how we get alumni back on campus.

Over 3,000 in attendance!  That rivals the men’s games.

    Impressive!

A decent amount of that was schools that brought their kids to the game (Stanford's coach's alma mater seems to have brought the entire school).  However I'm not discounting the public turnout.  I think that was the first time I saw people in the 300's for a women's game.  We also got the last of the shirt giveaways 20+ minutes before tip.

FLJ is building a heck of a WBB culture here in Buffalo.  I'm excited to see it grow.

Hey, we travelled WELL for this one. Listen to the crowd in this one http://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=25569529

The little whimper that dumb orange does during the Jordan 3 is perfect.  Might need to gif that

Might have just been where I was sitting (ok I admit, I used an expired UB ID to get $10 tickets) but it did not feel like we had that much of the crowd.  We had a decent crowd, but that sounded like a home game.  Also huge shout out to True Blue keeping it loud the entire game.

I think you can always get GA by calling the ticket office, I enjoy the view for $15

Is this for the SU game?  Seems like SU sells tickets for $20 + fees, haven't seen anywhere for $15.

I stupidly didn't buy tickets when they were $9 on stubhub...

I think it's because we're missing open shots. I think we could have scored 100 in most of our games if we hit our shots, of course we'd have probably called off the dogs and put in the subs after scoring like 80 anyway...

I stand by the idea that right now we all -9 to the score. When we're even we feel like we're down 9. When we're up 9 it feels even. When we're up 15 I'm up on the edge of my seat like it's a two possession game. Bona hits a 3 to bring it to 12 and I'm like uh oh...then I realize, it's still a 4-6 possession lead, and then we hit back to back 3's.

    I love this team.

I've had to stop myself from surrender cobra-ing when our lead gets down to 6 or 7.  We are so spoiled.
