Now THIS is quite the conspiracy, come on man

Who are we to trust? Random AAU coaches and former players who quit on their team midseason sending ominous messages on twitter? Or perhaps we should look to the person who joined ubfan 36 hours ago and has 8 total posts?

This is a Buffalo fan message board. Absolutely nothing has come out yet in the details that indicates our coach did anything wrong (despite the obvious strange circumstances) so why wouldn't we stand by her at this point and suggest someone else must've done something wrong? It's all hearsay at this point.

I did say it's a hill I'm willing to die on.

I'll amended my stance a little. We need to get PR and our students in a good place first before we worry about TBT and Blue Collar U. I view TBT as step 99 in a 100 step process and we are on step 3.

UB has a lot of work to else where first.

To each's own, man. I'm just looking at what I've seen at other power 5 schools and their commitment to their bigger alums typically pays dividends. Someone like CJ Massinburg is likely worth 7-figures and it makes absolutely no sense to shoot his endeavor down over what is likely a couple thousand dollars of potential profit.

I think we are missing the fact that this is 100% not affiliated with the school on any level at all. There may be some legal issues regulations on why we can't shift money around to support a private event to be hosted over the summer.

IMO its not the Admin's job to offer support to former athletes some of which have are approaching 10 years removed from the school. The Admin should be charging money to rent out Alumni, that money can go on to support current athletes and not a summer basketball tournament that has zero connection to the school. I'm talking about the tournament as a business not the one out of the 64 teams that has some players on the team that used to go to UB.

I wholeheartedly disagree with this. Every major institution holds their athletic alums in high regard and they roll out the red carpet in any way that they can to support them - including stuff like TBT. Just look at what Syracuse, Wichita State, and Dayton had for their teams in TBT last year. They pony up cash and their fans come out in droves. Meanwhile, we hold out because we want to earn a couple thousand bucks in profit for using the facility.

If that isn't the case and it's truly about Air Conditioning, can the school just come out and say that? Our PR has been a friggin' nightmare for the past month and a simple statement explaining the details would clear a lot of this mess up. Either way, it's still amateur hour with Alnutt in charge.

  4. Let me see if I have this right. TBT wanted to use Alumni Arena for the defending champs to be able to play on their home court, yet BlueCollarU couldn't gather somewhere in the range of $10-$15k to pay UB whatever they charge for an event in AA? Is that for real?

1.) Was a discount offered by the University on the facility? Why would we charge full amount for a massive publicity event for the school?

2.) Was anyone on this site approached for donations to support this cause? It seems like such a small amount of money for a ton of good publicity.

3.) Didn't these guys win a million dollars last year? They can't get a few thousand together to rent the damn arena?

How does this stuff keep happening?? Either our PR is a joke and there are all sorts of secrets being held back that would explain these disasters or we have fallen off a cliff and have a support level that rivals a D3 school.

It would be a negative for us to join CUSA. Sure FAU’s run is giving them some additional money but the geography is awful. Most people know which state our schools are in. The future CUSA not so much.

All I have witnessed is that every other conference, including the CUSA, has been raided by the big boys while the MAC sat with the same members for a decade and a half. It's great that we had stability but I'm not confident any opportunities will present themselves while wallowing in this FBS bottom-feeding conference. The MAC will always be a spot for irrelevant younger siblings of the Big Ten. We need to disassociate ourselves with that persona and try another path if we have any aspirations of seeking a higher conference. Otherwise, we can just expect to fall into that category for the long run.

I don't really care if you block me for calling out your continued BS.

Unfortunately you wont see this, but yes, I would like you to stop posting what you hear from clearly unreliable "sources."

I don't care what your obvious beef is with the guy, he shouldn't stop posting what he discovers whether his sources are 100% or not. This is a message board. It's made for fan speculation in these instances so I'll take anything over silence.

The more this drags on the more I think we are on our 4th or 5th choice as the first 3 have said no thanks. I don’t think this is due diligence this is striking out. I believe this happened last time we did a coach search.

The more this drags on the more impressed I am that Danny White managed to get Bobby Hurley to come here.

With apologies to the Bard, that poster is “an ignoramus, who spins his views, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.” Please don’t lump us (CC grads) all together.

lol! Sorry, I couldn't help myself taking a shot there. You're a solid contributor, Squire! I'm just fed up with posts about how UB basketball is worse than Sweet Home High and should've hired Pat Riley for $5 million.

  9. Instead of telling everyone to ignore them, can we please just put a disclaimer on all of their posts that says, "NOTE: This poster has no affiliation with UB and received the highest of educations from Canisius College". That way anyone lurking won't think our fans are complete idiots.
