#14, and the only peep you'll hear in the Buffalo sports media is when WGR does a scoreboard update.  I'm a born and raised Buffalonian, and I'm continually embarassed by this supposed "sports town".  This is a Bills and Sabres town, and that's it.  A city of losers (I'm feeling very salty today)

Sabres still get a fraction of the news coverage the Bills do, but I completely agree.

Let’s rock the place on Saturday!

Before we get all high and mighty over the swearing by the student section, recall that during the first OU game after the 2005 MAC championship game, there were long stretches of chants of "F Ohio".  I do recall Reggie taking the mic a few times before games encouraging the support, but discouraging the cursing and off-color heckling.

And I'm not defending the cursing- I thought it was dumb back then when I was in the middle of the Student Section, and still think it is dumb, especially now that I have kids with me at most games.

I root for Wisconsin football as a secondary team. Their student section is one of the best in the nation. Except they have a chant where they yell “Fuck you” and “Eat shit” to each other. Yes, the student section splits in half and swears at each other, and you can hear it on TV.

I’m indifferent to the Bona profanity. I’m not a fan of it but at the same time it’s a college game with college students. If you’re going to do it at least win or call it a rivalry.

A lot of cry baby Bonnie fans crying that it's "classless". When the tweet specifically addressed the "we want UB", "fuck UB" and "UB sucks" shenanigans.

A lot of fans are so dense, so jealous, and so full of themselves. It's really sad. They can't bear to see UB has any success.

It’s important to note that this is a vocal minority of Bonnies fans. I hope that when we have somebody go off at an opponent or their fans that we wouldn’t be judged as an entire fan base for their actions.

With this win, we moved up to 32nd in kenpom, which is especially impressive considering part of the ranking at this point in the season still consists of their "preseason ranking", which had us in the 70's. Even more fun, is that we are ranked ahead of every team in the PAC 12 on kenpom.

Question - will they all be at the next home game (Saturday Dec 15 vs Southern Illinois)?

No.  Next week is finals week.  Half the school will be home next Saturday.

Side note - in the post game interview, Hodgson mentioned that Niagara decided not to continue the series this year.  I don't know if that's a one year thing or we won't be facing the Purple Chickens for some time now, but that's a shame.

Games in Lewiston are practically home games these days so I'd even be down to play there if they split the ticket revenue and comped the GI tolls for fans.

I seem to remember that one game against a lower division will count, but a second game would not.  I feel like a few MAC teams have played 2 lower teams* in the recent past.

    * in addition to any true pre-season exhibition games.

CMU’s OOC schedule is typically a couple mid majors, handful of D2 and D3, couple of NAIA, a high school program or two, etc

Does anyone know how student tickets get treated in the equation?

    1) What are the max amount of students that can go to a game

I don't think they've turned people away since I've been here.  Running track is where the overflow goes.

This may be tested this year. We can't cram 8k people into that arena.

This is an understated aspect of our inability to draw crowds. People in the Buffalo area think/talk about UB like some regional school. There is no allegiance to the program in our own community. You have a newspaper that can't get over Danny White and a sports radio station that occasionally bumps our wins on sports updates. People think we're some tax-hogging public school tucked away from the city.

Meanwhile the Bills, further away from the city of Buffalo is fair game?  A bunch of our campuses (2? 3? I lost track) are within the city limits.

The "Horns Down" county exec finally seems to have given the men's basketball team some love.

Bigger jump than expected!  If we get to 10-0 before the Cuse and Marquette game that should put us at 13-15 range.  If we manage to go 2-0 that week we'll be a lock for top 10.  One game at a time of course, but exciting times ahead!  Lets go bulls!!

The fact that this is even in discussion is amazing.

Just looked it up. SDSU was the best attendance for an OOC game that year and that includes playing local teams which should attract fans.

Which was still low compared to our MAC schedule.

Guess there isnt isn’t a huge sample size for quality mid major programs coming to AA. That was the one I could think of.
