  1. Worst half of the season? Or at least since last time we played CMU.  They are extremely lucky to only be down by 5.  CMU is playing fast, sharp, and agressive.  Basically, they're out-UBing UB.  Buffalo looks slow, passive, and just downright unfocused and asleep.  Especially on defense which has been an absolute sieve.  What, did they thing blowing out Akron won them the tournament and this is just an exhibition.  They need to wake up or they will easily go down in the second half.

  2. Everyone should watch the video.  Oats is very frank about the situation.  Alnutt promised him a rec center was going to be built so Alumni could become athletics only and then be remodeled to reflect that.  He told his agent to say no thanks to any interview offers that come in unless it's something truly special that he just can't say no to.  We of course don't know what his standard is, but I think it's safe to say that schools like Illinois, Nebraska, etc aren't going to sway him.

  3. I was really hoping when they got out to a nice lead that maybe the intensity of senior night would keep these guys awake and we wouldn't see the now patented UB "get out to a nice lead and then take the rest of the game off".  Alas, it was not to be.

Really, really worried that as good as this team is, if they try this in the NCAA tourney against a good team they will get BURIED.

  4. UB has had 0 penetration or half court offense other than just chuck up threes.  They were hitting them before, they're not anymore, and no one seems to be able to figure it out.  This may end up being their lowest energy game of the season.  Just blah.

I think it's best to stick with the MAC and help grow the conference into a power conference. It's possible, just difficult

The MAC is one of the oldest conferences and has pretty much always been a mid-major.  It's explicitly designed to be.  The constituent schools and the conference administration have little interest in growing past a very good mid-major.  For example, there was a proposal by some of the Gang of 5 conferences in football to add G5 conference winners to the BCS.  The MAC president declined to support it.

I think joining the AAC is a bad idea just from a travel logistics point of view. Imagine the expense of having to travel to Tulane, SMU or USF to name a few. Would joining that conference outweigh the expense???

I rather join the Big 10 or Big East. As pipedreamy as those may be. Geographically makes most sense.  Big East to me is more attainable since they only have 10 teams and might be looking to expand to 12 or more.

Highly unlikely the Big Ten would entertain adding a program as established as UB, and the gulf in funding would be massive.  Big East is a horrible fit for UB.  The Big East is a basketball conference of private schools.  UB is a major 30,000 student public.  UB has also committed to staying FBS in football which the Big East is not.  There is no fit there.
